Same way my family can't send her away, we have dos and don'ts in Yoruba na I am sorry for this statement but in the video we can grab the tribe they are from, so many things can cause this outburst sha The wife could be an OSU or the husband family are pushing for another wife.
For the life insurance, it's my wife I will put na Who else will I put Omo! I don see Yoruba wives disrepect their brother-in-laws well well o. It's not even about tribe, when a woman is angry she can have such outburst. The thing is we don't know what the guy did that made the wife react in such ways. Like u said the lady may have seen a chat between her husband and his brother talking about another wife, that alone can trigger the wife to go berserk on him. Until we get the full context of the video, we will never be sure whether the woman's outburst is justified or not. |

Accountability is not by asking silly questions that your government will laugh at or make you look like a fool while answering. It is in asking an informed sensible question. Not asking the minister to account for a money/expense that was not budgeted for. Show me the law that classified security vote . You claimed it is classified up there , provide the law, statute or regulation that makes it a classified government expenditure . Let’s see how sensible u claim to be . |

iamoyindamola: How many of Mr eazi do we have? I prefer looking at it from majority See as u use style dodge the question 😂. But on a serious note we don’t really know what led to their argument/altercation . We don’t know if the man had gotten on her nerves and she just had to put him in her place . If we know the origin of their misunderstanding, then we would be able to put things into perspective . You should also know that there are some men who are weak and don’t know how to put their wife and kids first before any brother or sister . For example if u work in a good organization where they do life insurance for all their staff so that when a staff dies, the insurance company pays the beneficiaries of the staff a lump sum of money for insurance benefits ; it is ideal for u as a man to put ur wife as the beneficiary . This is because ur wife is the only person that can take care of ur kids like u would in the event of ur demise . However , I have seen some people making their brothers and sisters as beneficiaries . Such people , when they die and insurer pays the brother or sister , the wife and kids will be at the mercy of their siblings who may not really care about them . These are some of the mistakes some men make . |

If you don't know that there are classified government expenses then you are ignorant. At least you ought to know about the popular security votes common with your governors. It is classified. Whether it is properly spent or not is a different ball game, but my point is that there are classified government expenses.

Same way the wife is expected to tell her mom or siblings to move when they overstay. It's common respect. They are both wrong . The man has no business overstaying his welcome in his brother’s house . The wife too should not be shouting and disrespecting her brother-in-law. That’s why I said as a man it’s better u Dey chop 1 meal a day in ur one bedroom apartment based on ur hustle than for u to pack to ur brother’s big house where u will be eating free food and free insult served by the wife . There’s nothing as good as u going to visit ur brother and going back to ur house at the end of the day . The wife no go see u finish and there won’t be any reason for her to disrespect u. Let us just forget it, this country can never grow because as some people are pulling the string to the right, another set are pulling it to the left Their own is just to stan their fave and chastise anybody that dares to hold their faves to accountability. I don’t even think it has anything to do with whether APC , PDP , LP or any other party . The thing is both Dangote and NNPC have engaged in so much propaganda to the extent that people just picked a side and chose to defend whichever side of the divide they picked . There are people who bought the narrative that Dangote’s colorless PMS in the best in the world and it must be what everyone use in the country . These set of people believe NNPC and importers are Dangote’s mortal enemy who want his investment to go to dust . Then there are people who welcome the NNPC’s PMS as an alternative to Dangote’s which they believe will checkmate Dangote’s penchant for monopoly and premium pricing . ObaIgwe1: I repeat that meeting was not a press briefing, most times press are allowed to cover senate committee meetings, but if in the wisdom of the committee or the person called upon to give information, they think sensitive or classified information will need to be shared, then it is expected they have that discussion off camera. This is not strange or new anywhere. Except you believe there should be no classified information in government, that will be a different debate altogether. The laws allowed classification of information everywhere at the moment in almost all countries of the world.
The bold question you also asked also showed you and Ningi have little knowledge of public finance. The fact that Wale Edun said over $20bn was saved from removing subsidy does not mean the money was saved into an account to be given account of.
Let me give you an instance, my office invested heavily in solar 2 years ago and one of my managers said said the solar we installed has saved us millions of naira meant for PHCN and diesel. Imagine me asking him to come and give account how the money saved from using solar was spent. That is a stupid question to ask because the there is no longer a budget or account for such expenses. While it is true is that using solar has saved us millions of naira, that money is not existing somewhere to give account of. It simply means the company by not spending money on PHCN and diesel, now have more profit or have more money to invest on other projects or company expenses.
So removing subsidy only saved the Government billions of money that they would have budgeted and spent on it. Mr Edun can estimate it because we know how much was spent the year before under subsidy. But after removing subsidy , the government is not putting the money saved in a special account to be given account of. they simply stopped budgeting and spending money for subsidy. That only give them more money to share between the different arm of Government to budget and spend on other things.
You can ask question about government spending on palliatives and other projects and how it affect the people, but the money for such thing is a different budget not from a dedicated subsidy account. mixing it up and asking the way you and Ningi is asking shows a level of ignorance in public finance. At this point I can see u are just waffling and playing around semantics while trying to make an unreasonable and untenable excuse for the minister . Nothing concerns me whatever you spent money on in ur office because ur office is not Nigeria ; a country whose finance all citizens have a right to demand an explanation for . The finance of Nigeria is not a classified information ; at least there’s a reason why the country’s budget gets published . You people that have chosen to defend government , its agencies and officials will come up with anything just to excuse them from being accountable to the people when they demand same of them . It is really bold of u to be throwing the word “ignorance” around when u are talking about finance with me . lol . You are no different from all this current government’s spokesperson whose MO is to go combative anytime citizens demand clarifications/accountability from the executive arm of the government . |

