There's another one posted by 8:02AM yesterday on the front page. Almost $600,000 for one his (alleged) scams. Well, the foreign victims have come forward.

He's someone I've known for years and worked with as a colleague. I was his superior at the organisation we worked at, while he was the Head of Logistics. Our erstwhile boss ran for governorship and got appointed by President Tinubu two years ago.

With all of the brouhaha on Facebook when it came to light two weeks ago and he was paraded by the EFCC last week, our erstwhile boss whom I still maintain a very close relationship with got on a long call with me.

Neither the man or myself were surprised. The man had warned in 2019 this would be the guy's fate as he had a history of showing off too much. And name-dropping on social media as a notorious social-climber. Everything was always a picture opportunity with Senators, politicians, and celebrities at events we attended to boost his social media profile and lure certain type of women.

My one saving grace is I have never been greedy. This guy had contacted me for my tech skills years ago. After building a platform for him, he wanted me to add investment features and others; but, by nature, I do due diligence on all digital projects - if it's shady, I withdraw. I found out his was shady with too many irregular details.

I refused to add the features (I have WhatsApp chats to back this up) so after a year the platform died. I told him it was against my ethics.

He got another digital agency to build him a new platform. In the light of his arrest and parade in the media, the company has taken down the platform and scrubbed their social media clean. Let's see if the EFCC will retrace their digital footprints.

I turned down requests from people who wanted me to condemn him on social media. First, I avoid scandals and controversies. Secondly, he was a friend until he started being shady and displaying sudden wealth on social media - putting up mansions and the likes.

Heck! He even set up our erstwhile boss for blackmail and the man confided in me two Saturdays ago (with more details) when he flew in for a function at the invitation of the Governor, after divulging some in 2022.

God knows if I had been greedy, I would have also been under investigation; or paraded by the EFCC.

My consolation is the glowing review our erstwhile boss reiterated of me and the strength of my character and he defends me anywhere.
For years while I worked with him and after I went independent to do my own thing, I had access to documents and devices, and never compromised to take anything to my benefit or betrayed his trust.

I didn't blur out his pictures so anyone in tune with my state politics and national politics can easily recognize him, and verify from him. All you need do is mention my first name. He knows I am on Nairaland too as we use to discuss about it.

Being content saved me. God knows I've been on my knees in gratitude since then, barely religious as I am.
I still don't understand why people who know they are into that kind of lifestyle(fraud, yahoo yahoo, 419 etc) cannot just keep low profile. They always want to show off and then they get caught while enjoying the limelight.

You can play 5-4-1 formation which look like defensive formation on paper but if your players get possession of the ball and tries to move it forward then the team for me plays an attacking football..
So what gave you the impetus to ever imagine Chelsea's first half performance was anything close to attacking football?

Aside from starting the match with just Delap, Enzo and Joao Pedro as the pro-attack players in the team, the first half Stats clearly showed Chelsea as a team setup just to recycle possession without any serious attacking intent.

In fact, Arsenal still had a higher XG than Chelsea that needed a goal more.

Your new gaffer committed a tactical sepukku with his approach to the game in the first half and majority of Chelsea fans, rival fans, and neutral fans saw through whatever BS he was saying at the post match conference. Ever wonder why u are the only lone voice speaking in support of his approach to the first half in the whole of this thread?

I support her stand and Kunle Afolayan. Having to dance to promote the movie after spending money and resources to produce the movie can actually be exhausting especially when you know there's a party somewhere that will take a chunk of Ur profit without doing much to earn it.

Las Las those that want to continue dancing will stick to cinema movies and those who don't want to for go for streaming platforms and other forms of marketing/distribution of their projects.

Tbh,the lineup isn't bad given the situation we were in before the game.

It was the first half execution that was bad. I think they were more interested in not conceding than actually playing their own game.
I don't really understand you. Are you saying it is a wise decision for a team needs a win to play the first 60 minutes of the game with a defensive set up?

Was the coach hoping Arsenal would gift Chelsea a goal instead of actually setting up his own team to attack Arsenal ?

I thought you liked teams that play with attacking intents and not otherwise.

