Baba , if u know what it takes to make it in football to the national levels( no matter what age grade ) , u will know this boy right here is not Under 15. Before u even leave the local football academy in ur area to move to a bigger one , u don cross 15 years old . Nigeria is not like Europe where there are organic football academies scattered all over the countries where the FA will go to pick the youngest prospects to form a national U-15 team o. In Nigeria they go to pick talents in their early 20’s and band them into a team ni . |

GloriousGbola: it happens all the time in projects and you have definitely experienced it before. where you try to avoid the obvious solution because running it will be a pain in the ass and a significant disruption
last month, my system had an issue brought about by windows upate. i tried to fix it, and then the system refused to boot. i spent over 24 hours trying to fix the issue before i surrendered and reinstalled windows. because a reinstall is far more disruptive. we had the same issue ona project. the solution would require that we did extensive and expensive civil works. but after we tried everything else, we had no choice and we had to go with it To whom much is given, much is expected. JAMB was responsible for deciding the future of 1.9 million teenagers and young adults. This is the future of fellow humans we are talking about, not some "project". JAMB was 100% wrong to have sat down and decided not acknowledging their fault in the compromise of the result of 20% of the candidates. It is unfair and wicked. There's no justification for that boss. This is an exam which only happens once a year. For u to appreciate the how grave their decision/indecision was; we can refer to the case of the student who unalived herself over the result. |

as an aside this is what makes NL work
a friends son scored 162 and i messaged her this morning. somehow she was not aware of everything going on. she hs checked and confirmed that the guy is resitting his jamb tomorrow. please contact anyone you know whose wards may have failed their jamb to do a re check ASAP So where did the money for this resit now come from? Is it outside their budget? There's what is called cost-benefits analysis now. Can't u see that if they had expended that cost of resit without this whole controversy, the benefits would've been worth it? At least everyone would've had trust in JAMB for being that exam body that can right its wrong without being pushed to do so. Now they saved that cost only to expend it and now public trust in JAMB is lost |

izzou: I mean... it's very simple
JAMB released the results of 1.5 million candidates; 379,000 to resit because of technical glitches.
20% is not negligible. And to think that a whole region was affected, but the Prof that transformed UNILORIN to Harvard standard missed it.
A very good case to sue JAMB and collect damages The family of that girl that committed suicide actually have a ground to sue JAMB. If Nigeria was abroad sef, u would've seen candidates affected by this incident banding together to sue JAMB. They would sue for damaged for the emotional distress caused them |

