E get one video like that, a man was holding video-camera in a selfie position from about 50 metres away and was pointig to a group of people standing under a shed and be shouting: “Is that an election? I'm asking you ..(he was asking me - the viewer).. Is that an election?” .. What happened inside the video? A man was just shouting and venting his anger passionately. Which day did the event in the video happen? I can't say. Where was that sef? I no know ooo. Did he give us any idea of what happened at the place that he was pointing at? Not at all. |

For all those persons that usually love to capture and report events with videos (especially Election-related events, Violence-related events, Accident-scene events, and so on), if you want to record/capture such events on video with the intention of reposting these videos later for public consumption, please make sure to include the following important ingredients: 1. Date and Time: (Very Important)Make sure to use a time-stamped camera, or alternatively, you need to talk with your own mouth inside the video, and mention the exact date and time that the video was recorded. This is very important, so that the video can't be claimed to be an old video.. Again, it will prevent your video from being regurgitated in the future as if it happened again sometime in the future. 2. Venue of Event:Make sure to mention the exact venue of the event while the video was still recording. This will prevent people from tagging another venue to the video, either in error or for propaganda purposes. 3. Brief Description of the Event:Make sure to describe the event that took place inside the video, so that the viewers won't waste much time trying to understand what was happening inside your video. 4. Include Reasonable Information:Even if you cannot go close enough to capture more details of the information as it is, try and explain things further while the video is still recording. 5. Avoid Video Editing:Since you want your viewers to believe that your video is a real-life event, then you shouldn't edit it. Not even one bit. 6. Don't Ever Pause-And-Unpause:If you Pause-And-Unpause while recording, your video would jump at that spot, and your viewers would think that you did cut-and-join manipulation at that spot. .. .. |

Politics › Re: New Improved NIN Charges: What Is The Government's Endgame? by BluntCrazeMan: 5:50am On Jul 10, 2021 |
Sanchez01: I saw this thread (https://www.nairaland.com/6641235/how-print-improved-nin-slip) last night and I wondered why the government can't be consistent for once. It is not just about getting Nigerians to link their NIN to their SIMs now but something else. I logged on to the portal (https://myportal.nimc.gov.ng/) this morning and saw some ridiculous things that only the Nigerian government is capable of attempting.
First, I was greeted with the picture below on the portal and I wondered why a National Commission tasked with regulating identity issues give me CREDITS (I have 30, according to my dashboard). Why would I need to purchase a SUBSCRIPTION from a government's portal; not just anyone but an IDENTITY COMMISSION PORTAL
https://petsquo.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/1.png
As if that wasn't enough, I clicked through the subscription link only to find ridiculous tiers of subscriptions; from N100 to N1,000,000, all promising various degrees of credits. Is the government planning on charging Nigerians based on how their NIN QR codes or details are queried during verifications in banks, airports and in other places, particularly government establishments Why am I given 30 CREDITS if it doesn't matter or mean anything?
https://petsquo.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/2.png
Not only that, but I also found out that there is a "PREMIUM NIN SLIP" section other than the "IMPROVED NIN SLIP". Although the "PREMIUM NIN SLIP" is currently unavailable, I am wondering why there is a class-play in the NIN slip.
https://petsquo.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/3.png
The IMPROVED NIN costs N400 to download. However, I am somewhat convinced of what will likely play out.
1. The NIMC will discard the current slips and will most likely ask banks and other places where the ID is required to only honour the "IMPROVED NIN" or "PREMIUM NIN". 2. This will compel people to download for N400. 3. Say 50 million Nigerians pay N400 each to download the "IMPROVED NIN", this means the NIMC will be making N20 billion Naira from that alone. The number is a worst-case scenario since I anticipate that it will be mandated
MY QUESTIONS
1. Why is an identity commission bent on making money through the provision of NATIONAL IDs? 2. What is the purpose of the subscriptions its portal? 3. Why do Nigerians need NIMC CREDITS and why do we need to buy? 4. Why is there a PREMIUM NIN SLIP 5. Why do I need to pay N400 for a virtual card I will have to print and laminate on my own 6. Isn't it the duty of the Commission to provide Nigerians with FREE National IDs? 7. Who approved of this useless idea 8. Why do I have DEPENDENTS on my portal; implying I could share my subscriptions with them 9. Are the law-making arms of government aware of this daylight Oyenusi stunt? (Not like they are useful anyways but I am not sure there was any discussion on NIMC creating a money-making portal in the legislature.) 10. What is the endgame of government; to sap Nigerians further through insane anti-people policies as always and further create a class divide through the ID cards we carry around? Let me answer Question-2. The credits are used to verify. If someone verifies you, you Won't be Charged at-all. But if you verify someone, then, you would be charged 1-credit per verification. Therefore, banks and other firms that would be doing lots of verifications are going to be needing the subscriptions. |

