Actually I don't think tax is the problem. I think the STEALING OF TAX is.

Local govt regularly shake people down. Sometimes legally, sometimes illegally. All that money is going to their pockets. Or at least most of it is. Local govt is already collecting money from every trader in the market or along the road.

What Tinubu needs to do is fix the system so we can bypass all the fking touts in the system. Of course the touts will do their best to fk it up.

Any system where you are paying someone cash, you know the money is already gone.

It’s called multiple taxation. There are so many multiple taxation in this country which the government tacitly supports .

The government needs to think outside of just increasing taxes. If I move money from my union bank to my Access bank accounts , my access bank account will get debited N50 stamp duty for receiving money . Why ? Is that done anywhere ? Why must I pay tax for receiving money that has earlier been taxed ? If I buy anything from the remaining funds I will still pay 7.5% VAT. If I use a public transport out of the money , I will pay tax via a higher fare due to the owomida agbero collects from transport owners . The government has increased import duties recently so it makes it difficult for me to import materials and start producing goods for exportation .

If these and more continues , no amount of Tinubu blocking stealing of tax will make the nation great . That is even if he can succeed in blocking stealing of tax with someone like Akapabio as senate president , someone like Ganduje the chairman of his party , someone like Atiku Bagudu his minister for budget and planning . 🤦‍♂️

You can't build an economy by removing subsidies for the poor and raising taxes and interest rates at the same time. Taxes do not grow the economy---production does. The poor must not perish for a nation to develop! Unless you are playing someone's script!!!

Company can just decide your job is not making enough profit for them or not adding value. You lose the job instantly

In most employment contracts in Nigeria , it is usually stated that the company has the right to terminate the employee’s appointment without incurring any liability for compensation or damages if the employee is found to be guilty of misconduct , dishonesty, embezzlement , fraud,dereliction of duty , if u divulge company’s trading secret and accept monetary gratification from outsider.

Anyting aside this , the company will have to pay u compensation if they terminate ur employment at will.

That’s why when companies do mass retrenchment or individual sacking , they usually pay compensation. If the job get union , the union can contest the compensation package by either shutting down the company’s business activities or heading to the courts .

As regards the job advert, initially I didn’t know the job was a PA job because I was trying to figure out what MT virtual assistant meant . Most PA jobs are like that sha , I don see CEO wey dey office around 10pm in Ikoyi and his PA’s dey with am. I just dey wonder if those guys have their own lives to live at all

I once heard story of a jehovah witness that refused blood transfusion because it's against their religion and died after

This is not even a story, I know a woman who stayed close to our house who was a Jehovah Witness. Her husband had children from his first wife before he married her.

She waited for a long time and didn't have a baby until she got pregnant and was in critical condition at Ayinke house, Ikeja then. She needed blood transfusion, her husband didn't approve of it cos they are jehovah Witness.

She lost the baby and nearly lost her life but survived. Years later her husband died and she never remarried for a long till her eventual demise too. Even before she died her husband's older children had been planning to have move out of the house so they can sell it( They eventually sold the house after her demise).