i have been there before on projects. If this did happen and they took this decision, then I'm not sorry to say it was a stupiiiid decision and everyone involved in such decision making process don't deserve to have a job. Waig first! Why are u talking about cost implication like JAMB was set up to generate revenue and save cost? 🤷♂️ Was JAMB not set up to conduct credible university entrance exam? izzou: Only emotions will make me believe Oloyede.
Everything they did is parallel with what they are saying.
379000 is not some figure that is insignificant. That's 20% of the candidates. There is no way they would not have seen that before they announced the results.
Oloyede was well aware of what happened.
And who knows how long these glitches have distorted the destinies of previous candidates. The fact that it affected some students , then they discovered the "glitch" and it was patched. That alone should've made them hold on releasing the general results and do the right thing before the whole thing blew in their faces. I guess he was weeping for himself for the grave mistake he made. He chose releasing results promptly over releasing credible results |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 7:52am On May 15, 2025 |
afrodoc2: I heard that this Registrar was very competent. It looks like some of his IT people dropped the ball badly and unfortunately, he might have to suffer for it. He seems to be trying to do the right thing because the JAMB of previous years would have denied even under threat of hellfire torture.
I had a classmate who would have scored the highest in JAMB if his result was released but it was withheld for some bogus reason. His parents went looking for the result personally in JAMB through official and informal means. He had to do JAMB again the next year and smashed it badly again and was one of the highest in the country but this time they released it.
I had another friend who i think had 8A1s and was always scoring 30-40 marks more than most of his classmates in every single Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics exam only for JAMB to give him the same score as those classmates in JAMB Physics. it was like JAMB giving you and Einstein the same score.
Those people have unfairly altered so many destinies. I think there's actually something wrong with our processes in this country, particularly in the public owned institutions. I believe ideally this review JAMB is doing after releasing results should actually come before results are released. When I was in the university I worked closely with one of my lecturers whom I assisted in marking tests, exams of students in levels below ours and also assisted him in reserach work. He would prepare marking scheme for the exams and give to me to mark for him in line with the scheme. When I'm done, he will skim through to confirm I marked in line with the scheme. He does this because when all of these is done, he is expected to submit the scripts of all students, the mark sheets and the marking scheme to the review panel set by the department . If there's any issue with the marked scripts and results recorded in the mark sheet, they will direct the lecturer to review and have it sorted out. It is after all of this is done the results are approved at department level and then at faculty level before they get go ahead to either paste the result on the board or upload it online where students can view it via their portals . That is why it is rare for u to call for ur script , have it remarked and u will score higher than u did originally. Reviews of exams like JAMB should actually be done thoroughly to avoid all this kind embarrassment honestly. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 7:40am On May 15, 2025 |
GloriousGbola: i would say oloyede's IT guys were not fortright with him and if you are not deeply tech savvy, you will trust whatever your IT guru says oloyede would not have any reason to believe there was a glitch in the system. and whoever failed to load the correct patches and thoroughly test before rolling out would simply have kept quiet and continued reassuring oloyede that the system was fine
oloyede also has blame sha in the sense that this is where ibimes number matter comes in. look at the numbers over the last four years and ask yourself why is there such a sharp deviation
[ i showed a guy working for me how to use a tool to automatically measure areas of lots of land in autocad. but you have to set a factor of 0.001 into the tool . this guy did not set the factor and was giving me plots of land with area of 100,000 sqm range. and reporting these areas. i was checking the drawing before sending and wondering what was happening because there was obviously an error somewhere.it was immediately obvious something was wrong ]
then again, using ibimes numbers this 300,000 may not make much statistical difference . the current failure is at 76%. assuming all these guys retake and pass, the failure will now be at 68 or 69%
summary, Jamb needs to get some sort of QA for their software and proper testing. whoever has been running their software has been operating without accountability. i said before, my son told me they had a 20 minute system outage in his center, it affected him and some other students. imagine sitting there waiting while others and entering their data, and when the system came back up they did not give them back the lost time.
based on the announcement this come back to https://www.educare.school/
educare tech team are the ones who made the announcement
basically educare did a crowdstrike on jamb 2025 Baba what u are doing here is tacitly absolving Oloyede of blame. No be so o. Oloyede's fault is going ahead to release result knowing fully well there was a glitch that had affected students while the exams were on. They should've arranged for resit for those students before releasing the results and making it seem like those students affected by the glitch actually afiled. He obviously misled the public by sitting on the information following the detection of the glitch. |

izzou: Oloyede's tears no move me one bit
If JAMB had first announced the results, and stated that all the SE states and Lagos were to resit, it would have been noble.
Rather, they announced that 1.5 million were below 200. Even the 379k that is to resit, were given scores
Then after you saw that this error would soon be exposed, you eat onions and come and cry for us.
Nice acting sir...What's your TikTok handle? I think u have a very good point . From what I understand by the technical review report the Educare guy posted , it appears as tho JAMB was aware of the technical glitch even before the exams was concluded . The second change involved full-scale shuffling of both questions and answer options. This ensured that even two candidates sitting in the same session would not receive identical permutations, thereby enhancing test security.
The third change was a series of systemic improvements aimed at optimizing performance and reducing lag during exam sessions. This was a major policy change that saw the best and highest Obtained UTME score in 15 years. And this would have amounted to a great achievement by JAMB!
While these improvements were technologically sound in theory, a major operational flaw was uncovered during the implementation phase. The system patch necessary to support both shuffling and source-based validation had been fully deployed on the server cluster supporting the KAD (Kaduna) zone, but it was not applied to the LAG (Lagos) cluster, which services centres in Lagos and the South-East. This omission persisted across all sessions until the 17th session, after which the error was discovered and corrected. If they say the omission persisted till the 17th session after which it was discovered and corrected ; it means they knew about the glitch while the exams were still ongoing and then corrected it such that only those already affected from.start were victims while those who sat for.the exams afterwards were unaffected. Now the big question is why did they not point this out when the original results were released? Why was Prof Oloyede singing praises of JAMB at the point of release of results when he's aware of this issue? Was he hoping the students affected would.acveot the results in good faith and move on with their lives? The more I go back to read the report, the more questions I have. This whole thing is so messed up. To think I ignorantly believed JAMB under prof Oloyede had overcome all this kind of mess up. I guess I fell for his self praise all along. 🤦♂️ |
