What happened was that the professor survived a horrible motor accident last year or thereabout. I think he even "died" in that accident for some hours.
He was probably referring to that accident. |

abujaafar18: I made a general statement, not only Enugu. It's a common trend. We all know how well Ngige performed in his first tenure as Governor in Anambra. But since he joined the opposition, he has been rejected at the poles each time he contested elections in that state. His sins are just because he is in APC. Iboes are not only being left behind in national politics, but are gradually becoming endangered species across the borders because of their hatred for the other major tribes. Recent events in Oyo and Lagos are indications of that. You guys need to think wisely. You are right. Elections are becoming very unpredictable except in the East where PDP are certain of huge victories. Because of a single man (Ajimobi), Oyo people rejected APC. And now, they are saying it too that if Makinde bleeps up, they will take away their support. There is nothing like party. Just pure personality race. Oyo did not reject Adelabu. Adelabu was just unfortunate to be linked to Ajimobi. In 4 years time, should Makinde mess up, Adelabu may get his chance even as an APC member. |

SMH all mouth. In case you don't know, presidential candidates as well as their spouses and children get state security protection in the United States. You wouldn't dare go near them, except they are having a well-planned public meet up. Have you forgotten how an elderly journalist was body slammed for insisting on getting close to Obama. superior1: If PDP really wins Kano, Atiku needs to look at election materials from the presidency election in his case at court. You way of thinking is influenced heavily by your party affiliation. You have forgotten that there are people who vote for personality rather than party. It is very possible for people to vote for Buhari as president and vote out Ganduje. Buhari and Ganduje are two different people from the same political party. For you, APC is APC. But for some people, APC is good here (in the case of Buhari) but bad here (Ganduje). Anyway, I heard that Ganduje is actually leading in Kano. Let me add that there are friends of mine in Oyo who voted Buhari for president and Makinde for governor. |

Tumadre: Is this supposed to serve as a threat? Yes, they asked to have a voice in the politics where they make their living, so they were massacred. That’s your logic here? Very sad. This is why this country is in its useless position The country is in her useless position because people like you are hurt by history. You don't want to learn from history. The fact remains that the January 1966 coup was not the only cause of the Civil War. Igbos living in Kano worsened the situation by mocking their hosts. I don't see how it is my fault if you feel that reeling our historical incidents is akin to issuing threats. |

Politicians everywhere (even in the US with its extreme gun violence) walk into crowds and shake hands, take selfies and even kiss the proverbial babies. When will you people stop worshipping politicians/public servants and putting them on unwarranted pedestals. Yet same people will moan when these crude rent-seekers treat the public purse as their personal property and ordinary citizens as serfs and peasants. So, you can walk behind Trump on a normal day? Remember that politicians have days when they walk in crowds and meet people. There is a term for it. And this does not happen all the time. Obama was one of the most impersonal president the world has seen. Yet, there were instances of street walks when barricades were put on either side of the street when he passed. No one would have been able to walk behind him. |

lexy2014: Does that make it right? Right and wrong is defined by the law. I am a mathematician, not a lawyer. However, I am sure the constitution is silent on the issue. However, this is a civil law specific, if the man who was slapped feels offended, he can sue. Or maybe any lawyer in the house can help him. As for the pastor case, I felt offended because I considered the matter more from a religious angle. Why would a pastor who claims invisibility when it suits him use soldiers and policemen as guards? |
Politics › Re: Man Slapped For Trying To "Walk Behind" Babajide Sanwo-Olu by BluntBoy(m): 1:06pm On Mar 10, 2019 |
lexy2014: There's a difference between protecting a person & slapping people because u are a security man. If d security detail felt d man was a threat, d first thing to do was to briefly "arrest" him&search his person 2c if he was carrying a weapon. That will determine what action 2 take. Walking close 2a celebrity or politician hasnt been designated a crime by d constitution It is not everything that is spelt out in the law. As a matter of fact, there are four major types of law. One of these is civil law, which are largely unwritten and are sorted out by citizens through lawsuits. The security guard did what he felt was right. If he had arrested the man, you people would still have complained. All I know is that the journalist that tried to get close to Obama (while he was president) was slammed to the ground and no one made any noise. |

When Abraham Lincoln was killed, he had only one policeman keeping watch over him. He was killed by a mere actor. Today, when the American president is in public, you will find snipers on nearly every rooftop in the vicinity. Get too close and wake up in hell. You can not get that close to any Artistes or celebrities in Nigeria talkless of a Politician and an incoming Governor. He is an incoming Governor and he need to be under protection, it is not after they get close to him and attack him before they start protecting him, you guys we also be the first people to blame his security for allowing someone to get close to him. Don't mind those hypocrites. I have been manhandled by police guards of a popular Nigerian pastor before . A pastor who is a supposed man of God o. If/when he actually wins and is sworn-in, I pity any car that comes near his motorcade. Meanwhile, look at people actually defending him with obtuse drivel like “that’s his security” and “fake news” (even with video-taped evidence, a la Gandollar), and you see “Sh*thole” mentatility! You people don't want to be realistic at all. The security guards are doing their jobs. There is a limit you can get around the person they are protecting. If you pass that limit, you will be regarded as a threat. There are instances where politicians and celebs can meet people, in which case, the security details would not be so tight. But not at this period. Let us do it this way. Next time Davido is performing, jump on the stage and see if the security guards would pat you on the back. |