Talking about PK, we had pne yesterday which they failed to give. The fact that we are not even complaining shows how long we have come. We're used to their cheating.
Initially I thought Martinelli was being lazy to have gone down from that Chalobah challenge, I was already vexing for Martinelli for going to the ground too easily until I saw the replay. He literally raised his second leg to trip Martinelli having lost the ball in his initial challenge.

I don't even know the way Carabao cup VAR works sef, normally VAR would've ruled that a clear penalty kick instead the VAR was busy agreeing with ref's on field decisions.

I think going forward we should be playing with mindset that we are not expecting and favours from the officiating as the season progresses.

I dont really think he was in match day line up self. Thats my point.

Or did I miss it? Baba no dey bench.

Do you think this current Odegaard would be able to execute that assist the way Rice did?

I personally dont think so, maybe I am beign biased sha.
Odegaard can make the pass on his good day. In fact, Odegaard in that same position as Rice will always make the pass because he's an AM who has actually done that several times. I think that match we walloped Chelsea 5-0 he made similar forward pass to Havertz who raced Cucurella to slot the ball home.

I think Odegaard like Saka needs some time off to relax and rejuvenate. As far as I'm concerned, he's still our best player in that AM position until Eze starts imposing himself in matches.

Personally I feel Eze is a good player who excels in a kinda free role type of AM that requires little or no defensive contribution and tracking ball back. However, that playing style has no place in this current Arsenal set-up which is why he has been struggling to impress like we want to see him do. I believe if he's willing , he will put in serious work and will adapt to current Arsenal set up Sha. It's only a matter of time.

I felt for him during the celebration, he was breathing heavily on the dashboard. Man ran his lungs out despite the fact that it was the 96th minute.

Kudos to Martinelli too. That last minute run took a whole lot from them.

By the way, why Odegaard no play today? Hope no be Injury?
I think Arteta didn't see the need to bring in Odegaard in the second half having seen that all we needed to see the game off was just to remain defensively compact till the end.

Bringing on Odegaard at that time would've opened us up to attacks cos Odegaard's mind will be fixated on starting attack when we should be defending as a team.

In all, Arteta tried in reading the game really well Sha

Rice is a war horse; he plays like he's got some heavy duty engine powering him.

We need to win our game this weekend with enough goals if possible, and see what happens at Anfield with Liverpool finding their cojones back and man city having a defensive crisis.
If we can get 13 wins from a possible 15, we would be on course to win the league with our highest point margin ever.
I have noticed that we do well if we play on Saturday and our closest rival (Man city this year and Loserpool last year) plays on Sunday. We do better when we don't play under pressure of "must win" because our closest rival dropped point yesterday.

If u notice well, u will see most of the matches we've dropped point to increase the gap at the top this season, they have mostly been matches City has played earlier and have gotten either a draw or loss.

I think because of the desire to prove doubters wrong and all, we become nervous in matches that we should easily win and the pressure gets to not just the players but the coaching crew making us to carve under weight of the pressure.

However, I have a strong believe that this year will be different. Something tells me that once we win something tangible this year, we would actually dominate the league for a long time. We just need to keep pushing and win something this season. Seeing players like Rice , Saliba, etc being vocal about their desire for the team to win something this season gives a very high level of confidence.

Hopefully we win Sunderland on Saturday and pass the pressure back to City to battle it out with Loserpool on Sunday and let's see where that leaves us.

I'm so tired of our current crop of players undecided

I don't know how true but I'll not be surprised if it actually happened. I've said it before that we're now like the latter Wenger days; buying kids, develop them, sell and hope for top 4 while the current Arsenal is literally us; buying quality, strong and ready made physical players and gunning for the title immediately.

This is Gallas having a headloss after Clichy's lack of concentration led to a last minute pk. Justified crash out but as a captain, you don't do this.
I mentioned it here last year that with the young average players Chelsea keep receruiting in the last couple of years, they are slowly transforming into Arsenal of the Wenger era while Current Arsenal team is gradually turning into the Chelsea of Abrahamovic era before our eyes.

Arsenal adding players like Rice, Zubi, Merino, Eze and Gyokeres to an already solid team is something that Chelsea was known for in the Abrahamovic era. Never tought I would see Chelsea in the direction of signing so many nobodinhos here and there hoping they will click and the owners can sell them for profit in the nearest forseeable future. In fact, at times I feel some of those Chelsea young players are punching above their weight when they occasionally have a good game here and there. Most of them are not ready at all.

