I just can't help myself.

I literally read the short notes on Netflix for the series "BANDI" and I just concluded it is not for me. Then I saw a guy on TikTok recommend it as a very good watch everybody should checkout......I then decided to watch and was happy I did.

There are 2 angles to his argument, 1. Study locally vs Abroad and 2. STEM vs Non STEM

The 2nd argument is what fits our agenda. His argument is the currently, the STEM careers make more than non STEM and from STEM, you can easily slide into a Non STEM career. I know people who are lawyers, Accountants, Media personnel, HR (Supposed Non Stem fields) whose first degrees were STEM but you cannot have a Doctor, an Engineer who was not a STEM person

Even when the jobs are contracted out, e.g contract it to Nigeria, the STEM guys in Nigeria will still make more than the non STEM.

Even in Dangote situation, there will be more Engineers making bank than Mass Comm people. Given that Engineers and Stem require specific trainings that others can not have, while in Mass comm, anyone can do it
Anybody that wants to make career choice for their wards strictly focusing on money/financial success is better off encouraging them to develop interest in sports or entertainment.

All these STEM o, branch o or root sef no get level where successful sporting career dey. I would rather have my son be the next Bukyo Saka than all these STEM vs Non STEM "rakatia"

Nowadays once I read the short notes on most of the shows on Netflix and Prime I don't really get gingered to watch them. It just seems like I already know where the show will head and it won't really be interesting.

Well, under PDP utme students were still being kidnapped so...
The minister for defence Christopher Musa said it's because of 2027 elections that kidnapping and terrorism has been on the rise. He said it it is a calculated attempt to portray the government as weak. 😪

In his words: " You don't have to kill the people you want to govern. Why increase violence just to score cheap political points? "

This Sowore person, is he planning to contest for president again in 2027 under AAC or his strategy for fixing Nigeria is to criticize every other member of the opposition?

I'm yet to see attempt from him at campaigning for Nigerians' vote ahead of 2027 till date, all I've seen is him opposing the opposition figures.

Anybody that has an idea of what his "revolution now" ideals stands for and how he intends to achieve it should please enlighten an ignorant Nigerian here.

Going by the news report, it seems he was in the UK where he committed the crime before fleeing to Nigeria. Nigerian authorities are only extradition him to the UK to go face trial for the crime, possibly serve jail term, after which he will be deported.

I felt some kind of relief when mumuduke carry injury
What an awful player, he's always busy yet nothing to show for it
I felt the same relief because I know Arteta will not bring in that small boy if the match is not going into the later stages. I sensed Arteta would not bring the boy in lest they bully him to collect the ball and attack us from there.

Seeing Madueke going out injured forced his hands and our attacking game changed once Madueke was out.

Something in me wants the boy to play a vital role in that city game, but I doubt Arteta will throw a 16 year old boy into the Most important game of the season. He is too cautious

The players love Zubi so much. He too should reward them by stop making stupid mistake
I was surprised seeing Zubi play very well yesterday night. I was really impressed with how he has taken the criticism of his woeguo performance in the last few weeks. The guy seems to be mentally stronger than we the fans think sef.

I think Arteta needs to give Zubi more freedom to make runs into attacking positions. He seems to do it better than Rice sometimes.

That being said, Saliba and Raya were just making silly mistakes at the back yesterday. I don't know where their head was.

When we have the ball in front of their box we keep passing from left to right and then back to midfield. When they have the ball towards our own final third they look so dangerous ; like they will most likely get the first goal in this tie.

One would've thought with Eze playing ahead of Havertz and Odegaard in the attacking midfield role we would be more dangerous than we've been in past couple of matches.

She's not providing value beyond introducing customers to chefs and making a margin for her efforts.

What the girl doesn't seem to understand is that her job is to alleviate the stress of finding a good chef with a great repertoire. That's what she's literally being paid for, and once customers have met a chef they like, she adds no further value to that customer except the chef is unable to meet further requirements.

It's much easier and simpler after introductions to cut out the middleman and split the difference - Chef gets paid more, Customer pays less. They both win.

