Calling Calafiori signing a waste of money is unfair.

At the end of last season we had just the unstable Zinchencko and an underperforming Kiwior as our fit LB options considering Tomiyasu has been out of action as far as we all can remember.

Most fans knew we needed a decent senior player in that LB role and Calafiori fits perfectly into that picture considering his exploits at the Euros.

It is unfair to claim his signing was a waste of money simply because an academy player is shining and Arteta decides to allow him shine and not dim his light by benching him for Calafiori who has had injury issues this season.

The coach is high in his emotions. I was watching the match yesterday night before I slept off, it was obvious the match was already lost with or without Lookman converting the PK.
