Fkforyou:When u see players recycling the ball very close to the dugout and the coach is yelling at them to play forward pass, u don't need a soothsayer to tell u they are executing the coach's instructions to his satisfaction. If West Brom that was perennial relegation time can overturn 3 goal decifit against an Alex Ferguson team, what makes u think that Man city the reigning champion cannot do the same against an Arsenal team that couldn't hold a goal advantage for a minute as at the last time of both teams meeting? The game may be dusted to u, but the professional players on the pitch and their coach knows it is not. If a younger player doesn't , he will learn sooner or later. |
Fkforyou:I have watched EPL long enough to know the scores can be overturned . During the days of Van Persie at Man utd , I think it was 2013 or there abouts; West Brom Man Utd’s 5-2 lead to end the match 5-5. If west brom can overturn a 3 goal deficit , who told u a dead but not out man city led by Guardiola can’t do same if we don’t apply caution ? Coach wey tell the players to Dey recycle pass between midfield and our defence is not a dunce . |
CrystalTiger:Exactly my point. We have people putting up defense for all the government's frivolous spendings despite the country running on borrowed funds. Now one of the major financiers of the ostentatious lifestyle of our leaders wants to pull the plug and we suddenly get the self awareness that we are in danger? We have been in danger for so so long, it just seem some of us arent aware of that or just finding out. |
Unlimited22:I also served in the north and all I saw was government failure while the people are docile enough to be expecting succor from foreign missions who don't owe them zilch. During our community CDS we went to carryout cleaning of a magistrate court, u would think they don't seat in that court at all because they hardly clean it except when there will be a seating . Yet, they have allocation for regular cleaning which someone obviously embezzled. They refuse to employ permanent teachers in government owned schools and will prefer to use NYSC members all year round while someone embezzles the money allocated to the ministry of education . This is one of the reasons I want the NYSC scheme to be scrapped. If state governments cannot fund their respective education ministry to employ enough permanent teachers, then let all them leave their children to become illiterates na. They have primary and secondary health care providers not in good shape, those health care centers lacking personnel and medicine because somebody has embezzled the funds for the ministry of health. I saw all of these and more and I still believe the buck stops on the table of the people who have condoned this for this long. |
Unlimited22:What's the naivete is saying we will face the consequences of our own people in government stealing from our commonwealth over the years while leaving the country to go to shiit? Shey na Americans or Chinese go come help us face the consequence if we don't face it ni? Is it America that was giving "repentant Boko Haram" amnesty ni or it was America that was renovating mosque instead of providing quality education to the teeming youth? Is it America that turned school drop out o Agbero and started elevating these Agberos to people of station in the country? Majority of our problems in this country are man made/self made. |
izzou:Those vices are already at an all time high. You and I will go out of our way to protect ourselves and our properties noni. Crying won't solve anything. |
GloriousGbola:I can't speak for Trump sha because I honestly don't know how his mind works nor do I have a deep insight into what he is doing in far away America. But one thing I've noticed is that some of his actions are getting nod/support of the people going by the engagement from his tweets online . Whether that means something , I will never know. I am not an expert on American politics , so I will just be on the sideline reading opinion of people who know more about that. |
izzou:It's either our leaders do something or we face the adverse effect na. |
GloriousGbola:Well, I think it is mostly about Nigeria. The bolded is mostly done by Nigerian businesses. I have had privilege to see how quite a number of foreigners run business and how Nigerians do; I think that the bolded is the forte of Nigerians. They always almost end up killing the golden goose laying the golden egg. The big man CEO would rather collect silly traditional titles, buy rolls royce and spray the reigning musician money instead of ploughing back profit into his business. I have seen this happen more often than not with Nigerian businesses. |
GloriousGbola:I understand ur experience , but there's nothing that confirms that ur experience may be the same with what is happening in the United States na. Or what do u think ? Not all experiences are one and same. |
GloriousGbola:Let me just tell u something most of us don't want to say but we know it deep down our hearts: NIGERIANS DON'T LIKE NIGERIA AS A COUNTRY. THERE IS NO SENSE OF PATROTISM IN THIS COUNTRY BECAUSE THE IDEA OF ONE NIGERIA IS A MIRAGE. Until our differences as a country of diverse people is addressed, u will continue to see Nigerians working at cross purposes. Look at the tax reform bills that has faced different criticism/applause from different quarters, most people giving their opinion are not even doing it from a place of what the country may become. Just look at one of the northern governors( I think it is Kebbi) allocating billions to renovate several mosques (religious centers) at a time people are talking about the country not making enough to sustain itself. |
GloriousGbola:There is actually nothing wrong with a fresh school grad auditing ur processes and procedures, provided such young grad auditor is not reinventing the rules. So far he is coming to apply the existing rules to review your processes, it shouldn't be an issue. A clear mind fears no accusations. It is the job of the department to justify its spendings and prove they are not deviating from what is written in the rule books. |
izzou:The reality is u cannot blame a foreign government for ur own country 4cking u over . We have billions of naira siphoned from our budget which should’ve catered for those needs without requiring any foreign government’s aid. Just look at the image below , if we are not ready to fight against such issues , then we are not ready . Feeling sad about Trump turning off the tap on some of the funds that are still being diverted will not change anything . Even the so called aids , some of those items still get diverted . That’s how u will see them selling mosquito nets with inscription “ not for sale” in the market .
