Passengers in a GUO bus just got kidnapped and the driver shot dead.

U will be surprised that people will still come here and ask u if kidnapping of passengers started under Tinubu 🤷♂️. Sportsweb: Very simple.
I know all fingers are not equal. All those things they listed there are luxuries. I know how I was raised according to the size of our coats. 600k is more than enough abeg, infact it's too big for simple family man way no send all those luxuries.
What's data for family, DStv sub and all those stuffs am seeing on the list.
My aunt and her husband combine bring in about 300k monthly, they still live in comfortable flat and also enjoy life while training their kids. They plan themselves and cut their Fine Coat according to their size jare Mention specific items on the list aside DSTV that is a luxury for a middle class family. For Ur information, family data is the same thing as the data u and Ur spouse use for one whole month on Ur iPhone or laptop or smart TV. Ur aunty & husband combined income of 300k is prior to this current subsidy removal and floating of naira . No? Have u asked her for money the way u normally ask her before now? What was her response? Did she give u the same amount she usually give u? The discussion is not about the fact that people earning below 600k today will die of hunger ; the discussion is centered on the fact that if u earn 600k or below before Tinubu's subsidy removal and floating of dollar ; u will struggle to adjust ur spending pattern without groaning. Na from there different people just dey pick their own narrative dey run with am. |

GloriousGbola: In 2012,nigeria was earning more than today.
There is a lot of revisionism about the subsidy removal 1) from the chart the subsidy grew by 400% from 2010 to 2011. 2) i remember that at the time moman wrote an open letter complaining about the proliferation of brief case companies that were making subsidy claims.
Simply put under gejs admin the subsidy became a free for all where connected people would supply product on paper and get paid.
When it got out of control, rather than initiate punitve measures gej opted for the lazy way out by removing the subsidy without notice. I remeber it as it was on January 1. You may remember as well because Nigerians who traveled for Xmas were stranded. It was a complete mess and an own goal.
What should have happened is someone should have accounted for a 1.5 trillion increase in a subsidy. Instead gej opted to sweep it under the carpet and pass the fallout to Nigerians without any warning. Tinubu removed subsidy while I was watching his inauguration, before his inauguration speech finished I drove out to look for fuel and all filling station ahd already adjusted their pump & even locked their gates. Is that not worse than removing subsidy during Xmas break? Have the brief case companies been identified and prosecuted under APC government since 201t when they took over? How many people do u know that have been jailed by APC Govt in the past 9 years for being responsible for.subajdy scam? It's now looking clear now that APC just came up with a lot of mumbo jumbo just to discredit Jonathan's Govt only for them to gain control and plunge Nigeria further down the abyss of hardship. |

GloriousGbola: We have had the discussion on subsidy over and over.
From 2016 nnpc has been the sole supplier of petrol in Nigeria. The fg stopped the subsidy in 2015 when Saudi crashed the price of oil to kill the US fracking industry. Price of petrol was 100 per litre or thereabouts at the time.
It was a peculiarity, low oil price, low revenue, low petrol price. As oil prices rose, revenue rose and petrol prices rose as well. This is actually when in hindsight Buhari should have bit the bullet and not returned us to subsidy via undercoverry. The pain of subsidy removal would have been behind us and we would have transitioned.
But it is what it is. So Buhari should've proceeded with subsidy removal irrespective of 2hat anybody says but Jonathan in 2012 shouldn't? Why? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 2:26pm On Feb 10, 2024 |
GloriousGbola: The fg was owing nnpc 2.3 trillion naira in subsidy payments . Nnpc had stopped remitting to the federation account because of this. So what do you think would ultimately have happened if the fg had not removed the subsidy. All Buhari ultimately did was delay the inevitable till after his exit. Which is actually a ceo business strategy. Let the next guy clean up the mess. I will be long gone and it will be someone else's problem I thought subsidy probe has been on since God knows when. Does Buhari's job in the past 8 years not involve probing NNPC and outstanding sunsidy payments? Nigeria is a company that has been under the same management for the past 9 years. No? |

The real shege will start when new products hit the market. People are not ready yet for what's coming if things keep going this way. Most of the hike in prices of imported and locally manufactured goods we are still dealing with are increment on goods traders already have in stock . By the time the traders restock prices will jump further higher . |

