I think after the dust settles on this issue; our government across various levels need to have some serious discussion and take some hard decisions.

1. They need to fast track and give priorities to terrorism cases in our law court. Let suspected terrorists be tried ASAP and let those found guilty be convicted within the shortest possible time.

2. Let's have a law that prescribes death sentence for convicted terrorists/bandits/kidnappers whether they killed their hostage or not. Make the crime a capital offence that attracts capital punishment

3. Let it be illegal for any state governor to refuse to sign the death warrants of convicted bandits/kidnappers/terrorists. Over time a lot of governors have refused to sign death warrants of prisoners in their state. I think the last governor that signed a prisoner's death warrant was Adams Oshiomole while he was governor.

Anybody who would not sign the death warrant of a prisoner should be impeached as governor. It should be a very solid ground for impeachment, and the house of assembly should not hesitate to declare a governor' seat vacant if he doesn't sign a convict's death warrant within a week or two.

I believe it's because these guys stay in prison for years, that's why their comrades will be emboldened to kidnap people and be using them as bargaining chip for their release like these yeye terrorists are doing with these Oyo victims.

I've never understood the logic behind it. I've always seen news of Governors demolishing houses of suspected criminals; I think Wike did something like that while he was governor, the Current Edo Governor demolished houses of Suspected Cultists, I think one or two governors in the east did something similar in the past.....I don't just get the whole idea sha.

It's not like dmolishing the house will deter anybody from committing crime in the future. To me, it's just unnecessary waste of resources demolishing such properties.

Exactly, you know the drill. There are more towns with mixture of religions in the southwest. The fact that there are other religions other than Islam that will always oppose the whole Sharia arrangements, it won't be as easy as it is in the north at all.

If you say Muslims are a majority in Ilorin, one can agree with you. Muslims are not majority in Osun and Oyo. There are Chirstians, Muslims and Traditional Worshippers in the Southwest. Then other two religions (Christianity and African Traditional Religion ) will always resist full blown Islamization like u put it.

I watched the video and from my understanding what's he's talking about is community policing /having local vigilante as the first line of defence.

His suggestion actually makes sense and some community in the south already have that. There are some areas in this Lagos that have armed guards. There are areas you can't get into once it's 10pm except u are a resident.

Like where I stay currently, we have so many gates that are mounted by guards whom you will need to get past before u can access the residents.

I remember the night I had to rush my wife to the hospital for the birth of our baby around 1am....We passed like 3 different gates manned by armed guards on the way driving out of our area to link main road. That was the day I saw the actual effect of the security bills we've been paying.

That's what is making everything quite annoying. Where I used live before, we have a field where we play ball ; we call that field "Church and mosque field".

That is because close to the field are two plots of land, one plot belongs to church which has its building on the land and the second plot has a community mosque on it. The two houses of worship coexist side by side.

That can only happen down here in the south and can never ever be "allowed" in the north by northern Muslims.

You cannot build or rent a property for religious activities outside that piece of land.

I also served in Kebbi, the village I served is close to Yauri. We always go from the village I served to Yauri market to buy things.

There was a gist that the Winners Chapel in Yauri was being built close the main road that enters Yaruri if u are coming from Niger state into Kebbi state. The church was already built to lintel level before the Muslim community rose and asked for the construction to be put on hold.

They kicked because they believe it is improper for a Church to be located close to the road at the enterance of the town. They can't stomach the idea that a church will be the first thing visitors will see when they enter the town. So had the winners church forfeit their building and decided to allocate another land to them which is off that road (Inside inside). As at 2014, the uncompleted church still stands there while the new church had since been competed at the new site.

They later named that area Ungwa Church (Which means church area) and that was the only place they allowed churches to be built. If u go there u will see CAC, Winners, RCCG, MFM, C & S, and even Olumba Olumba . The downside of that decision is if there's a religious crisis on a sunday morning, they can literally wipe off the Christian community if they descend on that area with weapons unannounced.

How can we know all these things and somebody will now be gaslighting us online? As much I hate everything about NYSC, I am actually grateful for the fact that it made one travel and see reality of things in some other parts of the country. The realities u will never believe if someone else was relaying it to you .....as in you will think they are embellishing the story.

In my opinion, a massive mistake was just throwing the gates open for asylum seekers. A lot of asylum seekers were genuinely escaping the Assad regime but had not shed the same ideology that is the cradle for terrorism. It's just that the rescue efforts efforts buttressed our point all along that it's lack of willpower that's made security forces not to rescue the various kidnap victims amongst the common man over time.

In the US, the unlimited data is not unlimited in the sense of the word at least for mobile data. For my home i use Fiber and they promised 1GB . I typically use different companies for home and cell phone in case of outage so I have a backup network.

There have been times my home network provider was having issues and I'll use my mobile internet as Hotspot after a while they start throttling it. You cant use it for streaming without a significant lag even though its called unlimited. Next thing they will try to sell you an upgrade plan even that upgrade plan still get limit

My cell phone bill on 2 lines is about $200 a month

They were left off the hook and Deborah's blood still cry for justice till date.

You cannot gaslight some of us and claim it's because we southerners look are northerners with one kind eyes. We've met non Muslim northerners who are victims of the the Sharia system and they regret the introduction of Sharia in the north.

In that vein, we southerners will resist every plan to introduce Sharia down here cos we are not ready to lose our freewill.

For your information, the constitution supercedes any state law be it Sharia or customary law sef. So some of those nonsense u termed as "respecting the northern Muslim culture" that clashes with the position of 1999 constitution of Nigeria, the state government are actually acting in contravention of the law.
