That was how they arrested beat and lock up a lawyer who went to the station to bail his client. The lawyer was trying to stand on the law while intervening on behalf of his client whom they arrested earlier. The police men beat the lawyer up and had him locked up. The story made it to Punch Newspapers with NBA condemning the act. At the end the DPO of the station was just reassigned from the particular police station and the police top hierarchy apologized. Nothing significant happened afterwards.

There are several people languishing in prisons across Nigeria today just because police arrested them in their illegal raids, didn't allow them access to their relatives, charged them to court for not having money for bribe/bail and having magistrate/judge remand them in prison.

The crazy thing is the police IPO will not appear in court after the first day of Ur trial. The judge will keep adjourning while the victim langusihes in jail. That is why prisons are congested as a result of awaiting trials. The problem wey police dey cause for this country no small at all

it is a hill i will die on . i have said it multiple times. there is now a large northern muslim community in festac and as they are moneyed middle and upper middle class, they are throwing their weight around. i see it in some schools. young girls now wearing hijab. which obviously happened because the muslim parents put pressure for this to be school uniform for muslims. something that was no one was bothered about before. you will now have some parents who will be aggressively checking your daughters for not wearing hijab as a personal uniform.

I once thought of this as the only way to make politics less attractive to looters who don't have the heart for service but to enrich their pockets.

In Nigeria you will see people resigning as Bank MDs to contest as senators simply because of the stupendous funds they would have access to as a law maker. The kind of money they will never be able to earn for years, they ill make in just one year in office.

If we can make find a way to pay governors the salary of a masters degree holder, pay senators & HOA members the salary of a B.Sc holder ,pay president salary of Phd Holders and have strong institutions like EFCC, Police, Judiciary etc working independently free from influence of the executive.....Just maybe this country can have a shot at redemption.

That's just it. Our players are well drilled to take advantage of any slip from the opposition when defending corner kicks against us and it angers their supporters.

Arsenal would be playing a corner kick you would see their player dragging Gabriel's cloth and trying to prevent him from being anywhere near the ball; but the moment the corner kick is in the air Gabriel will lose his marker and leap high to attempt a chance at goal. Most times he gets it right and you see opponents complaining we score too many corner kicks.

we have scored twice the number of set piece goals through open play. But somehow they media wants to create the narrative that we depend on set piece. The fact that we mastered the act of scoring through set piece doesn't mean we utterly depend on it. The problem is our attackers not burying our open play chances, and that has made the agenda sell well. The team sees set piece as a weapon and knows that when it happens there's a chance.

That being said, we really need more creativity through the middle and not always the wings, that will make life more easier for everyone. If we can be shooting more often in such congested low blocks, there will always be a possibility of an own goal, reflection and rebounds.
