Honestly, i think the black man/race iscursed.
Namibia is larger than Nigeria landmass wise but with the population half of Ogun state (2.5m) which means there is vast land for farming or anything and the government overhead cost should be low because they will need to build less universities, hospitals, schools etc

Ogun state has 1 federal uni, 1 state uni, i federal poly and 1 state poly, 2 colleges of education for a population of 5m, so namibia at worst needs half of that.

Despite having huge diamond reserve, the country people are sooooo poor and the goverment has looted and borrowed from international banks to the limit with virtually nothing to show for the small population country.

So sad. Atleast we can lie to ourselves here in nigeria that the population is too much for the revenue the country is earning to show. what about failed smaller countries with resources like equitorial guinea? gabon, namibia, angola, congos etc
Some confused and delusional dudes on this forum would blame this setbacks on western powers and colonization.

But the truth and facts proves otherwise.

How can one explain the level of poverty and undevelopment in Haiti and Liberia , 2 black nations with over 100years as independent nations.

Or how do we explain the fact that Singapore a country that was thrown out of the union between them and Malaysia, can turn out to be one of the world's biggest economy and well developed country with advanced standard of living despite all the odds against them.

Singapore lacks land resources, been an island, smaller than many LGA's in Nigeria,it is Less than 700sqkm, if you remove land reclaimed from the sea.

Singapore does not have land for agricultural purposes.
Singapore does not have any mineral resources even drinking water has to be imported through pipeline from Malaysia.

They gained their independence in 1965.

Singarpore has a population of about 5million ppl.

Singapore has the qualities or disadvantages of a potential failed state, but instead of becoming a failed state, singarpore is an advanced country with well developed infrastructure and good standard of living.

Gabon & equitorial guinea even with their oil wealth and smaller population and other advantages like availability of land, agricultural potential and other mineral resources they possess are still failed state or 3rd world countries, compared to singarpore despite all the advantages they have.

Liberia after over 100 years of independence(got independence in 1847) with all there mineral wealth cannot compare to singarpore, same with Haiti( got independence in 1804)

Exactly.

The same comparism can be done between Qatar,UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain and Gabon and equitorial Guinea.

The both African countries are oil producers with population of less than 3miillion ppl each, they have favourable climate and arable soil with abundant mineral resources besides oil, Something those Arab nations I mentioned cannot boast of.

Yet this African countries are more or less 3rd world countries with high level of poverty and infrastructure deficit.

I have come to this conclusion long time ago, over 20years ago , that there is something really wrong with the black race.

Job keee
It is a very rich country but with poor people like most african countries. Same old stories.
People are looking for job too here unless you are coming as an expert in their oil and gas industry. In that case, you have to apply to a foreign country from nigeria who will then post you to angola.
Sad.

A country that should be competing with the likes of Qatar,Kuwait,UAE,Saudi in terms of development and wealth.

I don't know what is wrong with the blackman.

Places I wished I had gone to but never had the chances are Lobito and Benguela.

Lobito because it is a nickname of one of my childhood friend so am curious to really know the place and also there is a Lobito block industry in my town here in Nigeria.
The man is very popular and rich with many businesses.

Benguela because that is the predominant water current in Southern Africa. So really want to see the town that the current is named after.
While the predominant current here in west Africa is Guinea current that affects the Gulf of Guinea or Bight of Biafra as it is known, Benguela affects from South Africa to congo.
Characteristics of water areas affected by Benguela is strong current, high swells and waves, too many Sharks in this water.
South Africa and Angola have too many sharks in their water.

This is the most intelligent question ever asked. How could a country be run this way? How can a state governor or even the president, wake up and demand for a 200 billion naira loan and gets it?

He will then go ahead and use the laon to buy cars for girlfriends and traditional rulers and fellow corrupt politicians like House members, and in all these there is no federal agency after him! Not even The EFCC.

No country else in the world is governed like this! And no country governed like this will ever make progress.. This is nothing but institutionalized corruption..
So true.

Some clowns here would glady blame the Western countries, when we are our own worst enemy.

The same thing with Rivers state governor, he throws around state money like it is his personal money.

This is one way to look at it. However, remember, about just 2 to 3 years ago, when Boris Johnson was still prime minister they complained about how funding that comes from international students
to the UK purse dropped because of the scrapping of the 2 years visa to international students.

Really they should either discard it or be true to their word because men, what those students paid are not leaves or ordinary paper, they have contributed to the economy, which ever way you want to look at it.

If it sure for them they should have left it how it was before and not brought back the two years post study visa.

UK wants to eat her cake and have it too, not possible.

I don't need to talk to much. Let them scrap it and see if people would come to their economies bringing all those pounds to come and study in the next academic year or period.
It shows that most of the students were not in UK for the purposes of just having quality education but most used that medium to get visa and entry to UK.

I can blame UK ,if it was Nigeria we would do the same.

If the costs outways the benefits , I think they would scrap it.
