As an example, I used to order water in a tanker once a week. Five years ago it was 1500 per trip. Today I think it is 12 to 15k. A large part of that cost is diesel.

So the same may be happening here. Especially with Iran war raising energy costs

I don't know about ur area, but in my area PSP in conjunction with LAWMA have progressively been increasing the waste disposal bill we pay. At least recently I needed utility bill to update KYC with my Bank and I saw the difference in what we were paying in the past to the current payment when I collected the LAWMA bill from a neighbor who handles the collection/payment.

We pay LAWMA bill months ahead, there's absolutely no justification for the nonsense one is experiencing from these operators and the ministry of environment that has failed to hold them accountable.

If you don't collect people's waste despite paying the government appointed collectors, how do expect people to manage their waste disposal? Don't they know people will dump it in water ways, gutters and other public places either when it is raining or in the dead of the night?

I looked through Wahab's epistles, and I didn't see where he talked about how the refuse will be collected from people's homes within a specified time frame to solve the problem. All I see was him rambling and posturing like he had everything under control when in fact he doesn't.

How can a responsible government be fully aware and comfortable that people's waste have not been evacuated for months by the private operators the government imposed on them without the government coming up with immediate action plan to solve the issue since? How?

If you take a drive through private residential areas and estates you will literally see drums overflowing with refuse in front of people's houses beacuse the PSP operators have not been coming to collect refuse. The same government made a law against people burning their waste and also prohibited disposing waste through wheelbarrow pushers.

Now instead of finding ways to show workings, tbey are setting up task force to go about arresting those who decide to dump their refuse in public since their private space is already overflowing with waste. In matter of days now they will arrest some of them, post their videos online and those who want to run tribal or political agenda with the videos Will run with it as if that will solve any problem.

For the past 6 months waste disposal situation in most parts of Lagos has gone from bad to worse. We pay for PSP operators to collect refuse from our homes on a weekly basis, but you hardly see them once in 2 months sef.

Nobody has bothered to explain why they don't come as often as they do anymore and no alternative provisions for waste disposal provided to the people. Some people have resorted to dumping their waste in public spaces like markets, roundabouts, road medians, secluded areas etc.....

Instead make Tokunbo address these issues he's busy doing political banter with Gbadebo. I don't know if they don't know that some of these things are actually embarrassing to say the least.