nnamdijonathan: Which everyone? The problem Ndigbo have had with the northerners since 1970 is mainly about religion and it rarely occurs. The problem Yoruba have with Igbo is envy, simply envy. U guys develop envy not just towards Igbo alone but towards other ethnic groups. Envy? After the war, you returned to find your homes in the Southwest intact while you were not so lucky in other regions. Why would Yorubas envy you people? On what basis? The wealthiest persons in Africa are mostly Yorubas with investments scattered everywhere and headquartered in Lagos. Typically, Yorubas like office jobs, which is why they may be few in business in comparison with Igbos and Hausas. If Yorubas were envious of what you have accumulated, they would have taken possession of the properties you left behind while running back home months before the civil war. This is was not the case even among your own people. One Igbo would take over another Igbo's house and refuse to leave even when the rightful owner came by. Before you accuse us of envy, you should first look at your kinsmen. Stop projecting your envy on Yorubas. Yorubas are almost carefree and would not envy you because of business or landed properties. |

franchasng: of course Igbos play huge impact on who wins Abuja. Haven't you wondered why Buhari lost in Abuja
There is no Governor in Abuja, The President is there so Igbos know whoever is controlling Nigeria's Presidency controls Abuja.
As for Kano, they do too....go and ask, but Igbos are no longer as much in Kano as some decades ago.
Yes you are right Yorubas *used* to be accommodating, but it seems the praises is entering their head and the little development recorded in Lagos as a result of joint efforts of non-indigenes + indigenes + government policies is also entering Yoruba people's heads, so they are beginning to feel they can ditch Igbos, but I tell you......read what I posted about this in response to one of your fellow Yoruba online tribal urchins below:
Note: your mods deleted my initial comments cos they know that its the sad truth that will awaken every Igbo man or woman, you people should continue, time will tell Igbos don't play any huge part. What played out was a fight between Christians who thought they were resisting Muslim rule embodied by Buhari. Every of my friends, many of who attend Winners Durumi and Dunamis where all for PDP, not because they like Atiku, but because they see PDP as a Christian party. To many of them, it was a battle between APC (Muslim) vs PDP (Christian). I can bet that there were more non-Igbo voters than Igbo voters during the presidential elections in Abuja. |

See how u guys developed hatred towards to brother Jimi Agbaje because of your hate for another ethnic group. Well, na that one be una problem. Its good as Ndigbo boycotted the election in Lagos, it's better than dying in the hands of Yoruba thugs littered everywhere. Another problem you people have is your knack for projecting your shortcomings on others. When someone is always lamenting that people hate him and are jealous of him, I would be forced to ask him one day, "Hope you are not the one who has a problem? How can everyone hate you?" |

franchasng: Igbos are only interested in Lagos politics simply because Igbos are the number 1 business and investment owners in Lagos, , so they ought to be concerned about the politics and policies of Lagos because it affects their livelihood in Lagos.
Majority of Igbos don't care about politics in other southwest states like Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti and Osun.
When Yorubas shut Igbo people complaining that Rochas is a failed governor and Yorubas who don't live in IMO or own a single plot of land in Imo say Rochas is the best governor in Southeast just because he belongs to your witches & wizards party of broom sucking demons, that is not pocknosing or interfering, but when Igbos who are the second majority tribe living in Lagos air their opinion on who they wish to win Lagos election, Yoruba tribal urchins online start to turn in their living graves, kwantinu
So stop disturbing the webspace with chasing shadows, nobody care about your politics okay, so go and sit down one place Olatunji
Can someone update us with what's happening in Imo state pls In 2006, the then Minister of the FCT, Mallam El Rufai, said Igbos owned 60% landed properties in Abuja. How come you people are not also showing interest in Abuja politics? Same with Kano and Kaduna. Why Lagos? The reason is not far fetched. The Yorubas are very accommodating. |

Now I know ur a tinubu worshiper I lived all my life in lag...around festac..then tinubu does next to nothing in infrastructure build up...he organised a referendum and added 16 more local govt to lagos..also asia state did same..PDP abstained from that election and tinubu's AC won them all...
Because the election was illegal, den.OBJ seized the allocation to lagos state LOCAL government....
Yet again tinubu capitalised and started yelling that he can't perform cuz his allocation was seized from entering lagos...
Do u know he bowed to FG pressure to revert to 20 LG...just 5months to his departure after over one year of defiance..
In 3batches the fed. Govt released all the stalled money...yet not even a gutter was contructed with it..it total over 3pbilkion naira..tinubu took it alone even borrowed money from.world bank for as he puts it.."a light rain project"
Which after collecting the 300million dollars for the rail..he said he changed his plans that the rail will take too much plan..instead he went and purchased long buses..painted a section of the lagos highways.. nd started the BRT with less than 80 million dollars...
All dis happened just 6months to his departure..he pocketed another 200million, yet he sued the f.g that they should release may monthly allocation to him instead of fashola..
That the state need the fund to organise a welcome party for the incoming governor..F.G won in court nd the monthly allocation was released to fashola instead..
You know nxt to nothing about tinubu...he hates development nd only cares abt his pocket...
Tinubu is anti development and a criminal..i can't change ur live for him..but I pity ur children.... Beer parlor gossip. He hates development but has always put his weight behind young and energetic men with sound minds. |
