I don witness person come down from his venza , bring out pistol, shoot one area boy for leg and whisked the guy way at Ikeja along bus stop . It all happened within twinkle of an eye. I’m guessing the man is either a DSS official or a military guy on mufti . It was that day I know that dead body go surplus if guns become legal in naija |

It's a movie nor a series but Good God, the story and ending is something else.
Barry Keoghan from top boy plays such a devious demonic character here.
Highly recommended. Thanks , I will check it out . Funny enough , I saw it this morning on Prime but just overlooked it cos the pix of wasn’t looking catchy . |

He started a good thing and I hope other governors can follow through with it Yeah, I think only him and Makinde championed the Amotekun course before other governors started keying into it. It was understandable that Lagos already had LNSC tho. He may not be perfect, but he tried for that one. |

raumdeuter: I think it also helps if it's detected early. Ikeme being a footballer where they do medical checks frequently will likely catch it earlier than just a man waiting to be sick before he goes to see a doctor by that time the disease go don spread That's true. To buttress ur point, I remember at the early stage of Akeredolu's illness there was a viral voice note of the first lady warning a particular woman leader to stop bringing herbal concoction for her husband. She accused the woman of being demonic and all. So I guess initially the illness was being treated as a spiritual one(being Africans that we are) rather than a major medical issue |

afrodoc2: The diet many diabetics are placed on in Nigeria is often times too restrictive.
Diabetics can have whole wheat and grains. What they should avoid are those refined sugars, white bread, soda drinks. The aim should be more about having a balanced diet with foods in moderation, especially carbs and fats, not totally avoiding so many foods and making life unpalatable for the poor soul. I'm guessing the reason they do that is because they are aware of our lifestyle choices in Nigeria. U know in Nigeria most people do not engage in activities that will help break down their body sugar and all. So maybe they just tell u to avoid those things knowing fully well u won't eat balanced diet and ur lifestyle choices are poor. I don't know for sure sha |

Overweight people should even be eating wheat bread and not the normal bread. Well, I'm not a food scientist or nutritionist, but I know Semo is not just wheat. I know Semo has been processed and may include all these preservatives that are not 100% healthy. I don't think any doctor will recommend Semo for a diabetic; rather they will recommend plantain flour. |

One thing people need to start doing in Nigeria is to go for regular checks. There are things that can be nipped in the bud if addressed early enough. I would say the cut-off should be around 30yrs of age for Nigeria. Once you hit that age you should see your doctor once a yearly for a check and carry out relevant tests. There are some important things about our health we are oblivious about in this Nigeria. I think it was in 2022 a doctor told me that once an adult male crosses the 40-age mark, his chances of having prostate cancer is high and as such every man is advised to regularly check their PSA level to detect prostate cancer early so that it can be well managed before it degenerates. There are so many people both educated and uneducated who don't even know this. |

afrodoc2: It is not that straightforward.
First of all, there is no single “cause” for cancer. I use the term cause loosely because in many cases those things don’t cause cancer they only increase your risk of developing it.
Let’s take cigarette smoking for instance. I once had a patient who had smoked 7 packs of cigarettes daily for 40yrs. It was not lung cancer that killed him as many would expect, but COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). I currently have another patient who smoked 1 pack daily for a few decades as well. She currently has lung cancer that has spread to her liver and brain. The first guy smoked far more but didn’t get cancer. Why? Because it is multifactorial. Family history and genetics plays a major role as well.
Breast cancer in many cases has no obvious cause but it runs so strongly in some family’s genes that some women remove their breasts before they develop breast cancer. Using contraceptives might increase risk but I would not say it CAUSES it.
For skin cancer it is mainly exposure to sunlight that increases risk but there is also a very strong genetic component. Rarely affects blacks cos of our melanin levels.
It is a viral infection that has been linked with cervical cancer. That is one cancer that has been tackled quite well in developed countries.
Prostate cancer also has a strong genetic component and no real causes as such but it is more common amongst blacks.
Stomach cancer also has a very strong genetic component but smoking, alcohol, and other factors can be involved.
Blood cancers are very diverse but most also have a strong genetic component, but there is sometimes also a link to smoking and radiation etc
As you can see there is not a single cause, and there hundreds of types of these cancers.
Overall most cancers have a genetic component which we can’t do much about in most cases. Then there are several other factors which vary depending on the type or cancer. If there is one thing one can do to reduce overall cancer risk though, it would be to stop smoking. I have not had many cancer patients who never smoked. Hmmm... Na wa o, las las we come this world to die ni. I was going to ask if Leukamia wasn't treatable cos I remember Carl Ikeme had it and survived after Chemo and all.....But I guess u already answered my question with the talks about Genetics & some of these things being multifactorial. |

There are 1001 cancers that are nasty like that. Despite the billions being poured into cancer research when the wrong type nabs someone, there is no way out. Omo! But is it that the medical scientists don't know exactly what causes cancer or what ? Because my believe is once u don't know the cause of an ailment, it will be almsot impossible to treat/cure it. |

afrodoc2: You also have to consider that they give birth to far more children in the north.
Also the north is more than double the south in land area. For the north to look as crowded as the south it has to have to 2-3 times the population of the south. Population density is not population. Yeah , I know they give birth more than southerners and they start giving birth a younger age . But we actually need a fair census to be sure of what we know once and for all. |

I think there's more to him than what is being peddled on social media, the men in that video are heavyweights . Omo , the way dem dey take share that Rivers state money ehn. The politicians just eat fat from 13% oil derivatives , the state’s IGR and other windfalls while the common men just dey survive . There’s nothing that stops Rivers state from dragging with Lagos state in terms of development because Rivers is not even as densely populated as Lagos state and the money is there . Imagine make people wey contest election in 1991 still dey feed fat from the state purse in 2023 🤦♂️. There are factors that suggest the north may not be as much as hey claim like the hot/cold weather condition A40 mentioned , the high rate of child mortality in the north , access to affordable healthcare ( there are some places in the north that or u to even see health center u will trek kilometers, imagine how easily people in those areas can die from minor health challenges ), etc. If they allow a fair population census to be carried out, we will be really sure if indeed the north has more population than the entire south once and for all. But I’m afraid that may never happen . |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 2:21am On Dec 26, 2023 |
A40: I've always argued that this census and population thing Nigeria is running is a massive scam. I've been to Niger and as massive as Niger state is na borderline ghost town
Nigeria is the first country I've seen where there are more people in the hotter regions than the cooler regions.
Places like Chad and Niger in close proximity to the North similar in culture and with almost 5x the landmass have far fewer population. Makes no sense. Na dem Tafawa Balewa start the nonsense at the inception of an independent Nigeria . A census was carried out in 1961 and the preliminary results showed the population of the South exceeds that of the North. Tafawa Balewa’s NPC controlled FG rejected the result and scheduled a recount for 1963. Whether northerners started giving birth in hundreds and thousands between 1961 and 1963 nobody can tell; but somehow the North population suddenly shot over the roof and from that moment population census turned a useful political tool. This is because if the initial figures were accepted , there would’ve been re-adjustment of federal constituencies which would’ve put more federal seats in the south as against the north. |
