Is the trailer not different from the tank? Failure to use a Trailer with the right pull weight capacity for the right tank can lead to overloading. Filling the content past the capacity line of the tank can lead to overloading and then spilling which can cause accident as well. I'm not an engineer but we read this all the time.

When a tank reads 13,000 liters it doesn't mean to the brim but when Nigerians see space they will say, put it it can carry.

Naturally due to the weight and size of the Tanker(Trailer and tank) braking distance has increased not to talk of when adequate safety measures are not taking. This guys also speed when they are not carrying fuel which is also wrong because of the increased braking distance during to tank and size which can also lead to overloading the brake.

Overloading does not only refers to the capacity of the tyres, frames but also the brakes can be overloaded.

Back to the topic, competitions like these, you don't expect premium attendance. Those Ivy league schools don't get time for such and even if they do, they just send some of their less serious students to attend.
