At this point , I guess this is where we need our media to come in. For all we know this guy may just be capping , speculating or saying it the way it is with a little garnishing here and there .

I believe a national daily like punch or vanguard should talk to oil and gas experts to get a true picture of things and then do an editorial on this issue . I believe when that is done, the federal government will have no choice but to respond and tell us exactly what is going on. We barely meet our OPEC quota as is and we also have loans taken with our crude oil as payment.

So again do we have enough crude for Dangote?

That’s a question neither me nor u can answer . Only Tinubu the substantial minister for petroleum can answer that question .

But if u ask me ehn, it’s looking like the generally held believe that “Dangote refinery will bring enough FX inflow into the country to ease our FX problem “ is nothing but a hopeless hope.

It’s obvious shady deals go on within the NNPC just like every other self regulatory government agency in Nigeria .

Agencies like CBN, NNPC that don’t have any independent body checking them, they are prone to do a lot of shady stuff and make sure it doesn’t leak out.

Nigeria’s crude oil production as at September 2023 is around 1.3m barrels per day and Dangote’s refinery has a capacity of 650k barrels per day .

Yes, Nigeria has enough to give but I don’t know if Dangote is obliged to get all his crude from Nigeria or he is at liberty to buy from any other country that sells crude .

I also don’t know if Nigeria is obliged to sell all he needs to him or they have other long standing buyers they need to sell to first which will affect what they will be able to sell to Dangote eventually.
