Roland17: The Sultan is a hypocrite, I am sorry! Where was his voice when his brother Buhari was in charge and the country struggled with insecurity, kidnapping, double digit inflation, hunger, massive corruption and other economic woes? If he decides to unleash his people, let him go ahead but he must ensure they remain in the North, Patapata Asiwaju and APC should suffer the consequences during the next election cycle for failing the nation.
Didn’t Buhari take Asiwaju to visit with him? Where was his voice then? Now that Asiwaju has inevitably increased “shege” to “shege banza” for everyone , he has found his voice because a northerner is not in power? These people are part of our problem. Obvious issues like Illiteracy wasn’t a problem when Buhari was in power but immediately a southerner takes power, illiteracy and poverty in the north is important.
The North powered Asiwaju to the presidency, they should enjoy the consequences of that decision alongside the entire country. This recent noise coming from the North about their suffering should stop because it is not isolated and shouldn’t be the reason we should address the nonsense going on in the country. Yes the Sultan is a hypocrite no doubt! He chose to keep quite while his brother was there and was even ecstatic about Buhari handing over to Tinubu. But do u know what else the Sultan is ? He is better than our southern brothers who are educated (some to postgraduate level sef), who could obviously see evidences of Buhari's misrule happening right before our eyes; yet they sang his praises to high heavens and justify every mis-step he made for 8 good years. The same people jumped onto the ship of Tinubu almost immediately he declared for presidency and continued their paid or unpaid(as the case may be) service of hyping the next disaster-in-waiting in the person of Tinubu. At least five delegates from both states told The Gazette in separate interviews Tuesday that they were offered American banknotes to support Mr Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. The delegate provided information under anonymity to avoid being accused of anti-party conduct that could carry severe disciplinary measures.
Whereas Mr Tinubu gave Ogun delegates $25,000 each to induce his acceptance as the party’s presidential flag-bearer tonight, Adamawa delegates said they received $10,000 each from Mr Tinubu’s surrogates. The delegates have converted on Abuja starting last week ahead of the primary scheduled to be held June 6-8.
“Ashiwaju’s people came here and they said we should support him because he has the best chance to defeat Atiku Abubakar,” a delegate told The Gazette. “Then they said they didn’t come empty-handed.”
Delegates from Ogun confirmed getting $25,000 from the former Lagos governor. They, however, said they rejected $5,000 from Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s surrogates.
“The vice-president’s people initially said he didn’t have any money to give and advised everyone to vote their conscience,” a delegate said. “But suddenly they came back to say he wanted to give us $5,000 to support our transportation and hotel accommodation.”
The delegates admitted they rejected the money because it was smaller than what Mr Tinubu, perhaps the biggest contender for the ticket, had already offered. The delegates shared pictures of the cash gift they said came from Mr Tinubu with The Gazette.
At least one delegate claimed being shortchanged by Mr Tinubu’s surrogates.
“I don’t know what happened but they only gave me $9,000,” the politician said. “I am working now to get the balance from the person they sent to us.” https://gazettengr.com/apc-convention-tinubu-pays-ogun-delegates-25000-adamawa-10000-delegates-reject-osinbajos-5000/All of these and more happened before and during APC primary as well. Foundation member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Osita Okechukwu, has pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly come to the rescue of Nigeria’s currency, the Naira, before politicians depreciates it out of recognition.
He noted that a nation’s currency is one of the critical indices of measuring the general health of its economy, stressing that when the currency nose-dives it leads to hype-inflation, gross unemployment and abject poverty, thereby worsening the nation’s security.
In a statement made available to journalists, Sunday, Okechukwu, who is also the Director-General (DG) of Voice of Nigeria (VON), decried the dollar rain during the recent Presidential primary of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the National Stadium Abuja.
He cited the withdrawal comments of Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, a financial guru, saying that President Buhari should support the use of consensus method to ensure that the forthcoming APC presidential primary does not follow the PDP’s highest bidder Dollar Rain.
In his speech before withdrawing from the PDP primary, the former banker, Hayatu-Deen, said, “it is, therefore, based on personal principles and with great humility that I have decided, after wide consultation, to withdraw from this contest, which has been obscenely monetised.”
Okechukwu stated: “Albeit, our sister opposition political party has every constitutional right to elect whoever they want as their flag bearer; the Dollar rain is worrisome as noted by Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, who dubbed it obscenely monetised presidential primary.
“Sincerely, I congratulate His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar on his emergence from the opposition party primary. But, as a patriot and stakeholder in the Nigeria project, I am worried by PDP’s induced Dollar Rain, which led to unprecedented depreciation of the Naira.”
Therefore, Okechukwu called on President Buhari to consider the consensus option to be adopted in the APC presidential primary election to save the Naira.
He lamented the monumental harm PDP’s Dollar Rain did to the nation’s economy, saying “if that could happen in a party with about 731 delegates, imagine what will happen if APC with about 2, 322 delegates is allowed to indulge in Dollar Rain.” https://dailypost.ng/2022/05/29/save-naira-from-obscene-dollar-monetised-presidential-primaries-okechukwu-begs-buhari/This man called it then o. https://www.nairaland.com/8001094/cant-fold-arms-again-nigeriansAnd let’s not take it for granted; people are quiet, they are quiet for a reason because people have been talking to them.
We have been talking to them, we have been trying to tell them things will be okay and they keep on believing.
I pray to Almighty Allah that they will not one day wake up and say we no longer believe in you, because that would be the biggest problem because we can’t quieten these people as traditional, spiritual leaders and diplomats forever.
We have reached that level, people are very agitated, people are hungry, they are angry, but they still believe there are people who can talk to them, they believe in some of their governors, some other traditional rulers, and some of their religious leaders.
“Fortunately, some of us double as traditional and religious leaders.
“So, we have this onerous task of reaching out to everybody, calming them down, and assuring them things will be okay, and they should continue to pray and pray and still do something good because prayer without work will not bring anything.”
Abubakar also expressed concern about the millions of unemployed youths, noting that it poses serious danger to the country.
“We must find jobs for our teeming youths that are sitting idle and I have said it so many times, we sit on a keg of gunpowder, having teeming youths millions of them, without jobs, without food, we are looking for trouble,” he added. Sultan of Sokoto subtly telling Tinubu that they ( Traditional rulers ) are the ones holding the leash on the masses preventing total breakdown of law & order over the current hardship imposed by Tinubu's administration . |

I agree with u that there's no accountability in governance in Nigeria and that's why we are where we are today . However , I don't think the amount of military gadgets and wares in the hands of non state actors in this country were supplied by military or ex military men . There are videos of customs showing announcing they seized arms, ammunitions and military wares imported illegally into the country . It may as well been gotten through military wares and gadgets imported into the country illegally which customs have been bursting once in a while . U remember I said I don't think whoever is supplying the bandits military paraphernalia is stealing them from the military directly , rather it's more of a case of those items I listed illegally and same sent towards the way of non state actors . Jodera: Aside this early season in which he was underwhelming (ie that's due to him reportedly playing through injury) he's been giving consistent performances.
Last season when he started playing as a RB, he's been giving good consistent performances at least a 7/10 rating. He's not giving an elite rating like them Saliba, Rice and co(the 8-9/10 ratings) but he's been good. Since after the winter vacation, he's been back to his good form also.
Big reason I said he underrated. He's just executing his job well albeit silently. Na that " Aside " gan gan be the reason why he's not being rated like other players by fans . U confirmed he was underwhelming for some parts of the season ; oya how do u expect him to be rated well like others ? That's why I said he's not underrated , rather he's rated based on his performance over time which u urself has confirmed has not really been above 7/10 .