The problem is her business model not the customers. The pool of customers that can afford and are inclined to hire private chefs in Nigeria is small, and customers willing to do that on a frequent basis is smaller still.

Meanwhile it seems like 1 in every 20 girls on Naija Instagram is a chef.

Her model instead should be charging the chefs a subscription fee for the right to bid for work for her clients whether they get it or not, and then she's making money of both sides for access to the network. If she continues to get customers approach her platform, chefs even if they poach a customer are still incentivised to return to bid for more work. It's still a brittle business model but at least she's providing a little more value either way.
You are nit wrong at all, in fact I always get amused when I see her talk about returning customers because I know a typical Nigerian will just use her service once and then poach her junior chefs (whom are the ones likely to do the most work sef).

I think the only reason she's crashing out is that she expected loyalty from the chefs especially the younger ones who learnt culinary skills under her before being promoted to chefs-for-hire

Nigerians are also part of the problem as a lot of us will try to undercut the guy by engaging his apprentice behind his back. some apprentice may get away with this and think they can do the guys job
This happens alot.

There's this lady I do watch her content on TikTok ; RENTACHEF. This lady is a private chef who created a business out of her job. She has chefs signed to her business whom you can rent and have them cook for you for a private dinner, private events and even as your home chef who would cook your daily meals and get paid for their services.

She makes content of her jobs along with her chefs at her various clients' private residences ( Ikoyi, Banana Island, Lekki, VI, VGC, etc). She gives a glimpse into the kind lifestyle some elites actually enjoy in this our Nigeria with their money.

Early this year I just saw her crashing out in a video she made about how her business suffered seriously last year. Some of the junior chefs she was putting on started taking jobs directly from her clients bypassing the company. This is a brand she has built ; a brand that has Admin staff, procurement staff and other employees that are not even involved in cooking. She runs a proper brand!......

When people probed her asking how did she find herself in such mess, some in the comments section even asked why she didn't have them sign "non-compete clause" and other legal documents that forbids them from taking jobs from her customers behind her.

She opened up that every year all her chefs and other staff members are made to sign those documents obut this is Nigeria. The moment you try to enforce some of those stuff legally, it will be termed as you being wicked and you start getting called out on social media.

She then concluded that it is the customers that are actually to blame most times. Customers always approach her employees behind her in a bid to get their services at a cheap price and those ones get tempted once they flash them cash.

She literally immersed those kids into generational poverty by giving birth to as many as they are. This is Isale Eko (Lagos Island), no portable in big 2026. It took the efforts of an NGO to supply them water that would last them for days.

APC has been ruling Lagos since 1999. The oba of Lagos' son Kayode Akiolu represents Lagos Island constituency in Abuja under the APC umbrella.

If come 2027, you decide you've had enough of APC in the state as a citizen resident on Lagos Island ; you will be surprised the kind of persecution you will suffer for your choice.

The Ọba may threaten you and your choice of candidate with the lagoon as your finally resting place. In fact, political thugs and enforcers who are members of the same community will not allow you come near the polling unit once tbey are aware of your political choice. You would be wondering if these are not the same people that were complaining about portable water just few months ago. You would even be asking yourself what changed? Do we suddenly have water now that election is near? 🤦‍♂️

Gateway International Airport

grin grin grin grin

Our politicians no go kill person.
I don't even understand what they were thinking constructing that road, inspecting for commissioning and finally commissioning without anybody having a single brain cell to tell them what will happen to a road without drainage.

I mean if the contractor was foolish, didn't the Ogun ministry of works engineers inspect the road to see with their eyes that the road the contractor was working on doesn't have drainage?

The stewpid invited the president and other dignitaries to commission the airport last week with the road nit having drainage.

Don't they get embarrassed over situations like this one? Why can't they just do the right thing instead of shirty jobs like this all the times?

Later thew will be bragging about the state's GDP with the terrible road networks all over the whole place. This road wey dem fix, dem still no fit do it right.

Days after commissioning the gateway airport, the road that leads to the airport is flooded. Nature didn't even wait for long before exposing the fraud.
