We don't want to move to any of these places.

Our plan now is to leave them. (3 transfers within one year is unsettling).

They don't pay for this relocation cost, what they do is pay for deposit and first month rent and charge it back for you to pay back small small.

But these are my major challenges with leaving them immediately and also leaving Newcastle as Newcastle do not seems to have a lot of Nursing roles with Sponsorship.

Below are why I am thinking it will be expensive leaving Newcastle Now.

1. We have got tenant contracts that will end April 8 2023.
2. Energy Contract till April 2023 exit fee £300.
3. Wifi Contract till April 2023 exit fee £150.

So the earliest I think we can leave Newcastle is April 2023.

Thinking of what to do between now and April 2023 is mentally draining.

If we accept to go to any of these places in the interim (Which is likely the only option we have now), while looking for job with sponsorship in Manchester or Liverpool or Leeds (I believe they will be more opportunities there especially for me, It was hard for me to find job here in Newcastle due to my family situation and were we live), The cheapest she would spend working 14days a month with taxi is £980. This will put alot of financial burden on us.

In her contract, if she leaves before 3 years she will pay back a certain amount, her colleague left after 6months and she was asked to pay back £4,500.

How do I sail through this turbulent sea.

Can her Union force them to pay for this taxi fare?.

Please dear Ancestors i need all the Advice, help and Encouragement now.

I think if you really want to move away from the company you will. How much is too much for mental health?

However, I have heard of nurses changing their sponsors, and the new sponsor pays the penalty for leaving the previous employer. This makes sense because nurses are in huge demands.

So, let your wife interview with other employers, then ask them if they are willing to pay the penalty fee.

Ladies, gents and LGBTQ+ which media do you read your financial news relating to the stock/shares market from?

Kind new to the stock/shares space but my go-to for the crypto world is cointelegraph.

Pack your bags to nigeria if UK is that horrible..
I left nigeria 2017 after graduation...its 1000times better than being back home unless you are lazy... i was on 20hrs per week for 16months...and i was still sensing cash to my mum and sister steady...holiday period i was making better money working full time..

make una no dey dey paint worst case horrible picture

Pls sir , why laugh in spiritual powers ?

Are you advocating people should stay back instead so as not to be disappointed or how ?

Not advocating for people to stay back but don't compare situations that are not the same.

How much does a student pay in taxes? Why compare the situation of a student that pays almost nothing in taxes to a full-time worker on a 24k salary? That full-time worker will struggle a lot to even have £100 in savings after taxes depending on where they live. Such person would need to get a better paying job or work crazy hours to make ends meet.

Omo. Those estate agents showed me fire (family of 5). Getting a 2 bed was near impossible so had to settle for 3. Even with that, at one point, I had to start lying about my number of kids till I saw a house where the Landlord requested he sees the prospective tenants physically. It was when I saw the Landlord was open to giving me the apartment I declared the true number of kids, guy man just added £100 monthly to the rent and said he was happy to do a 2 year contract with a 6 month break out clause which I accepted. It proved to be wise decision in the end as rent in that area is skyrocketed and I am just close to a year into the contract and salary increased 3ce giving me headroom.
But reason am 2 bedroom for a family of 5. You sef go rent if the tables were turned?

I am just excited. My mom just got a visitor visa, finally I can get small rest in this UK.
Lucky you. Enjoy the few weeks of rest.

Mind if I make some clarifications that might help when I'm applying for mine.

How long did you state that she will be visiting for?
Did she include that she had dependents?

option 1- minivan from the airport straight to your destination from manchester airport
or national express coach that leaves from manchester airport, it’ll go straight to Leeds.
When you get to Leeds, order Uber XL or Bolt XL from leeds bus station to house/hotel.
Avoid train.
Wouldn't they have to pay for luggages more than 2 with national express?

I just checked but couldn't find it on there anymore. It looks like the image below but with a padded comfy back instead of the mesh.
I also got a detachable padded back support for days when my back needs sime extra support. Will send a more accurate pic once I can.
This sounds and looks like something am looking for. I would appreciate if I could get the accurate name/description of the chair. I'm more interested in the back and neck support. At least if one would spend more than £100 on a chair, it should be worth it as well as avoiding having to return such bulky item.

Gaming chairs, those fancy ones that can turn to bed

1. This is not a job, its a voluntary service

2. I was voted to moderate the section, thosedays to be a mod nairalanders have to vote for you, couple of potential mods will be selected and voted for, one with highest vote becomes a mod.

3. I don't have direct contact to Seun and i don't think any mod does, we contact him the same way other nairalanders do.

I see. The reason why I thought it was a job is because I remembered there was once an advertisement for the position of a moderator.

I bet if voting is still the way to become a moderator, a lot of your "enemies" wouldn't allow you to win it grin

I've never tried bringing in fish products except for when I travel with it.
I mostly ship non-perishables in case of delays.
Alright thanks for the feedback. Hopefully someone who has can signify.

You can try https://centrepointservices.co.uk/
Been using them on and off over the years and they've always delivered from Lagos and from London. Last used them few months ago to send stuff to Lagos - took about a week. They offer pickups and drop-off but they charge extra for pickup.
I paid £88.50 for a 13kg bag (including pickup cost).
What food items were you able to ship with them? I couldn't find this info on their website.

Are fish products allowed?

My wife wanted to buy iPhone 11 from Facebook market place but was scammed. The person blocked her after sending £450. The prior arrangement was to get it delivered. Going forward is pick-up and pay.

I'm chatting the person as a buying, and he/she is wanting to sell the same phone for me.

The recipient's bank is Modulr FS Ltd. I don't even know what kind of bank that is.
Be careful even with pickups. There a lot of fake Apple products out there!

Anyone working in london hybrid and living outside london?

I secured a role which would require me coming in twice a week during my probation period. Also I beleive the human interaction with my manager is good for the first few months to have a better bond.

My plan is spend a night in a hotel every week with my commute being just back and forth from outside the city weekly.

Two questions -

Where can i stay once a week for 3 months asides a hotel? Are there people I can pay to stay once a week close to paddington?

For people in this situation that don’t want to move to london. How do you navigate this predicament?
Have you explored the option of Youth hostels?

You get the added bonus of meeting loads of people. Some people have been in the hostels for MONTHS.

The times I tried it , even when I bought , shipped in to my sister and had them ship it to me. ... the tax man was waiting for me in UK so I don't bother again. Instead worse case I target sales in the UK. You can get some really good deals in sales
But why are clothings unnecessarily expensive in UK compared to other EU countries as well?
