GloriousGbola:That is the normal conquest war that happened pre-civilization which happened almost everywhere on the planet from Rome to Greece to Ile Ife to Dahomey to Mali empire etc. I am talking about a real country/nation that is homogenous and living in peace in this civilization era. Look at countries like Lesotho, Botswana, Swaziland, etc. These countries are homogenous ethnically and you barely hear anything about them being at each other's necks. As small as tbey may seem, tbey are ruling themselves and making their own little progress without the kind of suspicious hostility we have towards each other in a country like Nigeria. If we go farther from Africa and look at other homogenous countries like Japan, Poland, etc they are all doing well for themselves...... That's why I say using just South Sudan and Somalia that are outliers in the data set doesn't cut it for me. |
GloriousGbola:South Sudan is a product of Sudan's crisis what were u expecting before? Are u saying for example a Yoruba nation will suddenly turn Somalia? Why not use examples of other homogenous states that are living in peace? Why using just those two outliers? |
izzou:PS: I don't know if they are right or not, but people clamoring for Nigeria's division along the major ethnic lines are doing so because they have the following beliefs : 1. If for example there's an Igbo nation, a Yoruba nation, Hausa/Fulani nation, etc.... People assume that the declvelopment of these individual nations will be priority to the leaders of each nation instead of selfish motive of embezzling public funds before the country's treasury runs dry like most Nigeria's current leaders are doing. 2. Common people will pay more attention to holding their leaders accountable instead of defending them blindly against criticism from members of other tribes like we currently have in Nigeria. For example: some Yorubas today don't care whatever cilorruption that is going on in Tinubu's government, they are just satisfied a Yoruba man is ruling. They believe if the Hausa/Fulani stock could support Buhari for the full 8 years he was running Nigeria aground while his ministers like Malami, Hadi Sirika, etc plundered the country's resources ; then why can't we Yorubas do the same for Tinubu? 3. It will be easy for citizens of any of the new nation to bandy together to fight against any set of corrupt leaders. The idea of divide and rule which the current Nigerian leaders use that works effectively in a multi ethnic country like Nigeria won't work in the new country. |
Spy360:No, I do not. The mob's match will be framed by the government and pro-government forces as an attempt to forcefully take over government instead of waiting for election period to legally use votes to change government. If you are a good student of history who can make deductions based on historical data, then you should know the march would never be successful ; the government just won't allow it to. All the government need do is to recruit a pro-government set of protesters who will engage the anti-government protesters in an altercation that may possibly lead to breakdown of law & order. This will give security agents excuse to come in and disperse the crowd. You should know that Nigeria is not as sophisticated as those countries you see protesters carrying out peaceful protests for weeks or even months. Na fellow Nigerians like me and you government go use scatter your lofty dream of a million march on Aso Rock |
Spy360:Which sense? He's saying Tinubu is not the problem, but the weakness of the opposition is. Shey Amaechi is not one of the people weakening the opposition? In fact, seeing Amaechi is the so called opposition is a turn off for some of us. |
I believe this favorable Leverkusen fixture is one of the advantages of coming 1st in the group stage. I guess Arteta knew what he was doing pushing the boys by starting the senior boys in most of our fixtures all through the group stage. I just hope we will take advantage of the favorable fixture which is due to hardwork and advance to the semi final before we meet a seemingly tougher opponent. |
izzou:Only God knows what goes on in that Amaechi's bald head sef. So he actually believes he has what it takes to rule Nigeria after riding side by side with Buhari while he was running the country down and gifting Niger republic railway?..... Smh So with this yeye endorsement now he believes he will lead the opposition to unseat Tinubu bá? |
This one wey Don J dey in form like this..... 🤔 |
raumdeuter:He contested against Tinubu in the primary but shortly after the primary he congratulated Tinubu and promised to support him https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/535817-updated-im-committed-to-your-success-amaechi-congratulates-tinubu.html Whatever trailer later passed their middle , na the two of them sabi. |
iamoyindamola:It's still epileptic , not really stable like it used to be in the past. |
izzou:Elrufai wey dey craze. If he had scaled through the ministerial clearance and screening , I'm sure he would've been writing articles upon articles to discredit the opposition members today. Suddenly he knows about FG paying bandits (As if Buhari's government wasn't doing same). He suddenly cares about government using security agents to clamp down on opposition members and dissenting voices as if he didn't do exactly the same less than 4 years ago when he ruled like an Emperor over Kaduna state. Anybody taking Elrufai serious does not deserve to be taken serious at all. |
GloriousGbola:The fact is all of them were APC members who supported Tinubu's emergence as APC candidate and eventual winner of the 2023 presidential elections. Whatever happened afterwards among them (behind closed doors) is not our concern. We saw all of them support Tinubu's presidency by their actions and inactions. They can't come out now and be singing in a discordant tune that only resonates with their selfish interest. Abegi! |
Shegzdave:The guy dey draw salary from APC government in Ondo state, what do u expect before? |
izzou:They just want to use Nigerians' head for selfish reasons. If u talk now, some people will say u must align with them if u don't want Tinubu to continue as president in 2027; they will say if u don't align with these hypocrites then it means u are working for Tinubu's continuity. shior! I detest people like Amaechi and ElRufai; anybody seeing them as the only way is just allowing himself to get fooled by these political gangsters for their selfish reasons. |
Spy360:I've just read through the article; Amaechi didn't make any sense at all. Person wey serve under Buhari and kept making excuse for that government while he was running Nigeria to the ground is here talking about "Urgent Call to Save Nigeria’s Democracy". Did he not remember democracy while Buhari was ruling like an emperor? Why does he suddenly care about democracy now if not for his own selfish reasons? You see this Amaechi, El-Rufai, Malami, Lauretta Onochie and other Buharists now forming opposition figures, we no supposed dey hear their voice when Nigerians dey complain about this administration at all. |
izzou:At least he hasn’t lost all human emotions by refusing to take responsibility for his actions . I will commend him for having the courage to apologize for his gaffe sha |
iamoyindamola:I don’t know o, just hearing about her now sef . |
This is one of the reactions to Seyi’s insensitive comment which forced him to apologize . This is the kind of pain some of us have seen friends gone through, hence why we’ve speaking against insecurity challenge from Buhari’s era down to Tinubu’s . How can anybody be saying because Buhari bought Tucano jets that means he tried his best to fight insecurity or how can someone say Tinubu is doing his best to solve insecurity problem when we read about kidnapping almost on a daily basis ?