Now I'm forced to pay 19,800 to watch the same thing I was watching with 5k and with the devaluation of the currency, only God knows what they have in store for us. The devaluation has affected a lot of things that people are not even talking about. Early this week I worked on a procurement which we processed this same time last year when we overvalued the dollar at N700/1$ (out of our own volition ) . That same transaction we had to value at N1500/1$ out of necessity now. I had to do analysis/shalaye in the mail to the oyinbo oga that was going to approve it for him to see that the dollar value remains the same but na naira don pafuka shoot the price up to an increase of 114% of what it was last year in naira . I fear people will lose jobs in the private sector in the coming months ; especially in companies where they don’t really have a working organized union . Promoters of companies will explore retrenchment as means of staying afloat . A lot of companies will even default on credit facilities ; banks’ business recovery units go tire sef |

Jodera: Lol... I'm talking middle class here.
I grew up going to pry sch in the early 2000s and I'll grade my parents(esp my dad as a little above middle class) and the pry school I went to is a Catholic school in Abuja. The school fees is high wrt the other schools my peers were going (as at 12k when I graduated in pry sch and other schools as at then ranges between 4-7k) yet I don't take snacks to school. The only people bringing snacks alongside food were the very rich kids and you can easily spot them. I dunno about now but even my uncle that sends his kids too doesn't add snacks to it and no, it's not a public school.
It's all about instilling it sha. If our parents hear that we beg or look person food longingly, we don die for house that day. And God bless you first let you steal.
Well, everyone with the way they view things sha cos we were actually taught that taking snacks alongside food is luxury. And funny enough, every of my siblings and uncles are following that approach. It's a big reason I found it surprising hearing it here, I never knew it's now normalised.
As for the TV part, I still see smart TV as luxury. Most average/middle class families I know of, only few uses smart TV. Most na all these wall mounted plasma TV. It can be wide too. Shey no be just to watch TV and dstv mostly ni I attended primary school in an area that’s not even considered urban in Lagos state yet almost all the kids came to school with snacks . Those who don’t come with snacks either come with cash to buy during break time or beg from others . My parents do not believe in handing a minor cash for whatever reason , so we go to school with our own snack from home coupled with lunch . To me that’s not in any way luxury . Even when I serve for a federal government owned boarding secondary school , the students there could still afford snacks like fish roll, egg roll, wara and the likes despite having their lunch covered by their boarding fees . So I find it strange that u see snacking as luxury . As regards Smart TV , I still don’t understand why u see it as luxury sha . In fact I see it as if u are saying using a Windows 10 PC is luxury in 2024 when there’s windows 7 or Windows XP. |

I had no choice. Is it really luxury? What alternative do I have. Tell him not to look at them when they eat? Don’t mind Jodera . As if we all didn’t have classmates whose are known for begging . Jodera: The bolded, I see it as something new gen z upbringing sha. In our family we don't do it and even while growing up, I nor my siblings weren't exposed to such sha and we didn't see any big deal in that. But no matter how we want to look at it, it's still luxury. It's just one of those luxury instilled as necessity by most parents. Just as some people can't do without having/subbing DStv in their home because they think it's necessity.
As for the others, aside personal surfing which I use on my phone, most of the others is just once in a while and it's not most families that have this home internet sef. Average Nigerian family man doesn't have smile or swift at home in this our obodo naija. As for Smart TV... Lol, that's really luxury. Except one have it before cos he's once Rich, what would make a family man earning like let's say 200k have smart TV when he can buy normal wall Lcd TV?
Na egbons full here oo I believe we are talking about a middle-class family and not an extremely poor family na. Smart TV was still around N350k before Buhari left. That is not expensive, even civil servants can afford to get them via membership of co-operative societies. If someone earning 600k cannot use Smart Tv, then who can afford it then? As regards the snack, u would not want ur child to beg other kids because u are being principled or frugal. Snacking is something almost every kid does. U can't just go zero on snacking if u don't want ur child to be begging other kids or worse still, steal from others. Na ur pikin teacher sef go advise u to try dey give the pikin if at all bobo and coaster biscuit make other pikin for rest |
