Its also a shame that a senile man with the onset of dementia, a man with no known economic plan, who dragged his nation to become the poverty capital of the world could win an election |

Romance › Re: Is There any sensible reason why women should bear your surname name ? by blujoi(m): 1:55pm On Mar 03, 2019 |
Thank you. I like the way you broke it down. PrimadonnaO: Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Eph 5:22-23
The Bible did not categorically state anything about the names wives are to take, but it specifically said that wives to submit to their husbands in everything. So, in my opinion, if your husband is fine with you having your own name separate from his, all well and good. But if he says you have to take his name, then you must, else it would amount to rebellion and unsubmissiveness...and that is outrightly against the will of God.
The reason for so many failed marriages these days may not be unconnected to need for two much individualism in couples. You're supposed to LEAVE and CLEAVE. Can you cleave and yet be separate? Having a different surname from your partner is you saying you want an identity separate from him
Bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh! How do you become bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh when you have a separate identity? How does two become one when you have a separate identity?
Jare, these are non-issues. |

Romance › Re: Is There any sensible reason why women should bear your surname name ? by blujoi(m): 4:22am On Mar 03, 2019 |
The act of marriage entails that a woman leaves her fathers house and now becomes one with the man who is marrying her. The woman assumes the man's identity. You make it look like assuming a man's surname takes away your individuality. Is your individuality embedded in your last name? Taking up your husbands name signifies change of status and not change of individuality. Marriage is a beautiful thing, but these days, pseudo-feminists and their teachings makes it look like marriage is a kind of enslavement. Amakavula: I still don't get why a woman should change her surname after marriage.
Men who insist their wife adopts their surname, are too self-important to accept the individuality and agency of their wives
We are our own people too, so instead of seeing your wife as a mere extension or appendage of themselves, see them as partners and share everything including surnames.
I will chat with one of you interested in a counter argument Here is my number:

Truth is Lagos is an ATM for some group of persons. That’s just the way it is. Nothing lasts for ever, whatever is hidden today will be revealed in the future VaselineCrew: Very sketchy bro and remember that Fashola was said to have bought the rights to that concession
https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/08/28/lekki-concession-lagos-explains-rights-buy-back/
Thanks of NextGovernor for correcting the mathematical error, we now know they make about 1 billion per month on that road. So in one year they'd make 12 billion. I wonder just how much that road in itself cost to build, that we would be paying them 12 billion a year.
That road from the toll plaza at lekki phase 1 to chevron drive is just 11 km, which is just about 7 miles. Think about it bro, we are PAYING 1 BILLION NAIRA A YEAR FOR A 7 MILE STRETCH OF ROAD.
Another illegality here is that fact that the road was in existence before and all of a sudden they added extra lanes and went ahead to inflict lifelong pains on citizens. You never see people advocating the removal of the toll at the lekki-ikoyi link bridge, cause that bridge never existed before and was created as a shortcut for people between lekki and ikoyi. Of course resident won't mind paying for that, but why would they pay for a road that has been there they were children, then one day one man just puts a gate there. |

The money is used to repay the ‘company’ that renovated and expanded the Lekki-Epe expresway, according to Lagos state government. Remember there was PPP arrangement. But details are opaque and sketchy. |

It always amuses me when people talk about igbo presidency! Having a president of igbo extraction is not going to affect the progress of an average igbo man, leave the presidency for the northerners, that’s their only avenue to stay relevant in Nigeria raumdeuter: Oye observed that if Igbo did not change their style of politics, the much talked about Igbo president in 2023 might be a mirage. He, however, said that as the national chairman of APGA, he was working hard to make the party have significant presence in all parts of the country, adding that it was due to such effort that made it possible for APGA to win 11 national assembly seats across the various geopolitical zones during last week’s poll. |
