raumdeuter:I think these oyinbo and akata people are quite sensitive; they get overtly emotional. They find it easy to throw away years of friendship and love over the silliest reasons. I'm guessing it's because they are not used to living the kinda communal lives we are used to in Africa. I think generally Africans and Asians value family more than Europeans & Americans. And I'm thinking it's because of the communal lives we've been used to. Cutting off a family member because of political difference is as silly as silly can ever be. Where I worked as Presiding officer during that 2015 election, the APC and PDP party agents at the polling unit are identical twins. In the afternoon, one of their wives brought food in a big plate and they both devoured it together . Like they belong to different political parties, they are brothers and u can tell they love each other. |
raumdeuter:Well, oyinbo people and their culture of calling cops on neighbors over every little thing is always weird to me ; maybe because as Africans those things don't happen here Sha. But I understand Ur point that definitely anybody that has that kind of attitude like u described will definitely have less people warming up to him. That being said I think oyinbos get too emotional and always avoid talking to their parents over the flimsiest reasons unlike we Africans. For example oyinbo child can become 18 and just ghost his parents because the parents were tough disciplinarian. Our own culture doesn't would not really permit that...... In fact some of we Africans are grateful for our parents being tough on us. Some of these "toughness" I'm talking about includes merciless beating ó. I remember one time like that when a Christian wake keep was held for an elderly woman who passed away in my area. The mama was a retired headmistress ; when it was time for people to give testimony about her life and times, some of her old students who are married men and women came to the podium to speak about her. One man who is a medical doctor claimed he was a traunt and that it was her counsel after serious beating that kept him straight; he said he is grateful she used the rod to set him straight. Another woman who seem like a successful career woman also said she would've dropped out and gotten pregnant for her then bf if the woman had not made it a duty to police her lifestyle and always singling her out for serious punishment. These things would've been termed abuse abroad and these people would not even go to her burial but in naija they are giving testimony of how that "abuse" has helped their life. In naija I think the major reason some people choose not to speak with their families again is marital wahala. Like when u want to marry a particular person, Ur family objects, u decide to go ahead and then shut Ur family out. I don't know if this is resin enough cos I really don't know how those people who take those decisions feel Sha. I don't know if u know about WofaiFada and her marriage to one of the sons of the Coles of Iru kingdom ( Victoria Island). The groom's father practically objected to his son marrying Wofai based on age difference and did not give his blessing to the marriage. The man even published a disclaimer on the internet that their family has nothing to do with the marriage. Only God knows if such a guy would ever reconcile with his family in the future. |
raumdeuter:I think the only justifiable reason to cut off a parent or sibling is if such individual does something that can jeopardize Ur life/source of livelihood. For any other reason that hurts u, I believe keeping a distance is enough but not totally cutting them off. Edit: I see you have edited to rule out trying to kill the person...In that case, I don't think there's really any justifiable reason to cut off a parent or sibling completely. Keeping a distance is more appropriate. |
larride:3 different groups have endorsed him now including his own Friends of Seyi Tinubu group . I get the feeling he’s serious about the ticket and the only person that can stop him is his father . There’s no smoke without fire , If Seyi was not interested all these “testing of water” endorsements left and right will not be happening . I have learnt not to ignore these obvious signs when it comes to politics . Definitely All those philanthropic work Seyi has been doing , Sharing bags of rice , making financial donations here and there is not just because he likes to give money away . He obviously has political ambition in mind But let’s see what the father does sha when the time comes |
Itsrm:Waste management in Lagos is controlled by LAWMA(Lagos Waste Management Authority) , but the collection and disposal of waste is handled by private contractors under the PSP arrangement( Private Sector Partnership) It simply means the PSP operators are under the control of LAWMA(the government agency) . So it is a public-private sector partnership thingy. |
izzou:Na him na , Isn't it obvious ? ![]() It's just like make Teejay change moniker ni, the moment he starts talking about Africans being unintelligent and dull, u will figure it out that he's the one behind the new moniker ![]() |
chrisooblog:All those Sura, Oke Suna, High Court part of Lagos Island, when rain falls u will see people emptying garbage into the flood despite LAWMA being operational all over Lagos. Sometimes ehn, it is not easy to govern people o especially people that just don't want to behave well no matter the level of sanction u impose on them. It's the same way people cross expressway right under pedestrian bridges |
seankafor:That guy is right, Fisayo may get himself killed sooner or later either by Crooked customs officers, smugglers or a third party paid by them. He's taking a great risk that is not worth it with all these smuggling expose he's doing. The way that IBD Dende expose he did was ignored even with Video evidence ehn....I fear for Fisayo's life |
Itsrm:As funny as some parts of the video was, the man actually made some sense sha. Although he was going overboard talking about not trusting T-Pain again, insisting T-Pain's appointment of Bwala cannot stand, etc. He sounded as if he was subtly threatening T-Pain ![]() He made sense when he spoke about hunger in the land and T-Pain not living up to expectation. Overall the guy seem to be one of the few APC supporters who actually is bold enough to call a spade what it is. He seem to be cut from a different cloth from the other Sycophants that surround T-Pain who keep hyping him that he's doing well. Although , nobody knows if his opinion will change if they use appointment block his mouth sha |
izzou:Omo, PH clean pass Ikeja o. But Ikeja road users dey orderly pass PH road users sha. I see people dey follow one way for front of Road safety checkpoint for PH I shock . Dem no dey obey traffic rules for PH, so we use that one pass them. |
