raumdeuter:This doesn't make sense to me. Whether he jumped bail or not is immaterial. He was arrested in 2021 and the DSS have a chance to try him for whatever crime they feel he may have committed whether in 2017 or 1999. What happens to consolidating their charges against him, take it before a court and close a case against him? 4 years is a whole lot of time if you ask me and it's failure of the entire justice system that a man will be kept in incarceration for 4 years without producing him. Even under military government , one is not expected to be locked up indefinitely without a court sentencing him to prison or putting him on death row. It's a shame! |
larride:DSS has had him in custody for almost 4 years and have not been able to close their treason case against him. Is that not even a shame on them? If he has indeed committed treason, they should present their case before the judge and let the judiciary instead of making a cult hero which arsonists and terrorists draw inspiration from his incarceration. |
raumdeuter:The real question is: How is it that someone who was arrested in 2021 has not been prosecuted and convicted in October 2025? Does that not signify the failure of the entire justice system? |
raumdeuter:The bank's job is not to trace the owner's home address for u and effect arrest. Theirs is to identify the owner, block the account and provide his details to security operatives. The security operatives there is the police that will not move an inch for you except you drop hundreds of thousands as mobilization fee. Someone who has just been robbed is definitely not in a position to drop that kind money. I get person wey don follow through the process before and I can tell u it's a dead end without you dropping money for police on top the money u Don lose in the robbery. |
liveLongNprospa:Diego Forlan, see where you go hang jabulani! 😂
|
GloriousGbola:He knows what he is doing, u will notice he kept insisting arbitrary execution is acceptable in the middle east. He is deliberately being silent on the human rights angle, but he quotes UN time and again to score a point against how Israel has prosecuted the war against Hamas. Ask him if his beloved UN thinks about rounding up people and summarily executing them without any form of fair trial, then you will another long rambling epistle from him that makes no sense. ![]() |
afrodoc:Here is my theory; aside Farouk Lawan and maybe Maryam Sanda, there are not so much well know PEPs (Politically Exposed Persons) on the pardon list. They didn't envisage people would google and query the inclusion of Kelvin the kidnapper, the Nigerian Army who sold arms to terrorists, the 40 illegal miners and 70 drug offenders on the list. They had thought people will grumble about Farouk Lawan and maybe Maryam Sanda, then few days after we will move on while the horde of offenders who committed violent crime or drug related crime on the list would've passed under the radar. I have a very strong belief that majority of those criminals did actually pay for slot to be included in the list (Bar dem Herbert Macaulay, Vatsa, Ogoni nine, etc). Then the AGF, SGF and another office expected to vet the list were either incompetent or complicit to the extent of allowing the list to pass down to the president who signed without reviewing the list himself. The whole thing reeks of corruption, incompetence, negligence and criminal audacity to push nonsense down the throat of the people knowing fully well that there are people who will off cloth to defend the nonsense. |
LordAdam16:All these long hypocritical shalaye no really concern me. It's just amusing how you moved from that Nairaland Palestinian who "loved" all Palestinians (both the armed militia and the civilians) with "brotherly love", only for you to suddenly start justifying why some Palestinians need to die and others empowered to kill them. Weldone! Eku Ise takun takun; Eku ija fun eto omoniyan ![]() |
iamoyindamola:Most well run company remit your pension to your preferred PFA which you submitted during onbaording and you will get alert from your PFA anytime your company do remittance to your RSA. Since I started working, all my employers do remit my 8% and their own 10% contribution to my RSA and I get alerted when they do. If a company is not remitting, then the staff should ask questions or talk to management na. What I'm saying is this; increasing the employer's contribution from 10% to 20% is a burden on their books. You are looking at it from the lower level angle . Look at it from the angle of employees earning N2m per month, it means the company will have to cough out N2.4m per month for the Salary + pension contribution of that staff. Whereas, before now they were only paying N2.2m as that staff expense. If they do same for all their staff, it will significantly increase their personnel cost na. |
izzou:Nigerians are one of the easiest people to deceive/manipulate in the whole world. Few weeks ago Dangote had most of them believing PENGASSAN and NUPENG are the reason the government refineries are not working. NUPENG is the reason why they are not buying PMS cheaper because of the levies they collect on each truck of fuel and all other sort of nonsense his PR machineries dished out. Today everybody is quietly buying Dangote PMS and NNPC PMS above N900 and they are not outraged. Dull people were saying PENGASSAN should go and build their refinery forgetting how FG gave Dangote access to FX which every other Nigerian needed access to back then o. If u look at what our politicians, religious leaders and even big conglomerate have successfully done to manipulate Nigerians to be on their side always, you just have to agree that as smart as we may be as a people; we are so easy to manipulate especially with our biases |
iamoyindamola:The government cannot do this because it will be unfair to the employers/business owner. If I own a company and government is proposing to increase Employers' contribution to staff pension to 20%, I will kick against the move because it will further Impose financial burden on me as an employer of Labour. The only way is government further working on our wage system. If people earn well, the current 10% employers contribution is not so bad if the staff earn decent salary. |
LordAdam16:Wail keh? 😂 Wetin concern me with Jihadist taking themselves out? 🤷♂️ Just pointing out the hypocrisy in spending majority of the year crying "Palestine Live Matters" only to dey do shalaye in October as to why Palestinians deserve to be executed .
