casualobserver: Pls don’t tag me unless you have something meaningful to say.
Ok.. When I commented that Lalong went too far by involving the Pope in something that doesn't concern the Pope, you jumped on my comment., and attacked me personally by referring to me as “ignorant”. .. Now, Lalong himself had realised by himself that his comment went too far, and he had apologised. .. So I ask you again, why exactly did you jump on my initial comment, as if I never knew what I was saying.?? .. .. (You should always be mindful of how you do things.. Because you never can tell when and where those things would be brought back at your face in a way you cannot do anything again to correct yourself.) .. When I promised to tag you again in the future, I knew I was definitely going to fulfill that promise.. But I never knew it would be very very soon.
Explorers: A £20million superyacht owned by a company boss worth more than £400million has gone up in flames off the coast of a Spanish island.
The 150ft vessel Aria SF caught fire on Thursday afternoon in Cala Saona, on the west coast of the Mediterranean isle of Formentera, just a month after being delivered to the owner, Paolo Scudieri.
Perfectbeing: He will increase the tax net and feed all of us agbado and cassava. Shey that's what you want to hear
Shun this.. Be real.. We are talking about having the Gas-to-Electric Generation apparatus being ready before May 2023,, and assuming that Agbado takes over.. Won't he take the glory?? But then, apart from that,, remember that Nigeria has a very poor maintenance culture. Would the machineries be properly and constantly maintained.?? (I won't give my own answer to this question though - answer it for yourself on behalf of your preferred candidate)
Perfectbeing: And see how the petrol subsidy is killing us?
We budget for on petrol subsidy than for power, education and road combined. But thank God Dangote's refinery will soon begin. Buhari will remove subsidy completely before he leaves. And if any candidate that wins feels it's the wrong thing to do, he can put it back.
My argument is not about what the Subsidy is doing to us. Statistics have shown that more people are going into the Petrol Importation and supply despite the subsidy.. But then, compared to gas production, we are having a decline. .. What went wrong then?? Why the disparity? .. Or we just take it in, just because “This Is Nigeria”??
Perfectbeing: It will definitely take time (although they said two months). The next Government (especially that one that lies a lot) will come and take all the glory because he knows most of you don't even know what is happening and will believe whatever he says.
No,, assume that Agbado will win.. So, tell us what would happen if Agbado wins. (Since you want to divert to that side of discussion)
Perfectbeing: Investors are not investing in the production of gas because they are not getting enough profits from it.. Why? Because it is being subsided.. Try to dey read.
Relax. Leave grammar. It is because “NIGERIA” HAPPENED TO THEM.. .. There was petrol subsidy.. But none of them left petrol importation.
Perfectbeing: And the plants and generators that will use the gas will be gotten how?
The gas will magically transform into transmission wires, dams, the electric cables etc and when the Government wants to pay the workers working in the power stations, they will pay them in gas abi?
Most of you Nigerians doesn't even know there is paining you. Most of you don't follow news. Buhari paid for the building of some power plants way back in 2017 and it's not until December this year that they will be transported to Nigeria. You think everything good can just be willed to happen and it will happen.
Then, the time-lag that would follow due to the installation and test-running before full commissioning.. That is, if they won't play Nigerian Politics with the whole thing.
Lifestone: Nope Europe wants to reduce her energy dependency on Russia who has such similar gas pipelines to Europe. Aside,, this project is a joint venture with Europe with Russia showing interest to invest. Imo, this should have been done some 40 years back. But better late than neve
Let's be watching though. .. If the feasibility studies suggest that it will be beneficial in the long run, then it's ok
Perfectbeing: Can you just keep quiet and think? Gas will still be in use for the next half a century..
And even if the Russia Ukraine conflict ends, it has already opened the eyes European countries not to depend on only one country for its gas. So they will diversify their markets to other countries so as not to be independent on one country like they've been dependent on Russia..
What other best thing should Nigeria put her money at the moment?
Using the Nigerian gas within Nigeria is still the best option. You only export excesses, or the ones you cannot immediately use in the form which it is. (Crude Oil for instance). .. We cannot be in shortage of gas, and we are here planning of exporting the same little gas which we don't produce in good quantity. .. I mean, what type of stupidity is that?
Nigeria ramps up construction of pipeline delivering gas to Europe
Nigeria is ramping up efforts to finish the construction of a pipeline that will help deliver its gas to Europe.
It's also trying to triple its reserves as prices and demand for gas surge due to the conflict in Ukraine.
Al Jazeera's Ahmed Idris reports from Port Harcourt.
Due to the Conflict in Ukraine?? So, if the Conflict ends, what will happen? (The demand for gas will drop, and the pipeline would become useless?? Abiii?? Is this the best thing we can do with our money at the moment??)
Legislators in the house, please respond to this.. PA’s to Legislators,, please respond to this. .. If you know the answer to this question,, please I really need your response
I would really like to learn about the true functions of the elected Legislative members, especially where it concerns his Constituency. .. I have searched through the Constitution, and I found out that the only job of the legislative members is to sponsor and pass bills (that is, according to the Constitution) Nothing was mentioned about the spending/usage of the Constituency Allowances. Although, I was made to believe that there are some other Gazetted Acts and/or Laws which took care of all those remunerations, and allowances, and finances, and funds that are under the control of the Legislators (just the same way there some Gazetted Acts and/or Laws for the Finances of the Executive Arm). .. So, in that regards, I would really want to know better about the Spending/Usage of the “Constituency Allowances”. .. Is it obligatory and/or mandatory that the Legislative members must use the Constituency Allowances to do something in their Constituencies and keep proper records of these Constituency Projects?? Again, are there some control-institition of some sort set-up solely for the sake of checks-and-balances and to scrutinise and vet the spending/usage of the Constituency Allowances and confirm/verify them?? .. Or, are the Constituency Allowances meant to be spent anyhow the legislative members so personally decides, and they only have to retire the documents of how they spent the money (just the way the Executive arm is entitled to spend and retire the “Security Vote” without vetting and without checks-and-balances)?? .. In Summary,, all I needed to know is: If there are “Checks-and-Balances” put in place that are supposed to be monitoring and tracking the spending/usage of the Constituency Allowances by the legislative members. .. The response I get on this would help me in knowing how to start to hold my Legislative Representatives accountable.