iamoyindamola:Well, as far as extradition is concerned we are at the mercy of the Finnish authorities . FG has said they will request for his extradition , so it will be left to their authorities over there to grant our request or deny . You remember they wanted to extradite Abba Kari to America over hushpuppi matter and the extradition application was thrown out of court in Nigeria . Anyways let’s see how it goes sha |
Itsrm:I don’t think LAWMA is the problem but the people themselves . People will literally dump refuse in places where there is clear sign of “ Do not dump refuse here “ . They pass urine in areas where there is a sign prohibiting public urination . Recently KAI brigade has been going after people involve in open defecation. Can u imagine places like CMS , Marina , Ebute Ero, etc on the island , u will see people openly defecating early in the morning in this age and time. There’s not much government can do honestly , na the people gan gan be the problem . |
iamoyindamola:Terrorism as well as terrorism financing. |
iamoyindamola:He actually committed the crime in Finland, that's why it is their police that is prosecuting him. However, Nigerian government can decide to request for his exradition since he committed those crimes against the people of Nigeria |
Itsrm:I first visited PH in 1998 and I will not even lie, everyone in my family was dazed as to how clean the roads were . It was a very huge contrast to what we were used to in Lagos. Even though Pure water, Takeaway packs and other disposable plastic wastes have found their way into the average Nigerian city in the new millennium, I can still attest that present day PH is still cleaner than present day Lagos even with LAWMA doing serious waste management job in Lagos. |
Itsrm:This one is clear in black and white. What the Federal High court did is illegal by presiding over a case he has no jurisdiction over. That is judicial rascality. You don't need to study law to even know these things. Below is the summary of Federal High court's jurisdiction. Section 251(1) of the Constitution highlights the powers of the Federal High Court to determine legal matters and the extent of these powers as conferred by the Constitution and the Act of the National Assembly. The section provides that “notwithstanding anything contained in the Constitution and in addition to such other jurisdiction as may be conferred upon it by an Act of the National Assembly, the Federal High Court shall have and exercise jurisdiction to the exclusion of any other court in civil cases and matters- |
iamoyindamola:That's what I think too |
Itsrm:Maybe he wants to be hearing people that will be saying " What The 4ck" in french , Spanish, German, etc as he's reading the speech ![]() |
Itsrm:When I was much younger, one senior bros told me that the 🎧 which delegates wear at international conferences is for translation of foreign languages to ur lingua Franca when other people whom u don’t speak their language are addressing the public . Now that I’m an adult , I don’t if that is true or just lamba that Egbon gave me that time . |
Itsrm:Sure , he did appeal and now the justice has been served . I am only pointing it out that the federal high court judge is a disgrace because even a layman on the street knows he goofed with that ruling in the first place . |
What did I just watch ? 😲 Shey na all those technocrat and best brains wey surround T-Pain provide this speech for him too ? |
Akaekpuchionwa2:Those were just IGG (Initial Gra Gra). T-Pain was never going to get National Assembly assent to intervene militarily in Niger’s internal affairs. The northern caucus of lawmakers would not allow it and the southern caucus too knows the cost implication the busy body military intervention would have on the country’s finances at this dire period . It is only their uninformed supporters online that were mouthing such unreasonable suggestions . |
iamoyindamola:She’s smiling because of “Transaction Successful “ |
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has overturned a Federal High Court judgment that barred the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from providing the voters’ register to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for local government elections, which have already been conducted, News360 Nigeria reports.I mentioned it here that day that the Federal High court has no jurisdiction over Rivers state LGA election and their ruling on the elections could not stand . People were saying otherwise , but see now that the judgement had been overturned for that same jurisdiction issue . That Peter Lifu man should be ashamed of himself sha. I’m sure his kids too will claim their dad is the best dad in the world 🤦♂️ |
Segedinho:🤷♂️ Na so we see am . Very soon that Efiok moniker will come here now and claim “Betty was victimized “ ![]() |
izzou:Na true na. Na that time dem go remember all the petition people don write against him . All those allegations wey Sahara reporters don publish about how he Dey import Turkish furniture , Dey carry two wives travel and allocate estacodes to them all on state’s /house of assembly’s account ; na when he wan run that governorship EFCC go begin investigate am. |
Segedinho:Mugu must fall , guyman must chop am ! ![]() |
If there’s Seyi Tinubu , Gbaja , Hamzat and Obasa on the ballot for Lagos APC primary in 2027; One thing that is very sure is that Obasa won’t get the ticket whether he shows his hands early or late . Except Obasa will kill all the Lagos GAC members before 2027 , his governorship ambition is dead on arrival . The only issue Seyi might have is the fact that he’s a practicing Christian while dem Gbaja, Hamzat and Obasa are Muslims . Although Seyi might as well just hide under his dad’s religion but everybody knows he’s a Christian in real life . So it will be interesting to see whether a Christian(Seyi) will be allowed to take over from another Christian governor (Sanwoolu) But I think Hamzat and Ghaja have more chances than Obasa if Seyi decides not to be on the ballot . In fact, I make bold to say that Obasa has a higher chances of ending up with EFCC case by 2027 than clinching the governorship ticket in Lagos . |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:Okay , I used the wrong word maybe I should have used the word “renditioned” and not extradited . The koko is he’s in Nigeria and Malami was unable to prosecute him successfully while he was AGF |
chrisooblog:
In the video of the link above , Seyi Tinubu by his own mouth said his wife is from Anambra . In the attached picture , Leyal Holm on IG said her mum is proudly Anambra . From the wedding video, it appears Leyal’s mum is a Nigerian and the dad a Lebanese . So I figure the people referring to her as Igbo are not sharing unverified rumors , they are only relying on the information made available on the internet by the concerned persons .
|
Roland17:That’s why I was surprised seeing Sean and Okpa celebrating the “warning shot” . Person don talk say he will whack and western country that aid Ukraine with Long range weapons to strike Russian territory , now e don happen and he’s still doing long talk again. |