|
Ellexy:Palestinian-on-Palestinian crime no concern the nairaland Palestine contingent, You no see how dem dey type verbose paragraph to justify people being rounded up and executed summarily? Na when they deal with the Jihadists in the language they understand, then you will see them carry Merriam-Webster dictionary begin define genocide, war crime, and all those words that don't apply to Palestine but must apply to Israel or any other person dealing with their murderous asses ![]() |
GloriousGbola:No, I'm saying where Nigeria happened to you reach na im you know. Nigeria happening to person go far gan. That's why you think the criminals would be caught by handing police a few thousand notes or that there's any thing bank can do to retrieve money wey criminals move to and already withdrew from burner bank accounts . ![]() |
GloriousGbola:You are not getting it. The bank has done what they need to do by placing a lien on the receiving account so nobody can withdraw from that account again but does not help your case. Why? The money they transferred from your account to that account was withdrawn immediately. While you are being held hostage by the criminals, they would've dropped one of their members along the way to go see to withdrawing the money. By the time they are releasing you, the money has already moved. Don't forget that they took your phone, and every other means you can use to get through to your bank, and you will be dealing with injuries and trauma from the incident for the most part of that day before having chance to reach your bank o. As for the police, e be like you no know how much Nigeria police dey collect to mobilize to sort that kind case. Mind you, at the time they will be demanding that money your net worth is 0. Make Nigeria no just happen to you, it is only then you will understand the kind of jungle we live in. |
GloriousGbola:All these ones wey u dey talk na because u never enter one chance along Ketu/Berger to Iyana Oworo axis and Charley boy/Gbagada to Iyana Oworo axis. If one chance operators hold you they will wipe all your account and ask your family members to still transfer to your account before they release you or dump Ur body somewhere for them to pick. If you listen to people's account of how they were cleaned out following their encounter with these dare devils, you will understand that not having cash even puts u in danger when u encounter them. Few months ago a colleague was a victim, tbey cleaned her out and still said the money was to small. They called her family members, church mule hers and her manager in the office that she has been kidnapped and currently in their custody. They put her on phone while she was being hit in the knee with hammer. People had to rally round to send cash before they dumped her injured at one bus stop. Police were later requesting substantial cash to investigate the case ; imagine someone that was cleaned out and police requesting for money. When she traced the money through her bank, they revealed the money was moved from the receiving account almost immediately and there's no cash in the receiving account again. Although they placed a lien on the reviving account, but it's of no help to her. |
izzou:Nigerians are vexed because typical of Nigeria, most times what is stated on paper don't usually play out in real life most times. There have been talks of the new tax law curbing multiple taxation but we will only know the true picture of things come 31st January 2026 when most people must have felt the impact of the new tax law either by the tax deducted from your salary or what the relevant tax authorities will demand from you after the first month of the new tax year. For example they currently take more than x2 of some people's salary from my monthly income as tax. When I get periodic allowances it gets taxed too heavily and if I make investment from my already taxed income to earn interest ; I still pay tax on that income as well. Let's not forget that for every 10,000 that gets credited to my account the bank takes 100 naira on behalf of government which in itself is a tax. i.e if for example I move money from my salary account to my savings account or any other bank account, they will remove 100 naira from the receiving account. Come 2026 one would need to see how all of these play out ; it is only then one can know if the talks about the tax law eliminating multiple taxation is real talk or if it's just government propaganda as usual. We would also be interested in how sloths like NURTW people who collect cash on a daily basis are made to pay tax and not just only hardworking people..... The people are also vexed with Oyedele whose job is to make them pay tax while nothing is being done about the corruption of the upper class. Nobody is happy paying tax to a government headed by Tinubu that would award a mega contract like the coastal road to Abacha's crony without following due process. It's just a case of people not trusting their leaders and they are nit wrong for not trusting them. |
izzou:Reno is shameless and when a man is shameless, there's nothing he won't do to have his hand continually stick in the cookie jar. If Reno can backtrack on all the vile things (both true and untrue) he said about Tinubu only to be the unofficial defender of Tinubu, then this particular matter is not something he won't try to wriggle his way out. Unfortunately, the moment he starts to appeal to emotions of people like making it about him being attacked because he supports the ruling government ; in no time he will have supporters of the ruling government standing by his side ASAP. |
izzou:This thing just be like make one oyinbo come Nigeria snap picture with Baálè of Okokomaiko or Baálè of isashi then go back to his country write epistle about how he was honored in Nigeria ![]() Reno lives and will probably die for clout. |
