There are differences between tithe, offering and gifts. Tithe should be given to men of God. Its their right. You can give the beggar money but not your tithe or offering

Lets always do the right things the right way and not otherwise

Again from my understanding of the bible, God chose the people of Levite to be his priests to serve in his house and if we all agree our tithes should be given to the Levites, I don't know why we the fuss about paying our tithes in the house of God where the pastor(priest) is the servant of God.
The bible is clear about tithe, you should follow God's commandment.

No one is forcing you to tithe. your tithe is between you and God. No one obligated Jacob to tithe but in Leviticus 27: 30-34, during the time of Moses, tithe was introduced as a commandment to the children of God.
Pastors will emphasize on tithes because it's their duty to warn you of God's anger and guide you spiritually.
Read Malachi 3:8-9
Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say,
Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even
this whole nation.
If you decide not to pay your tithes, ye are cursed with a curse.
And it's the Pastor's duty to warn you of this curse. if you still refuse to pay your tithe, in other words refuse to obey God's commandments, the pastor won't come to you to force it out of your pocket.
You are commanded to tithe.

Not that I'm a tithe payer myself but if you want to do something, do it right

Tithe was specifically meant for the upkeep of church or propagation of the Gospel .
The beggar achieved none of these two objectives, he might even use your tithe for some immoral activities.

It was a very stressful week for me as it involved lots of travels and all. So its a Saturday and I was paid for a project I did for the month past.

Going by my tired nature, I knew deep down me that there was no way I could have made it to church the next day and I was hell bent on paying my tithe because of the inherent blessings therein and the last thing on my mind would be to give it to my nebor to pay it for me. (The guy broke and besides I didn't want him to start calculating my take-home (Na sharp man). And I knew deep down that if I keep the money till the next time I would be in church, I was sure I would spend it. (God have mercy on me sha)

So I decided even before getting home to package my tithe and while in the market on a shopping spree I package my tithe and dropped it in the plate of an old beggar. (A mulsim beggar precisely)

Instantly, I saw 50 shades of shocks on her face as she looked at me for a few seconds and I could read her facials more like "For this Buharia?" Lols. And before I disappeared into the crowd, I could see/read her lips mutter prayers pointing towards me. And deep down, I felt blessed and fulfilled.

But was I wrong to have given my 10percent to a beggar instead of to the alter?

Lazy Christians always use the bible to mean they not under the laws of God, no duty nothing, we can do whatever we like... Living a life of impunity, no different from the few wolves masquerading as Pastors.. If you have no duty as a Christian, I wonder what you are... Many rascals Christians doing, saying, acting anyhow. Speaking against God's ministers the way they like.. As if God put their judgement in your hands.. Whatever measure you are using to judge.. You will get more in your own case.. As if you are clean.. Smh!

Giving to God your all shouldn't be a problem if Jesus and God gave His all for you. He said give and it shall be given back to you.. So it does show that your giving is a big condition for financial blessings.. There are spiritual blessings and physical ones that are based on what YOU DO not only on what HE DID.. You have to grow up even beyond 10%

fam I would just advice that u read ur bible more often nd if I might add. Jesus he redeemed us from the law. We live under grace. Therefore we don't have to bother bout what laws are broken but to strive to live righteously everyday. So its a continuous process not a state.