|
izzou:The problem with ur police/army analogy is that we do not have control over aids received or witheld by the US, unlike we having a hold on scrapping or not scrapping the police/army. The fact that we are relying on another country to provide basic things such as health care, education and food shows we are already 1,000,000 years behind. Whether we like it or not, we will get weaned of this undeserved "free meals" one day because we just cannot be babies forever. If any African country goes to shiit because the US withdraws its aid to third world countries, it just shoes we are not ready. The problem is a lot of people don't know how bad our leaders have done us dirty. I was reading a finance report recently and I saw where the author mentioned that in 2020 Nigerian Naira exchanged for N600/1$ and in 2024 when the report was prepared the Naira now exchanges for N1,600/1$. Conversely the Indian Rupee exchanged for INR84/1$ in 2022 and in 2024 when the report was prepared the Indian Rupee exchnages for INR77/1$ meaning that the Rupee has gained against the dollar. The Indians must be really doing something right because if two business men get funds to invest; one in the Indian economy and the other in the Nigerian economy. It is obvious the Indian investor is already ahead because he doesn't have to worry much about foreign exchange risk unlike the Nigerian investor who is already on the backfoot due to the foreign exchange risk that may make his business management decisions look poor no matter how much he tries. |
izzou:Well, I don’t know much about the NGO side of things over here but we have been hearing how some of these NGOs are front for clandestine operations in the troubled parts of Nigeria . Any way u look at it, something has to give . |
semid4lyfe:If that will bring peace to most part of Africa where the NGO has been used as a front to destabilize , then so be it . Let the people in the NGO sector lose their jobs so real peace can happen o. What one has been reading about the NGO sector and insecurity has not been pleasing to the eye at all |
Fkforyou:So a team named man city cannot overturn a 3 goal deficit when u still have 10 minutes and added time to go ? Dey play ! The coach that asked them to keep the ball for as long as possible knows what he is doing. Recycling the ball between defenders and midfielders is safer than passing to an attacker who may overturn possession while trying to force a dribble . |
raumdeuter:This guy definitely has mental illness. ![]() |
[quote author=iamoyindamola post=134005750] normal calling for pass be this na |
iamoyindamola:Normal calling for ball with hand wave is different from saying he’s frustrated na . Na wrong English dem use write the post then |
iamoyindamola:Ur post said he was frustrated . |
Fkforyou:So because he came in at the 80th minute they must pass to him and if he overturns the ball to the opponent while trying to dribble the whole team must go under pressure ? Did u not see how we held on to 2-1 lead in the first leg only for us to concede at the last minute ? The defenders exchanging passes is a right decision which the coach obviously sanctioned cos that’s the only way to draw city out of possession and facilitate us lobbing a pass that will catch them unawares . That’s exactly what happened when Rice eventually played the pass to him. A young player like him that wants to succeed at a top club must learn to be patient and play to coach’s instructions like senior players are doing . |
iamoyindamola:If that’s how he truly feels , then he’s not ready to succeed at Arsenal . We are leading at 4-1 , we are in total control of the of the game and trying to ensure we contain city till the end of the match ; he has no reason to be looking for personal glory but for the success of the team . It was obvious Gabriel and Saliba were trading passes just so we can retain possession and prevent overturning of the ball to city lest they counter us and get back in the game . |
iamoyindamola:You did not read to understand my post , but to argue with me . Go back to my post and see the point number 2 ; the force applied was proportional . The man shot the boy twice to be sure he was dead and shot the remaining 3 at the van that had the other teenagers who were obviously armed as well. The police usually considered proportionality of force/threat to life in such circumstances before deciding whether to press charges or not. If the police decides to press charges in this case , the man will will and then for back to sue the police in a civil suit for his legal fees and compensation . That’s why the police adjudged it self defense and move on. |