Oggolden001: A degree in architecture nd that in civil engineering which is more sustainable in the nigerian society? Please i need advice bcuz i'm finding it hard to choose btw this two. Heres me like, i b average maths student wey like to draw alot especially building related drawings/environmental drawings too. Heres my jamb subj comb, maths, physics, chem nd english. Please advice from experience persons in the field will be veryly appreciated. (if there is any word as such) Architects draw buildings and give beauty to buildings. Civil Engineers do the Calculations of the workability and sustainability of all the beautiful things which the architect introduced in the building. They do different things. Now, a civil engineer does more. A civil engineer can design and construct other things apart from buildings such as bridges, dams, steel-structures, roads, flood-control e.t.c |

Today we stay in a massive 3 bedroom flat all rooms ensuite with separate toilet for visitors. Next will be our very own duplex.
So, nothing is wrong with this apartment. If my wife gets to read this, she might think that I was the one that typed this with another moniker. Your story is just exactly mine too. |

omenka: The last thing some of these Igbos want to see is the disappearance or reduction of the popular "Buhari hates Igbos" craze that has taken a strangle hold over the East. Upon this craze some of them have built their little political fiefdoms.
That is the essense of the title of this article. It doesn't matter the inclusion of two other states from that East, nah, it must be the Exclusion of ANY of the FIVE, notwithstanding only sixteen states in all 36 are beneficiaries. You just have to do anything to promote that preconceived notion and hatred for the man. Anything outside that is unacceptable.
One of the Benefitting state is even that is Kanu, Abia, but it doesn't matter! If four had been on the list with the exception of only Abia, they caption wouldn't have changed in nature. Maybe they would have attributed it to Buhari's hate for Kanu.
It is just appalling. Houses are sinking and falling inside giant gullies in Anambra State. But they chose to construct a bridge and do maintenance works on a road in Abia State And call it Erosion Control. And you're here saying what?? Which State out of the two States needed urgent emergency intervention on its numerous actively devastating erosion sites? |

SmartPolician: What we should be pushing for is restructuring (chiefly resource control and state police) so that states can start doing their projects without the support of the federal government. That way, no state will feel that they weren't treated well when projects are spread across the federating units. This is what it is just supposed to be. |

BluntCrazeMan: . (By Ikenna Okonkwo on 07/07/2021) .. .. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N16, 041,101,334.79 billion for erosion control projects in 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, disclosed this to State House correspondents at the end of the weekly FEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said the benefiting states include Abia, Imo, Ogun, Osun, Cross River, Adamawa, Gombe, Taraba, Jigawa, Katsina, Kwara and Niger.
Anambra and Enugu states with most gully site in the Southeast were left out, Whirlwindnews.com.ng reports.
“The Ecological Fund projects for the 3rd and 4th quarters of last year were approved. They are soil and pollution control intervention projects
“These are the projects that were approved; Erosion flood control, bridge reconstruction and road improvement at Umonyi-Nkpa communities of Bende Local Government Area of Abia State; Gully erosion control works at Umukoro lower Okata community in Ihite Ogoma Local Government Area of Imo State; Imaluomi erosion control project phase II, Ogun State; afforestation combating land degradation road improvement measures in Osun State and erosion control at Calabar Free Trade Zone in Cross River State.
“Erosion and Road improvement works at Yelwa Private School and Police Station Road, Yola, Adamawa State; ecological problems at Federal College of Education (Technical) Gombe; flood and erosion menace affecting community and environs in Lau Local Government Area phase II in Taraba State; erosion and flood control at Birnin Kudu-Kafingana, Tsamiya Local Government in Jigawa State; flood erosion control works from Kano road to main water channel in Daura, Katsina State, phase II; Asa river erosion and flood control project at Ilorin in Kwara State; erosion flood control and environmental degradation at Agai and Lapai communities in Niger State and finally, soil erosion, river channelisation and slope protection within Maitama District, phase III FCT, in Abuja,” he said.