ObaIgwe1: That does not overrule the fact that the question from the senator is silly or stupidly asked. I was only suggesting reasons Mr. Edun could have chosen to answer the question in private. The more absurd thing are those suggesting he is hiding or manipulating subsidy figures. How do you hide or manipulate what is no longer existing?
The minister didn't run from his job of providing clarification to the senators, he only asked to address them off camera. The meeting was not a press briefing. It is not every information shared between different government arms that are for public consumption or debate. Applicable in advanced countries and even public business organizations like your bank too, they don't invite press for every discussion or release every detail of their finances to the public. That is why we elect representatives that look after our interests. If Senator Ningi (an opposition Senator) is not satisfied with the answers the Minister gave off public cameras, he should say so. We elect representatives to represent us because we all can't be speaking at the same time but our reps can echo our common thoughts and ask the public officers to provide clarifications to those asking point to the public and in public. If they wanted to learn about that information behind closed doors don't u think they would've invited him to a closed door meeting, take down his explanation/talking points and bid him bye? Nobody said he is manipulating figures that does not exist, rather they are asking him to explain to the public how the over $20bn he claimed the government has saved have been spent. Nobody forced the government when they made promises that money saved from removal of subsidy will be utilized for palliatives, infrastructures and other projects that will enhance economic growth. Now he's being asked to explain how far well they have kept that promise and we are being told it's something that cameras must be off before it is explained. Haba! There's no justification for him to have refused to give answers to the question in public gaskiya! |

ObaIgwe1: He shouldn't have asked that question that way in the 1st place. The better and intelligent question is to ask for value added to the government finances and the lives of ordinary Nigerians with the removal of subsidy. His question made it look like there is a special account/budget dedicated to subsidy, someone in his level of government should know better. The question is silly already to intelligent minds, there is no way Wale Edun will answer him directly that will not make him look more stupid.
And should the minister decide to answer the question by paraphrasing the question to sound more logical, he might need to talk about sensitive findings around the subsidy still under investigation, like possible findings of cabals benefiting from the subsidy that are under investigation, and other sensitive issues that should not be discuss in public yet for security investigation reasons.... We actually have no full clue what Wale Edun didn't intend to put in the public yet. But to think it's about hiding figures makes no sense because, there was no budget figure or amount for subsidy to manipulate and in the senate committee he was addressing, there were members of opposition parties there too. You know u have no clue why he didn't answer the question in public, but u've been alleging all day that he didn't answer because the question was a stupid one ? Na wa o. When citizens keep defending public servants and politicians in this manner, they will always continue to shy away from accountability. Wale Edun's job involves him providing clarifications to such questions raised in the hallowed chambers. In case you forget, the senator is a representative of the hundreds of thousand people of his constituency and Wale Edun owes them an answer to whatever question they have about the finance of the country. Except u are saying whatever Wale Edun tells them behind closed doors the senator will then go back to his people to relay same; and this doesn't even make sense. |