iamoyindamola:The answer u seek is in the body of the news article . The teenager attempted to rob the elderly man with what looks like a real gun, the elderly man brings out his own gun and shoots the teenager before he could carry out the robbery or harm him. The police will not be pursuing any prosecution against the elderly man because in the face of the law he has not been deemed to have committed any crime . Why ? Here is why : 1. As at the time of the incident the elderly man was under the impression the object in the hand of the teenager was a real gun and that the boy was willing to shoot the elderly man to dispossess him of his belongings . 2. The elderly man shooting a gun in response to the teenager pointing a gun at him in that instant is deemed to be proportional . A gun is a gun and is capable of killing a person no matter what make it is . If the gun with the teenager turns out to be a fake gun , it doesn’t change the fact that the elderly man thought the gun was real. This is because the man does not have time to be deciding whether the guy in fake or original . 3. The man shot to incapacitate his assailant ( the teenage boy) and didn’t go the extra mile of let’s say maybe smash the boy’s head after the boy was already dead on the floor . It was quite clear he (the elderly man) just wanted to get home to his family and only took out the boy who wanted to make that impossible for him. So in summary it is self defense and not manslaughter . |
Theflint1:That was why I suggested that the whole marital crisis had a hand in how his career later turned out to be . He just seem to have his head elsewhere since the whole thing play out. Even tho he released more music/album after the incident , he just wasn’t himself |
A40:You are just forcing this packaging yarns and I’m not buying it. 9ice had at least 3 good albums that did well and it’s not like all 3 albums were released between the 2006-2009 window u are referencing as ur talking point . 9ice fell off like a whole lot of artists who are now old takers . There’s no one single manual to blowing up and staying relevant in Nigerian music industry. Even if u have machine pushing u, once ur time is up it is up . If it’s by packaging and having someone pushing ur work , any random artist signed by Kennis music should be at the top of the industry and others should be subservient under them . I noticed u mentioning Asake doing well because of YBNL pushing him , do u know how many artistes the same YBNL pushed that never blow/stay relevant ? Who was pushing Kizz Daniel on the other hand ? There so many random small boys that are blowing up today without any known popular record label pushing them sef . There’s no singular manual to commercial success in naija music industry jare |
Unlimited22:😂😂😂 Citadel people sa make una buy striker and out score opponents 15-14 na the way to go |
Una just get yeye defenders sha ! |
Amigoss:I listened to overkilling on slow beat recently , Omo Djinee really cooked with the lyrics of that song . |
A40:What packaging did he give his first 3 albums that made them blow ? U can argue that 9ice fell off , that 9ice’s work wasn’t as quality as they used to be or he lost his mojo; but talking about packaging that one no enter at all. I already mentioned it that artists like Olamide kept on pushing out works after works and they were in our faces . Even when some section of fans weren’t 4cking with him and some section of music listeners claimed he shouts when singing ; he kept in doing his thing and never rested . People like 9ice went out of circulation and even their most loyal fans forgot about them. All those talk about packaging na just cap jare. |
A40:This is not true . You are making it sound like 9ice is some shitty ass Yoruba singer whose song/vibe can’t be enjoyed by non Yoruba speaker/Nigerian . That’s not the case . Songs like Gbamu Gbamu are not local as u are making it sound . Collabs like Street Credibility will rival any top collabo of any naija artist u may want to argue have more packaging than 9ice . The truth is 9ice just fell off and that’s that . It has nothing to do with not having packaging or his local pattern |
