The correlation is that he is saying contrary to your opinion, internet is not reliable in most rural areas unlike what you claimed that its reliable all over Nigeria
Are u reading my post with one patch covering an eye? 😂

I literally said Starlink is reliable everywhere in Nigeria and he's talking about local ISPs are not reliable ( which I know and the reason why I mentioned Star link in the first place)

BlueRayDick are you seeing this comment? Internet might not work where the bulk of votes come from but that's the exact thing we should use
It's like u are confusing my post with someone else's. Did u see anywhere I suggested using any local ISP?

I literally mentioned Starlink that works everywhere in Nigeria for the purpose of electronic transmission.

This is not 1999 but 2026. There's nowhere there's no internet in Nigeria. Even Boko Haram and ISWAP have access to internet in places farther than Sambisa forest.

Your excuse of poor internet connectivity holds no water in 2026. Let INEC spend the money they've budgeted judiciously and let's see if things would turn out better.

It's unfortunate that u will argue for continuity of the shiiit show we saw that happened in Rivers state during the last election. That u don't see big deal in glaring alteration of election result sheets says a whole lot about Ur values.

It is well.

You have to be realistic with your situation. Because Mr A can do this thing does not mean Mr B can do the same. You have to evaluate your circumstances before you start comparing and doing. I am from a poor family, I cannot go to school and blow money like a Davido. If I do that, I will go broke quickly while Davido will continue living life without knowing any setback

Some countries have electric transport system, will you advocate the same for Nigeria at this point, when domestic household electric use is even epileptic. Nigeria has not solved basic needs we want to start the advanced ones. Have we sorted out the infrastructure needed to run the electronic transmission of votes? Ordinary JAMB CBT exams we are bungling it steadily, but na that election transmission which if bungled can light the country on fire we want, So we can pretend to be a nation doing the things first world, advanced technology societies are doing.

We don't have stable electricity, we have shaky internet, Network security is poor, we don't even have good roads, we cant even secure the country properly but na that electronic transmission is the next thing because we want to play Pretend firstworld

Its when you do not think holistically that leads to big elephant wastes the litter Nigeria.

A very good example is states building airports, If someone says airport is not the priority for Ebonyi, Ekiti state now, Someone like you will say "You are abroad, every state abroad has 10 airport why don't you want Nigeria to also be there, you justify dysfunction at home" .
Have they considered the situation of the states in Nigeria and how viable airports will be in some states? Its that type of thinking that led Osun Ekiti Ebonyi to be building airports, every state now has airports which they spent billions on but cant get traffic nor planes there. They are more likely to have cattle grazing in those airports than planes

Same thing can be said about Tinapa resort and many other white elephant abandoned projects

BTW Anyone who wants to go crazy and run mad is free, that is the criteria to become Peter Obi's special adviser anyway
This post is premised on false equivalence.

Electronic transmission has absolutely nothing to do with stable electricity.

I worked as presiding officer in the 2015 elections and BVAS was used. That particular device has a battery life that lasted from when accreditation started in the morning till voting ended later in the evening. When ballots were counted and results were documented in both ECA form manually and on the BVAS electronically, the device still had enough battery that can run it for several more hours. This is to tell you that there's already technology available that can be used for electronic transmission, it's not some white elephant project that will not be thought through before implementation as you are alleging up there.

All that is needed for real time transmission of result to the existing infrastructure is a stable internet system which I already pointed out to be available anywhere in Nigeria via star link. INEC has offices in almost all the LGA's in the country and NYSC posts corpers to almost all the 774 LGA's in the country. You can't tell me that star link cannot be procured for all INEC offices in both remote and cosmopolitan states for the execution of electronic transmission of results. INEC has a humongous budget for the election, let them spend it aright.

I see you made excuse of sub-contracting our internet services to Elon Musk may lead to foreign interference in our elections, but I take that as just an excuse for us to continue in the old ways that has continued to fail us and embarrass some of us who are still appalled at the abomination that happened in places like Rivers state in 2023. There's absolute no internet in the world that can't be compromised and u know that. All we are saying is we don't want to be seeing the kind nonsense we saw that happened in Rivers state when original result that were announced at the polling unit was later altered by the electoral officers at the time they were uploading to the INEC portal/database. I don't think anybody who claims to love Nigeria should have any problem with that.

I don't know about you, but results like the Rivers own which I uploaded below is embarrassing to some of us. I work with expatriates almost everyday and I get ashamed when we have reasons to talk about the ills in this country particularly how we've failed to get the simplest of things right.

Any local government there's an INEC/NYSC office there should be star link or any satellite internet coverage there.

All those trophies would have been won with or without Ozil.