Russia-Ukraine war politics really do una club strong thing sha.

There's a video of that Havertz goal I watched this morning with the camera angle showing Gabriel and Kepa at the back before Havertz scored. The moment Havertz received the ball, Gabriel sank to his knees at the back in celebration already. When the ball hit the net, he collapsed on the pitch and Kepa went to jubilate with him.

So, word on the street is that Tinubu may be looking at using a Christian Northerner as his running mate in 2027 to replace Shetimma as VP.

It is being rumoured that the current defense minister Christopher Musa (immediate past CDS) may likely be the man to be considered for that role. Musa recently mentioned in an interview that he is not yet an APC member but will join soon. It's in the papers this morning that he has been added to the APC national convention planning committee suggesting he will be a full-fledged APC member by the time APC hold their national convention.

PS: This is a rumour that has not yet been confirmed, but it is looking likely Tinubu may have to ditch Shetimma. Some are saying the US government will be placated if a Christian VP emerge considering the controversy that has trailed the Christian genocide in Nigeria as noted by the US government.

Let me start by saying i have never watched Jenifer or any of Funke's movies. I don't think like her style or even her personality. Afolayan is by far the superior filmmaker IMO.

Having said that, though her reaction might have been excessive, that was a subtle jab at her. He should not have mentioned her name and kept it general.

He was implying that the dancing and skits Funke was doing in order to make her movies profitable were beneath him.

1) So Funke's movies can't be profitable without dancing and skits. 2) You are too big for skits and dancing, but Funke is not.

Ogbeni, nobody asked you about Funke. They just asked you when your next movie was coming out.
To borrow the words of the great philosopher Jeezy, if you get jammed up don't mention my name.
Maybe it was just Funke's name that came to his mind right on the spot sha because in the follow-up interview he explained himself further. I saw the video of the follow-up interview in which he mentioned Femi Adebayo who happened to be his Gee who also dances to promote his movies in cinemas.

I think Funke just got mad with the way Bloggers twisted the whole interview and she saw it as an attack on her craft which is not Kunle Afolayan's intention.

I still hold on to the fact that his message was that people no longer rate movies on how good they are but how much they gross at the cinemas. The gross figure that still ends up being split by cinema owners and the project financiers leaving the producer with so much clout and few hundred of millions in their pocket.

All forces thrown at him were repelled with ease
I agree with this post 100%!

Hincapie was massive yesterday night. He handled Delap and Esteavo threats really really well; even when he is caught out of position and Gabriel was covering for him, the tracks back immediately to cover ground and force Chelsea to recycle the ball back to their own half.

He may be mid in attack play, but he was very solid in defense.

For me, there was no man of the match yesterday. What we have are men of the match.

Shoutout to Hincapie. He caged Delap and Estevao (Estherfowl 🤣🤣). He locked that wing and his calm header clearance led to the goal.

Declan Rice had no business delivering that assist. I mean he has been running and almost bursting his lung since first minute yet was in the right place to deliver that assist (with his weak foot!!!!).

Martinelli may have his shortcomings but you can never criticize him when it comes to giving his all. He ran himself rag and at the final minute, he made a run to guard that goal jealously. He should have had a penalty but then, it's ARSENAL!

Those crazy bouncers wey dey play CB for us eh, no long talk. Na them gangan be THE WALL.

Kepa made a nice save in the first half to keep us in the game.

E sure me say Arteta show Timber that clip of Estevao dribble. Timber did hos today, he got foul. He locked that wing down and Estevao ran to Hincapie, another warlord. His calmness? Oh my God.

Eze and Gyokeres are suffering the same issue - they struggle to impose themselves. I really don't know why. The coach has got to psyche them up. We need them in their dawg mood.
I'm not even sure if Delap won any ball against Gabriel ; either a long ball, aerial ball or short pass high up in the heart of midfield. Like Gabriel just stick to him like an adhesive applied to two wooden joints.

Our defensive line is scary.

The Chelsea fans that were making memes of Esteavo vs Timber from thag last match, they have nothing to cheer about with Timber playing in his right position and Hincapie doing same.
