Theflint1: The sad thing about these big men kids entering politics is that it's often the ones that can't find bearing for their lives on their own that would be looking to chook head in politics e.g Seyi Tinubu and Natasha...most of those that are able to leverage their privilege to make something of their lives just don't look back, OBJ's kids are good examples of such. Seyi Tinubu actually has serious bearinv with his life o; commot am from ur list abeg. Without politics the guy is doing well for himself with his media agency business. |

iamoyindamola: Drug is not treason, that's why I said some countries like NK will execute the foreigner that commit treason My point is killing the citizens that committed treason and releasing the Americans to their country is not an African thing, it is their law
Normally the Americans were sentence to life imprisonment and suppose to serve the jail term in DRC They shouldn't have released them to US, but they are right by executing their people because it's the law There's nothing special about treason. Just like any other serious crime, treason may attract capital punishment (death sentence) or life/long term imprisonment. It is the lawmakers of the country that determines whether it will attract death sentence or imprisonment. If the law of the country says treason attracts death sentence, whether u are a foreigner or citizen u can be executed except some high level diplomatic intervention takes place. The only reason the Americans weren't executed is definitely due to diplomatic intervention of the American government. No be say na because of their skin |

iamoyindamola: Everyone citizen knows treason is punishable by death, you can't execute foreigner for treason except for some countries You rather lock them up for life, you should ask why they released them to America instead of letting them serve the punishment in their country You can actually execute foreigners if ur law makes provisions for it. U know how many nigerians have been hanged in Asian and Arab countries for drug trafficking? |

izzou: Doesn't work that way
Most likely the US Government must have initiated diplomatic measures to ensure they are not killed.
Considering what they might be gaining from the USA, it would be hard to insist otherwise You are missing the point. I know diplomacy is involved quite all right but I'm saying it's a shame on Africa if they make laws that allows their citizens to be executed but foreign nationals on the other hand to be renditioned. It only means Ur citizens can die for trying to change a government forcefully but foreign nationals on the other hand will get a slap on the wrist for same crime |

By the way they will serve their sentence(life imprisonment) in US They should've sentenced their own citizens too to life imprisonment for treason instead of executing them. At least let them show they value their fellow black man's life they way they value a whiteman's |

Taguchi: Asin.. some things we dey read for here.dem don really see arsenal finish.
It's even ridiculous that we're debating whether arsenal's 3:0 win was lucky or not.
I don't know if it was the same match I watched that reartord is calling a lucky win.
Same match that Madrid had no clear cut chance save a week shot from a tight angle and an offside ball that Mbappe blasted over
Same match Madrid was fortunate to not concede from the numerous chances Saka sent across the face of goal that was begging for just a tap in.
The same match where Madrid could have conceded an own goal from a Camavinga's deflection
Same match where Madrid's Bellingham made a goal line clearance
Same match where Madrid's alaba also made a goal line clearance
The match where even William Saliba erroneously blocked a goal bound header from Thomas partey.
Same match where courtouis made back to back saves multiple times.
The same match where arsenal scored not 1, or 2 but 3 expertly taken shots without any goal keeping or defensive error.
Maybe na different match sha but if na yesterday's game, someone was definitely lucky but it wasn't Arsenal Na Agenda wan bend their neck jare |

Realtord43: In your own word, describe Rice free kick? Make I define free kick? I don't get. A freekick is awarded to a tea whose player is fouled in a football match. The team awarded the freekick is allowed to restart play by kicking the ball at the opposition's goal without immediate interference by the opposition players. Rice's freekick was a typical freekick in which he aimed at the opposition goalpost and successfully put the ball at the back of the net after beating the opposition wall and the goalkeeper with his perfectly placed shots in quick succession. Simple |

Messi also started from one day ,even though I believe rice won’t end up becoming a freekick specialist ,the freekick he scored is not in anyway luck
Both free kicks where never a deflection ,2 perfect hanging angle ,no goal keeping errors As in....If he had scored just one they may have a point but he scored two goals using the same tactics/skill and they say na luck LUCK simply means: " success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one's own actions" . The particular freekick was simply scored by Rice's actions i.e hitting the ball right, beating the wall, beating the goal keeper and placing the shot in the right angle inside the net without any deflection or assistance from any other player. monerozi5590: You didn't watch the match?
1. He was put through on goal and he blast it over the bar. He was right in front of Raya. 2. Put through on goal from Bellingham' pass and he didn't bend the ball very well, it was saved by your keeper. 3. He received a pass in your penalty box, instead of hitting it one time, he dragged it a little and hit the side netting. I watched the match and saw him doing all of that.I'm sure u saw the word "unsettled" in my post u quoted. Mbappe wasn't left alone even when he was put through on goal and he ended up missing those chances while under pressure. That is what the unsettled part of my post was referring to. But I'm sure u also watched the match and saw Courtois saving Madrid's asss for most of the match. We can make an argument that if not that Courtois was lucky to save those balls Arsenal would've scored 6 goals or more. |

Look at the quality of chances Mbappe had last night. On a very good day, Mbappe will score all that. Which chances did Mbappe have? He was locked down and unsettled for most of the game by Saliba and co. Madrid as a team were not at their best at all and were outplayed. |

Bombblacks: Your first two goals were setplays from a player that hasn't scored one before in his entire career. When we say lucky it doesn't mean Arsenal were getting dominated and managed to sneak a win like Liverpool did against Psg. Lucky in the sense that a player did something he may never repeat in his entire career. Calm down and stop being defensive. I'm not being defensive, I'm only telling u that scoring freekick is a skill and not luck. If he hit the ball against the bar and the ball ends up striking the keeper on his back before fining its way into the net, u can say the goal was pure luck. A player who hits the ball perfectly beating the human wall and the keeper in quick succession in a single match is not luck. He simply improved his set piece skill. We watch every week and most times he always delivers perfectly timed set piece. |

monerozi5590: Everything went well for Rice on that night. He will play 20 of that and none will go in. Something like this for Rice happened once in a while. Is Rice the only goal scorer in the match ? Is Merino's goal also about luck or hitting the ball right? If u watch the match with open mind u will that Arsenal wanted it more and won the match by taking their chances. Courtois was the busiest between the 2 goalies pulling off saves to keep Madrid in the game till Rice put the ball at the back of the net in quick succession. How u use luck to beat the defensive wall, the goal keeper and still put the ball behind the net twice ? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by BlueRayDick: 8:26am On Apr 09, 2025 |
Bombblacks: Possession and shots has nothing to with someone who hasn't scored a freekick in his entire career scoring two in one night. Without those freekick goals Arsenal would have been lambasted for wasting their opportunities. The point is Madrid was't even trying to score Arsenal with just 3 attempts at goal compared to Arsenal's 11. If Arsenal was lucky to have scored 3 out of those 11 (two of which are free kicks and one from open play), the Madrid was luckier to have conceded just that 3. Madrid didn't even put in work to register goals in their name. Whether Rice scores direct freekick every week or once in a lifetime is irrelevant . I wonder when scoring a freekick suddenly became a thing of luck and not about hitting the ball right to out it behind the post |

Sportsweb: It's funny, the luck and miracle that used to assist Real Madrid actually went for arsenal favour
Someone that hasn't scored a freekick in his career, scored the best two free kicks ever seen That's not luck bro. Arsenal had 11 shots on target to Real Madrid's 3. Arsenal had the most possession(53% to Real Madrid's 47%). If anything, Real Madrid were lucky to have ended the match with just 3 goals deficit; they were completely outplayed in the middle of the park; Timber locked Vinicius down and Saliba frustrated his old friend Mbappe each time he tries to make a difference. |