Bruno Fernandez in any of the teams Ozil played would have starred better with even better stats.

Look, if you want fancy aesthetics with inferior efficiency, a lack of big game performances, you go Ozil.

But if you value football as a whole, the tactical side, you will appreciate Bruno Fernandes.
You just keep confirming you no know ball at all with these Ur GBA takes as the days go by.

Ozil was an integral member of Germany's 2010 team that won bronze. He was not a carry along but actually had assists on their way to bronze. He doubled down on that performance 4 years later when tbey won the 2014 wold cup with him being one of their key players that blew teams away including the famous 7-1 routing of Brazil.

That same Ozil was assist leader at Arsenal where he won 3 FA cups. He also had the most assist when he played in the German league.

Ozil won Germany's player of the year 5 times out of the 9 years he played international football for the German national team. But somehow you are here telling me his teams would've won trophies without his contributions. Na wa o.

Humour me please, tell me what is tactical about Bruno's game play? When you are talking about efficency and you are referring to Ozil as being beneath Bruno, it only portrays one thing ; You really don't think football matches beyond ocassional Chelsea matches

Usually the government used propaganda agents on social media to distract people from the real issues. Some of these agents would start making posts like 'I am from South West or wherever and even if 1000 people die, I will still vote Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.'

What is more sad is that these people actually know what and why they are paid to do what they do.

Imagine an educated person like Raumdeuter making argument against electronic transmission and you wonder why Nigeria is where it is.
Funny thing is this: During Buhari's administration when people complain about these things, the same Tinubu supporters you are seeing today were the ones labelling people "wailing wailers". They would bring illogical viewpoints to defend Buhari's administration; one of such is when they claim that in 2014 some areas in the Northeast were under occupation by Boko Haram but when Buhari won the election security agencies reclaim those areas.

They call that a win and use it as evidence that Buhari was doing well as far as insecurity was concerned. When you show them evidence of thousands of lives that has been lost to Banditry, Fulani herdsmen and unknown gunmen under Buhari that allegedly "defeated Boko Haram technically", dem go begin turn tables like DJ Neptune.

It's unfortunate things have gotten worse that travelling on any major highway across the country now is a 50/50 chance of either getting kidnapped/ killed or getting to your destination safely. They've played politics with people's lives for too long that now everything just look beyond government's control.

He was gunning for political office. Aligned with the President's son too.

What it has confirmed, however, based on social media commentary is, young people justify fraud. We are worse than the older generation we lampoon everyday online. Tacitly, we have deadened our conscience to non-violent crimes. We excuse away such.

The average Nigerian will defend a scammer who defrauded a significant amount of money (especially from foreigners) as "brain work". Worse even, Nigerians who are openly religious with religious texts on their bios on Facebook and X.

Our outrage is only performative, and we only rage on when it's people we aren't related to by ethno-familial links or friendly terms with.

I saw accounts which cuss out at Tinubu, Akpabio, and Wike back the guy for fraud, asking him to be let go. And even attacking anyone who calls him out.

Once it involves relatives or friends, Nigerians will defend scammers. And women who post about wanting God-fearing men will articulate defenses too while gaslighting the truthsayers as "crabs pulling down others".

We are worse than the generations before us, and the supposed leaders of tomorrow will wreck Nigeria.
Well, I think it's people who have relatives benefiting from fraud or they themselves benefiting directly from fraud that will defend it as "brain work" or "grace". There are also businesses that are literally being sustained by fraud money; most hoteliers and club owners make money only because yahoo boys are still able to defraud people locally and internationally which they spend at their business places. Same goes for all those Air B'n"B/ apartment managers; only few of their customers are legit business people.

Most people doing it actually know what they are doing is stealing , but they just always look for any excuse to defend the wrong choice they made willingly.

I watched a reel yesterday of one white guy saying he's surprised that Nigeria is talking about other things, rather than the death of 170 people.

Lately, it's starting to look disturbing.

Gunmen will just kill people. Governor go talk. Tinubu go send soldiers, and that's all.

I remember when the Ikeja Bomb blast happened. It was a Sunday. The next day, everywhere was moody. Tinubu spoke that night. The country's flag was lowered at half mast...Like..You would know that something bad happened to Nigeria.

How did this country get to this point. 160 people died, and we are talking about PDP led faction, and a lot of rubbish.!

Jehovah, have mercy.
It was slow and steady we lost our humanity over time in this country. Under Buhari Fulani herdsmen would unalive scores of people in different parts of the country and the government will be more concerned about how the news is reported. They would be busy fighting the media guys for mentioning the tribe of the criminals instead of actually putting in efforts to fight the crime.