|
Seyi Law has apologized for the insensitive statement he made at the podcast about Nigeria being safer than it was 10 years ago ; especially the part he said “Is it today they’ve been kidnapping people from their home? “
|
GloriousGbola:Now u are getting my angle. If there's nothing between them from the onset, I don't see how she would've had a whole N250m tied down for contract she already delivered 12 years ago. He entered into the contract with her as a normal citizen o and not as a governor or official of the government. Even government no dey owe contractors up to 12 years before dem go raise alarm. |
afrodoc2:N250 million. If he's owing her that much, I'm assuming that's like the major part of the contract sum. |
GloriousGbola:Executing campaign contract for a politician is different from placing your bet on a politician hoping to reap 10 folds na. A contractor is a business person who should at least have collected majority of the contract sum from politician before anything. What if the politician ends up losing the election ? What happens to your capital already tied down ? There's something definitely not right with this woman and Umahi's matter. I have come in contact with at least 2 people that have done souvenir sourcing for politicians in the past and to the best of knowledge they collected fee for their service that same campaign season, not hoping the politician will win and he will reward them in 100 folds. |
izzou:So she do campaign souvenirs on credit ? She no really wise like that o. What if something had happened to Umahi in the past few years, how would she have recovered her money ? Person dey owe that amount of money for 12 whole years ? What kind of businesswoman ties that huge amount of money down as debt owed to her business? |
GloriousGbola:Must be nice. ![]() |
GloriousGbola:Nigerian politicians Sha! I just watched the video and trust me, I don't really see what Umahi is allegedly lusting after in that woman's body. I mean she's not some Agbani Darego/Omotola/Ini Edo level of beautiful. Not like she get some special features wey make her a spec. How come the man has been trying to bed her at all cost for the past 12 years and counting? This is giving the vibe of university lecturers who would do everything to make sure they shift the pant of a female student even when you as a male student can't really see the exciting quality in that course mate the lecturer wants to dishonor himself and risk losing his job over. But I'm curious, what did she sell to Umahi that led to him owing her that money? |
Segedinho:It was that part I confirmed Seyi was not smart at all. And that was why I think seyi went there hoping it be usual twitter banter of Agbado vs Obidients..... How can he be so dull to ask "When was the last time you heard about terrorists bombing "? Anybody who listens to news or read news online can easily tell that Boko haram and ISWAP are regrouping with recent IED attacks on Nigerian Army positions in the northeast. The fact that Seyi asked that question shows he didn't know what he's doing on that seat |
GloriousGbola: ![]() That's what some Pentecostal pastors call "do something crazy for the lord" |
Segedinho:He came to my attention during the last few years of Obaseki's tenure and the Edo state election period. I noticed he was always prepared when he's debating politics with anybody. He might eventually bought over by the dominant political parties in the nearest future sha. I have a feeling he might turn out to be another Festus Keyamo with time. |
izzou:Yeah, Seyi went there on his own accord; he probably wanted to show his loyalty to Tinubu's mandate. He thought he would meet those guys that they abuse each other on twitter over politics. So he can abuse Obi and the other person would abuse Tinubu in return. If he had known he would be meeting someone who wanted to have a real discussion with him, something tells me he wouldn't have gone. |
Segedinho:He was thinking Idris is all those banger boys wey he dey follow do "faaja " on Twitter like Harry and co. If he had been watching clips of Idris before now, he would've declined being paired with him to discuss Tinubu matters. |
izzou:The guy just dey make things hard for Tinubu instead of making it easy. ![]() Shey Tinubu wey no dey relate with any verifiable exetnded family members apart from Wale Tinubu no know wetin he dey do ? He wan carry Tinubu go where he no know. ![]() |
afrodoc2:This was my first reaction when I saw the first clip of the podcast/interview. I mean I struggle to laugh at his jokes when he was actively doing comedy shows and skits, but this particular appearance on Daddy Freeze show funny pass all his jokes combined together |
