They whole stop and search exercise is just an avenue for them to extort once Ur paper is not complete or they notice an infraction on Ur part.

I remember how well meaning Nigerians called for Buhari to resign when he was running the country aground; Femi Adesina and APC political Hallelujah boys were doing exactly what Bayo Onanuga is doing now. They were busy calling well meaning Nigerians names, referring to them as wailers and said "Sai Baba for life".

Today, most of those APC Hallelujah boys agree Buhari did actually took the nations years back as far as economy, security and overall governance is concerned.

Now instead of these same people listening to voice of reasoning, they are once again calling people who genuinely care names .

This is funny.

It's not funny but actually sad. It just shows Kidnappers/bandits/terrorists are running amok and controlling the lives of people in the hinterlands.

You should not find it funny because if the whole thing is not checked , people living in the city may end up being victims when they are done milking people in the hinterlands.

I think this AIT version of the report is better and more understandable than what punch newspapers put out.

So indeed, there was IED attached to a vehicle parked on a street. The vehicle owner is a new resident of the area who just parked in few months ago; he got to the place he normally parks his vehicle, starts his vehicle only for the IED attached to underneath of passengers' side to detonate early in the morning.

There are some real security issues here which I believe our security agencies should learn lesson from and advise the public soonest.

1. Houses in areas like Mushin, Yaba, Ebutte mẹta, oyingbo, Isale Eko, etc parts of Lagos hardly have parking space. So, the residents of those areas who own either private or commercial vehicles regularly park on the road/streets overnight where the vehicles are left unattended to. This alone is a huge security threat and fertile ground for mischievous elements to carry out attacks except there's a deliberate effort at community policing in Such areas.

2. The owner of the vehicle just moved into the area and from what the baálé of the community told press men, not much is known about the identity of the car owner, his day job and his inclinations. It may look like poke nosing, but I think it's high time people get interested in their neighbor's business. You need to know who Ur new neighbor is, what he does and what leanings he has. See something, say something. Landlords too need to do more background check on their potential and incumbent tenants.

3. The police actually need to focus on the main purpose of "stop and search". They should not just collect N500 or N1000 and wave vehicles to pass at checkpoints; they should actually check people's card for explosives, contrabands and other illegal items.

4. Finally, people should remain vigilant and raise alarm when they notice strange faces and unusual activities in their area.

I read this story, but it just wasn't clear. I saw a post earlier on Twitter where the police said the bomb space was a false alarm.

Now seeing punch writing this jumbled story even makes one more confused.

But for most people, and also me, he shouldnt have been at the world cup. He and gis partner surely knew that the child was gonna come within this worldcup period..so it was selfish of him to declare himself available, and then check out from camp.

That slot should have gone to another luck chap, but Doku carry greediness occupy am..just to mark register.

I don't think it's greediness on Doku's part, in fact I believe the Belgium FA must have been aware of his wife's impending delivery when they called him up to the national team. They probably had an agreement with him to allow him leave should his wife deliver while the world cup was still ongoing.

Doku is arguably Belgium's most in-form player this year (Thus far) and the Belgium FA would probably be willing to make the gamble they are making now. They must have concluded that no other player can fit into his shoes.

PS: This is my personal opinion and believe on this matter.

A Norwegian player also had his first child two days back and it was facetime he used to chat with his wife. What exactly is Doku going to offer there in person that he can't do with video chat.

Personally, I don't think any man should miss the birth of his child on account of "official duty". A man should be there to experience that great moment and should be by his wife's side to offer moral and emotional support.

If the Norwegian player is okay being there via facetime, all well and good. It doesn't mean Doku must be compelled to follow the "facetime model".

He probably informed them and they were open to allow him leave should his wife's delivery fall within the period the world cup is still on.

Methinks people always judge others unfairly without knowing the full deatils/situation of things. It happens mostly in football and I get it's because of the emotions fans attach to the sports. But sometimes fans need to keep their emotions in check, sometimes a little humanity matters abeg!

Expected Due Date is an estimate that is not always accurate. Some babies come weeks after EDD.

You will be surprised to find out that some people deliver 3 weeks after EDD while some much earlier. What if it's doctor's advise that the baby should be delivered few weeks earlier than expected.

But why are people dragging Doku for withdrawing from the world cup for birth of his child? Even people doing the toughest of jobs are allowed leave to attend to attend to such important family issues.

Most people would want to argue that the waste was most likely cleared as Wahab claimed but was replaced by the people who want to "spoil his work".

The truth is all of these points to current failure of the waste collection/disposal arrangement. The waste collectors have failed to go to people's homes to collect their waste for months now. So some of the people resort to placing their refuse in public places to force the hand of Wahab and his boys to show their failure in broad daylight.