Wit time they began arguing whether the perpetrators of these killings are Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen, Bandits, Unknown Gunmen, etc.

I think for reasons best known to them, the government over time has lacked will power to combat these crimes. Instead the spokespersons of respective governments would be focusing on non-issues hoping the news will die a natural death so their principals don't look incompetent and helpless.

How many hours do you reckon it goes for?
Also, does the fan blow super hard?

Im looking at buying the solar lighting and pedestal fan.
The fan blows really well; it may not blow like those ox fans that make noise, but trust me it blows really well.

As regards how long it lasts, trust me it can serve u as much as 10 hours or more sef.

The way it works is this; once the solar panel is up on the roof(or anywhere it can access the sun directly), the inverter will charge and will get to full charge during the day. That solar inverter is what you connect to your fan to power it all through the night.

From my own user experience, If I put the fan on around 10pm it will work till around 8am next morning and it will just consume one bar out of the five bars indicating charge level on the inverter. It literally works all through the night and you still have enough power unutilized till the sun comes back up the next morning.

The truth is the fan is far better than any rechargeable fan I've seen being advertised online as far as performance and reliability is concerned.

There's another one posted by 8:02AM yesterday on the front page. Almost $600,000 for one his (alleged) scams. Well, the foreign victims have come forward.

He's someone I've known for years and worked with as a colleague. I was his superior at the organisation we worked at, while he was the Head of Logistics. Our erstwhile boss ran for governorship and got appointed by President Tinubu two years ago.

With all of the brouhaha on Facebook when it came to light two weeks ago and he was paraded by the EFCC last week, our erstwhile boss whom I still maintain a very close relationship with got on a long call with me.

Neither the man or myself were surprised. The man had warned in 2019 this would be the guy's fate as he had a history of showing off too much. And name-dropping on social media as a notorious social-climber. Everything was always a picture opportunity with Senators, politicians, and celebrities at events we attended to boost his social media profile and lure certain type of women.

My one saving grace is I have never been greedy. This guy had contacted me for my tech skills years ago. After building a platform for him, he wanted me to add investment features and others; but, by nature, I do due diligence on all digital projects - if it's shady, I withdraw. I found out his was shady with too many irregular details.

I refused to add the features (I have WhatsApp chats to back this up) so after a year the platform died. I told him it was against my ethics.

He got another digital agency to build him a new platform. In the light of his arrest and parade in the media, the company has taken down the platform and scrubbed their social media clean. Let's see if the EFCC will retrace their digital footprints.

I turned down requests from people who wanted me to condemn him on social media. First, I avoid scandals and controversies. Secondly, he was a friend until he started being shady and displaying sudden wealth on social media - putting up mansions and the likes.

Heck! He even set up our erstwhile boss for blackmail and the man confided in me two Saturdays ago (with more details) when he flew in for a function at the invitation of the Governor, after divulging some in 2022.

God knows if I had been greedy, I would have also been under investigation; or paraded by the EFCC.

My consolation is the glowing review our erstwhile boss reiterated of me and the strength of my character and he defends me anywhere.
For years while I worked with him and after I went independent to do my own thing, I had access to documents and devices, and never compromised to take anything to my benefit or betrayed his trust.

I didn't blur out his pictures so anyone in tune with my state politics and national politics can easily recognize him, and verify from him. All you need do is mention my first name. He knows I am on Nairaland too as we use to discuss about it.

Being content saved me. God knows I've been on my knees in gratitude since then, barely religious as I am.
I still don't understand why people who know they are into that kind of lifestyle(fraud, yahoo yahoo, 419 etc) cannot just keep low profile. They always want to show off and then they get caught while enjoying the limelight.

You can play 5-4-1 formation which look like defensive formation on paper but if your players get possession of the ball and tries to move it forward then the team for me plays an attacking football..
So what gave you the impetus to ever imagine Chelsea's first half performance was anything close to attacking football?

Aside from starting the match with just Delap, Enzo and Joao Pedro as the pro-attack players in the team, the first half Stats clearly showed Chelsea as a team setup just to recycle possession without any serious attacking intent.

In fact, Arsenal still had a higher XG than Chelsea that needed a goal more.

Your new gaffer committed a tactical sepukku with his approach to the game in the first half and majority of Chelsea fans, rival fans, and neutral fans saw through whatever BS he was saying at the post match conference. Ever wonder why u are the only lone voice speaking in support of his approach to the first half in the whole of this thread?

I don't even know the way Carabao cup VAR works sef, normally VAR would've ruled that a clear penalty kick instead the VAR was busy agreeing with ref's on field decisions.

I think going forward we should be playing with mindset that we are not expecting and favours from the officiating as the season progresses.