Spy360:The explanation/clarification makes no sense one bit ! So the AGF is saying they are reviewing what the president has already approved ? How ? In what world does an appointee of the president go back to review what the president has already passsed approval on? Even in big companies where u get approval for USD payments that reaches a particular threshold that requires CEO’s approval ; if u don see CEO approval na make payment officer process remain. There’s no review you want to do again when you already confirmed the CEO approved himself . So how can Lateef Fagbemi claim he’s reviewing the presidential pardon after the president has approved ? Mind you , in the state house release initially they claimed the AGF chaired a committee that received 243 applications , listened to their testimonies, interviewed them and reviewed their cases before forwarding 175 names to the president for approval . What they admitted by that press release was that they interviewed the notorious kidnapper kelvin who killed a former deputy governor and kidnapped ozekhomen ; yet somehow, they think releasing him makes sense. They also interviewed over 40 illegal miners and thought releasing them makes sense more than people sentenced for petty theft like stealing tubers of yam. They are saying they interviewed 70 drug dealers/drug mules, and they thought it wise to let them enjoy the good grace of a president that had over $400k linked to drug trade seized from him by the government of United States. See they are not reviewing any shiiit, they are just trying trying to cover face from the backlash that followed the release of the ludicrous pardon list. Imagine they claimed they involved CAN, NBA, Supreme council of Islamic affairs, etc in the initial review just to force it down our throat. When they see how people have reacted including their staunch supporters, they are trying to deceive us by claiming an AGF is reviewing what the GCFR has already given 100% approval. ☹️ |
Ellexy:😂😂😂 This screenshot wan wound me . There’s this way Trump talks that just seem too raw and direct . Just look at the way he said we will have no choice but to go in and kill them 😂 |
Segedinho:Ask the husband to find out cost from UBTH. The price will obviously vary from one teaching hospital to another . |
CaptainStephen: ![]() Just dey play! The bold is not a flex like you want to see it to be. Nigeria's Super eagles is not Morocco, Ivory Coast or Egyptian National teams that are all performing well at the moment and can slug it out with other decent teams from Europe or South America o. The play off is a do or die for all the teams that will participating, not just opportunity for Nigerian players to rack up caps. If they keep up with the performance level they displayed in the last few matches we saw, Super Eagles may not be going to the world cup. We will be playing Gabon that has Aubameyang that may punish us the moment we slack going by how he's been in form of recent times. |
AirBere:It is well. |
andrewbaba44:Was Iwobi not seeing game time at Arsenal,Everton and Fulham and still opting to play for Nigeria? Some of us have been watching Iwobi for a long time and we haven't seen him improve. We don't hate him, we just think Nigeria deserves better. |
izzou:I know VI and Lekki Axis have always used white colored buses for a long time now and that they arrest yellow and black buses that stray beyond Obalende/CMS axis. What I don't know is when they started adopting the blue and white color with red, green and yellow stripes by the side. Some of the buses/minibuses Gbaja bought for empowerment in Surulere carry that color. Also been seeing buses with that color in Oshodi and VI axis too. Most of the buses wearing that color are new vehicles, so I was wondering maybe it's Lagos state government ministry of transport that mandated them to pain their buses in the new color that has a semblance with BRT's colors. |
Why is it that almost everyone in APC today suddenly start to champions a course they once stood against? 🤷♂️
|
Has Lagos state government changed the official commercial vehicle color from the traditional yellow with black stripes to blue + white with yellow, green and blue stripes without us knowing? Recently I noticed most new commercial vehicles plying Lagos island wear the aforementioned new colors. Then recently I started noticing them on the mainland too. The colors are almost same with the colors of BRT. Are they phasing the yellow buses out already? cc: Izzou, GloriousGbola |
larride:Nigerians dey get confidence sha. ![]() See as u just look every potential opponent less and assume we will beat any of them. |
Hunger bad Sha. I saw the news yesteeday evening saying Maryam Sandra's father-in-law forgives her and approved her release/pardon. I was like WTF? 🤷♂️ https://www.nairaland.com/8539559/bilyaminus-father-ahmed-bello-isa The family had earlier released a press release condemning her release by the FG and express their bitterness about the whole presidential pardon thingy. Now it's being revealed that the father wasn't in the late son's life and only showed up when his properties were about to be shared. The same father is one who negotiated with the in-laws and organize a joint press conference to give the his support to the presidential pardon. Hunger no be good thing at all; even from the picture u can tell.
|
raumdeuter:Nwaneri has not committed. See there are emerging talents that can be scouted and given a chance rather than sticking with the regulars who have already reached their peak which is average like Iwobi. But if Una say make we lockup with Iwobi, no wam! I shall be there! |
raumdeuter:Dem don scout them first? It's only when they scout they can confirm whether no player of Nigerian descent plays in midfield. |
