Nigerian Breweries dey hit 125 billion naira Revenue in one month.

Na 2 packs of Maltina PET bottle go touch them?
Like..... They are exaggerating with their example and the effects of sale of promo packs.

iamoyindamola:
1000 employees get 2 packs each that's 2000
A customer buys 10000 packs every month, if the employees sell to the customer that's 2k short of the company sales na
Either it's significant or not its a loss if you dont meet your prior month target na
For starters not all staff will sell their own gift packs. The ones that decide to sell won't form themselves into an association to sell to a single customer when it's not like they all live in the same place and take decisions collectively.

Selling 2k less out of tens of millions of packs they sell every month won't scratch the surface like I already pointed out to you. It won't even scratch the surface for a particular region.

For example one of my friends is a manager in the finance team of an indigenous oil companies in Nigeria. Their company allows staff to fuel their vehicle for free just by walking into any of their company owned filling station, present their staff ID and the attendant/station manager will have their tank filled.

Let's say a staff who had his car tank filled decide to get home to draw the fuel into a Jerry can to sell to his neighbor, would you say the company's revenue will be significantly affected because the revenue from that fuel the staff sold cheaper should've been the company's income?

iamoyindamola:
That's what we are saying drop in revenue and if the employees decide selling them too it's a bigger drop
If they are making 50m sales per month and drop to 45m next month it's a drop na and if they monitor sales performance they can drill down to where the drop is coming from.
The quantity the staff can sell will not have any significant effect on the company's revenue trust me.

It's like you are not getting the full picture of what we are saying here. What they are giving away to staff is nothing at all, absolutely nothing to their books.

Imagine every employees have 1 pack of drinks each per month, if they target one of the best customer of the company and sell to the customer every month at a cheaper rate how will the company meet up with sales after losing 1 of their biggest buyer?
We are talking of Nigerian breweries and not some unknown beverage company o. Do you know the volume of sales they make nationwide monthly sef?

Even if the staff get to take home 10 packs a month and they sell it at cheaper rate, it still won't have any significant effect on the sales figure of the company.

It might be undercutting their own market place profit making. If there are over 2000 employees at Nigerian breweries bringing home a certain amount of drinks that they get for free, they can sell at a huge discount and jeopardize the dealers who have to buy at market price

Why will Mama Sunday the beer dealer buy Nigerian brewery products from the official channel when she can befriend like 20 Nigerian brewery employees to get almost free product

Now do the same for milk, biscuits etc
It won't even do anything to their market pricing 😂

Haba!

Do you know how big their market share is? It won't even have a single effect on their market share in a single state out of 36 states.

4 packs of malt and 4 packs of beer x 2,000 staff won't even scratch the surface. This Ur hypothetical example lásán

There are some that don't allow you take them away but can consume to your satisfaction
That one na wickedness na. How many one single staff wan consume at work by himself?

It's just like the dry ration they give us at work which includes tins of peak milk, packs of sugar, packs of milo, Lipton and packs of all these imported cracker biscuits. This thing dey full Medium Ghana-Must-Go back when we collect it.

Imagine someone now saying you can only consume it at work and not take it home. Is that not wickedness?.....How many tins of peak milk and biscuit can I finish in a week?

Instead I take it home and share part of it with my relatives/close family members. That makes more sense and is well appreciated by staff.

The coca cola own, employees are looking for ways to abuse it
They search the workers when going home so that they don't take the allocated drinks home, some now empty the contents into repackaged cellophane and hide it in the body.
I don't know about Coca Cola, but I know Nigerian Breweries always give their staff beer and malt drinks which they produce.

They give the staff on monthly basis, and the staff is at liberty to do whatever they please with it. Some do sell it, while others take theirs home for consumption or to share with friends & family.

A bros (an acquaintance of mine) whose wife is a senior manager in Nigerian breweries told me about this.

Maybe I am the one with a different view.

The problem is not that the staff are stealing it and going to sell. They are chewing it and spitting the chaff everywhere.

All the examples you guys are giving are mostly those who see such opportunities to earn more. What are they earning by chewing Sugar cane from 9 to 5?

Na that part make me agree with Blueraydick.

If it was stealing to sell, I understand. But stealing to chew and spit everywhere? Something else is the cause
You are the only one who understands my viewpoint.

i am saying i have seen ceos with massive packages, managers with big packages , executives with big packages stealing. sometimes with pen, sometimes with insider knowledge - while blowing company policy in your face during town hall meeting.

90% of your fights will be because you are inadvertently putting your hand to bloc an ogas chopping while thinking you are doing your job.

i have seen well remunerated managers cost the company 100s of millions because of they were stealing on project. i have seen senior managers covered up by ogas to the highest level while setting up low cadre workers as the fall guys. i have seen ogs write off company assets so they can buy for themselves

there is no limit to human greed. especially if you can dress it up in corporatese
You are missing the point here. I'm not saying you haven't seen CEOs stealing pens or moving funds by virtue of the position they occupy .

The question is : what are the odds that a major number of employees in a sugar refinery will be eating their organization's raw materials (sugar cane) to the extent that it caught management's attention and they had to put a memo out on it threatening to prosecute them.

A couple of weeks ago my spouse bought two long sugar cane for N500. That is how cheap it is o. It just looks somehow that the employees will decide to go full unprofessional to steal something as cheap as that if we are to assume they are being well paid.

I said I may be wrong o; I am guessing the employees doing that probably think if they cannot get the full compensation package they deserve, then maybe they can eat as many sugar cane as they can in protest to management.

as a former employee - being paid well with good package does not stop people from stealing at all levels from ceo to cleaner.
We are talking about sugar cane here baba! Sugar cane being pilfered by not one, not two , and even not three employees to the extent HR had to write internal memo. 😲

You want to tell me the perpetrators are being paid well and they chose to be taking their company's raw materials without authorization for their consumption?

I doubt o

Atletico are a terrible team. Arsenal will comfortably beat them over two legs.
True! Arsenal whipped them 4-0 at the group stage and it doesn't look like Athletico has what it takes to overturn the result should they meet again in the semi finals.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:57am On Apr 09
GloriousGbola:
well it is technically theft of company property
Yeah I know, it's just that everything about the internal memo is funny ni. grin

I may be wrong o, but I want to believe perhaps the workers don't get paid well enough; that's why they resort to eating the company's raw material for production to the extent it caught management's attention.

Ideally no disciplined and well paid employees/workforce are expected to behave in such manner. It looks like an institutional problem .

We won’t come close this time

I was praying for the game to end 1 nil yesterday or 2-1 ,if it had ended so this time we will qualify

As it is now we are out of the ucl .
Except by stroke of luck or Athletico player(s) get sent off in the second league, it will be difficult or Barca to overturn their 2 goals advantage.

Anyways you guys still have La Liga as a major trophy you can win this year since Madrid has not really been spectacular this season too.

So a Nigerian Soldier is paid 112,000 to fight Boko Haram?
I honestly don't see the motivation for any youth in his right senses to join the Nigerian Army especially at a time they are getting whacked by terrorist groups with superior arms & ammunitions.

Methinks if people stop rushing to take application form to join the army, perhaps the government would do the needful to improve their welfare package in order to encourage people to join.

Then again, I think most youth who join the army despite the pittance they pay them as salary are doing so just because of the so called strong man status the army uniform bestows on them. The "privilege" of intimidating civilians, enjoying free public transport , being unanswerable to civil authorities like the police, etc are the reasons why some young people still rush to join the army.
