Obaseki would have never successfully pulled off godfather, he didn't have the streets on chokehold enough to do that.

Besides if e wan do Godfather, is it with a candidate that's roughly same age as him, arguably more accomplished professionally, and better perceived and like than him, that even those that campaigned against AI are still having to make clear that they have no issues with him per se, their issues were with Obaseki.

Civil servants ate good under Obaseki, na dem go miss am pass...he did some good work in the education, entertainment, tourism, ICT and to some extent, health...you're right on him failing in road construction, he missed too many low hanging fruits, the sort of things that'd hit you in the face as pertains governance...his disregard for optics was always an issue, and probably the source of the many battles he found himself fighting.

This ur assessment of Obaseki’s tenure in 2024 is quite in contrast what what u thought of him in 2022. Why?

Did he suddenly achieve all of the bolded above within space of 2 years or what happened ?

And u mentioned Godfatherism in ur 2022 post. Don’t u think Asue winning would’ve amounted to Godfatherism being entrenched by Obaseki who opposed it during his own tenure ?

Politicians are a bummy lot.

I know for a fact that Osagie-Ize Iyamu, the APC candidate would have robbed the state blind. Obaseki wasn't great in his first tenure, but Edo State choosing to give him a second chance was us rejecting Godfatherism and giving him the benefit of doubt given the many issues Oshiomhole gave him in his first tenure.

Obaseki hasn't done enough in Edo State, but at least he's improved the states financial position from where Oshiomhole left it. Hopefully the next governor builds on the little he's done.

The street lights were on when Oshiomhole was leaving, surprised the city slipped into darkness when Obaseki took over, as e don come back, e reach celebrate .

As it stands I can say we are not doing anything wrong as a team.

Arteta just needs to sit down with his boys and tell them not to lose their heads in games. They need to watch out for useless refs dishing out needless cards .

If they can work on that , we will be in a better place .

I don’t think anyone including myself in this instance has anything negative to say about Arteta. This is a disgrace to the league. I expected the players to not even exchange pleasantries with City. I mean how does anyone watch today’s game and not question the integrity of the league’s officiating!
