Odegaard was compared to De Bruyne last season, Martinelli was a honorable mention for FA team of the season, Saka was close second to Halland for player of the year, last season we were top of the league in Christmas , this season we are still top of the league again around that time, which show’s consistency- growth, we are through to round of 16 in champions league for first timers after almost 7 years.
So, are we there yet? No.
Is there room for improvement? Yes, I agree with you.
But you are wrong for saying they aren’t growing.
Even in their games, I’m seeing some level of composure and maturity in them, even when things are difficult for them…I’m referring to Saka and Odegaard.

Reservations about his decision making in the final third , he has obviously grown from the player he was 2 years ago.

He would even talk about some close shave he had with them. There was one he told us of how they pursued him for kilometers on bike in the bush while he was on his way from farm. He said they burn down villages, kill any adult male on sight, leave adult female as widows, forcefully recruit teenage boys and take teenage females as bride. He said his own village had to form vigilante and resisted them several times they've tried to overrun them. Imagine living in constant fear, imagine what it does to one's psyche.

In my PPA a guy from Plateau whom we later became friends told me little about some of these ethnic cleansing going on in Plateau. He told me that right from when he was a toddler there has always been cases of different indigenous people and Fulani's being at loggerheads. The Fulani's would always want to claim ownership of lands where they were accommodated as guests and the people will resist them leading to rounds and rounds of hostilities that always lead to death and reprisal attacks . He said they are used to government declaring dusk to dawn curfew when the crisis starts right from a young age. The way he told me " Dem dey kill us, we sef dey kill dem back well well" really shook me. Like u can tell he has been toughened by the amount of violence he has witnessed from his teenage years. I won't be surprised if today he keeps a certain part of his income to fund his people's local militia.

I just quoted an appeal court judgement which actually law as of today since there’s no judgment from a court of higher jurisdiction overruling it. U don’t need to obtain any permission from anyone to organize a protest in Nigeria .

ANPP (2008) 12 WRN 65 which held “certainly in a democracy, it is the right of citizens to conduct peaceful processions, rallies or demonstrations without seeking and obtaining permission from anybody. It is a right guaranteed by the 1999 constitution and any law that attempts to curtail such right is null and void and of no effect.”

Nigeria is a country that pretends to practice democracy but in actual sense is a jungle where the strong prey on the weak .

The police/government’s job is to ensure the protest is not hijacked by non-state actors , it’s not to preempt violence and deny the citizens their fundamental human right .

Zinny defended the way he knows how to. His positioning/ when defending is poor, he struggles with keeping the line and lacks recovery/ pace when beaten. Inverting him against intense teams that keep possession only exacerbates his deficiencies.

He said: “Just to announce to Nigerians the fulfillment of our pledge to bring on stream phase one of the Port Harcourt refinery by the end of 2023 and the subsequent streaming of phase two in 2024. We happily announced the mechanical completion and the flare start-off on the 20th of December 2023.”

The source said: “Imported Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) was fed into the bottom of the flare to provide fuel, to light the flare instead of the normal flue gas produced from the refinery.

“This action allowed a picture of the flare to be taken, pretending that the refinery had started operations. The picture was taken within a few minutes. The flare was shut down immediately after. The rehabilitation work was not completed! That cannot happen in the foreseeable future.”

Another top official of NNPCL in the refinery told LEADERSHIP Sunday: “The Port Harcourt refinery cannot make any products in the foreseeable future, because the units cannot take in crude oil for processing. The rehabilitation work has NOT been completed. The federal government and NNPC know this truth but will not admit it publicly. In fact, no crude oil has been supplied to the refinery to date, for the same reason.”

Another senior official said: “Look at the flare! Look at the crude cargo! Look at the inspection visits! All meaningless.”
