This is why I hate Nigeria, imagine an oil rich state as Port Harcourt having big issues like this. This black soot will kill people faster. That's why quality of life here is low even if you are wealthy, you won't last to enjoy your money, many things to kill you in Nigeria. At least if you're abroad, even on minimum wage your quality of life is higher than a wealthy man in Nigeria, fresher air, better quality foods, no policemen harassment and shooting, Availability of fire service and ambulance and so forth. Please is it always a win win situation? I read somewhere that the application has to be within 4 months after the main applicant has left the country. This is confusing. |

I understand your situation as a Pharmacist. Please start looking for alternative, check online for qualifying exams to developed countries like Australia, Canada etc misterme: You are funny sir. You can't fathom how a man will set aside 62.5% of his monthly income for house keeping alone. Your error lies in the fact that you assume all Nigerians earn huge salaries. No, we all don't.
Let me create a scenario for you. Imagine you had a good job 16 years ago. You worked in the pharmaceutical marketing industry. You earned decent salary. You also had a legitimate way to make extra income while in the field. You had an official car. You met a beautiful young lady in one church program. One thing led to another and 3 years later you two were married.
Less than 2 months after, you realize you have made the greatest mistake of your life. You realize that the person you thought you knew is totally different from the person now living in your house as your wife. Within the first few months of the marriage she ran away a number of times from your house for several days. The marriage almost ended even before the end of the first year of the marriage. The reasons were so flimsy. In fact on one occasion she said she's done with the marriage because I gave my little cousin a small phone of 4k without telling. Note that she was in school then in the North and I was in a city in the South East. I visited my uncle (who mostly trained me in the Uni). His last daughter lost her phone. I just reached out and gave her my second phone after removing my sim. About an hour later my wife called me on that line but couldn't reach me. She later called on my main line. I told I gave my cousin my 4k phone. She was so angry she said she's no longer marrying.
Today I seriously regret not insisting on ending the marriage as she wanted it.
I can go on and on. Catalog of woes for these 15 years. There were some (though few moments) of happiness. That's why we have 3 children.
When Buhari came to power, my company downsized. I was redeployed to where I couldn't work because it will involve telling lies everyday literally. I had some side hustle then. I decided to resign instead of positioning myself for life of lies. Perhaps that was a mistake. I tried but couldn't get another job. Either the companies needed younger persons or the needed some with MBA in marketing. Both conditions were not in my favour. I only have B.Pharm. I also lost a lot of money on forex trading. I was compelled to take up employment as a superintendent pharmacist in a Community Pharmacy. Ask any pharmacist you know how much community pharmacists who are not owners of the business earn.
You ask how I pay rent and school fees? As a Superintendent Pharmacist I get paid a reasonable amount every January when I preregister the Pharmacy and renew the operational license. This amount takes care of schools for 2nd term and rent. First term and third term schools fees are always a struggle. But God has been faithful, working a number of miracles for us including using family members to help. This is how I have been managing for about 6 years now. My goal is to set up my own Pharmacy early next year. I have been able to get some people to commit to financing it.
I don't have to tell you all these but I am in the mood to write today. Besides it helps to ease the pain the heart.
Everything I wrote earlier is the truth. Forgive the typo errors. I was walking to the Pharmacy where I work when I modified the message and typed the second part of the write. Hence the errors |
Health › Re: Antibiotics After Sex by Blurpy(op): 8:41pm On Nov 16, 2021 |
https://www.nairaland.com/6851516/antibiotics-after-sexSequel to this thread and the general notion of taking antibiotic tablets after round of sexual intercourse, I deemed it fit as a health worker to do my part to educate the public here on this misinformation. First of all, there are many sexual transmitted infections ranging from bacterial to viral to protozoal to fungal infections. If one has unprotected sex, one can either have any of the above classes of infection depending on the status of the partner. Even for bacterial infections, there are different classes of antibiotics for different infections, So the antibiotic you are taking might not be able to do anything to that particular organism. For example, Gonorrhoea which is caused by the microorganism Neisseria gonnorhea is not susceptible to Ampicillin or Tetracycline, so taking those cocktail of antibiotics, you are just wasting your time and increasing antimicrobial resistance in your body. What about viral infections, do antibiotics have any effect on them? Or will you start taking all the antivirals and antibiotics? The best thing is to use protection always with sex. If you have had unprotected sex, there is nothing you can do to prevent the infection, Go for a test later, Microscopy, culture and Sensitivity Test to know the particular microorganism and antibiotic that is susceptible to it before you take. Antimicrobial Resistance is on the rise. Antimicrobial Resistance in layman's terms means when you have abused that drug by taking it anyhow, the time you need it to work, it wouldn't work for you. Thanks! Cc: Dominique, sissy3 |

I can relate. Primary education is very key and important, it determines the how intellectual a child will be in future. My primary school education formed me and made me who I am today, secondary school and university na mostly cruise as I had the brain already.
Find a good school and enroll your son, not all these schools that employ and exploit graduate to be paying then 20k ooh, I mean well renowned school with seasoned teachers who have core values. Omo, till date, I still remember the lessons I had in my primary school vividly, but I barely remember the secondary school own. It may not be cheap however but it's worth it . All these kids that smash IELTS, TOEFL and get 9As in waec in their ss3 , it was due to quality education in their formative years. Most primary and secondary schools in Nigeria now are just doing rubbish. No quality! |

Lol,call on which government to act? The same Nigerian government gave them the leverage to act, they have their own cut from the racket. Isn't it Nigerians that met them to start the racketeering? Nothing media rants will do, all the embassies dey do Shakara for Nigeria so it's not even an issue. Have you heard of what Nigerian embassies do abroad? What about passport racketeering in immigration offices? Even Nigerian consulate in Johannesburg gan gan, the passport racketeering, there was a protest and media coverage of it with news all over but till now the problem isn't still solved. The corruption is from the top so if those at the top are corrupt, the citizens rant or media no go change shit. Even usa embassy nko , haven't you seen the article of how they make millions daily. Lol ...the country is trash, that's why. In Kenya, Botswana, Ghana etc they don't pass through half of the hurdles we pass through to migrate, why? Because their country are ok and just few people migrate but here everybody wan travel so they treat us like shit. Lion123: Lol. Not necessarily. This is a story written by a Nigerian Journalist some time ago about the wickedness of the S.A High Commission in Nigeria -- https://www.icirnigeria.org/how-south-africa-denies-nigerians-entry-through-late-issuance-of-visa/
I only need to invoke this old article to trusted Nigerian media people to get them angry again, and tell them of the nonsense these S.A people are doing. Media in Nigeria is fraternal and these guys hate the S.A Embassy with so much passion because many of them have been on the receiving end of the wickedness of the S.A High Commission in the past. By the time 6 or more high profile outlets expose this S.A Visa racket and intentional deliberate withholding of passport and call on the govt to act, there will be results. You Nigerians just resign yourselves to nonsense and give up so easily and that's why govt and everyone keeps giving you nonsense. Keep giving excuses that everyone is corrupt and don't go and fight. I've fought many media battles over injustice and won...you have no idea. Stop being so defeatist and learn to take your chances in battle. |

You have spoken well That johncables guy is not enlightened at all Somandla: The empty arrogance of most Nigerians beats me. As a professional who has lived in SA for 22 years, I have seen over the years how the reputation of Nigeria has gone down, thanks to the unending fraudulent activities of a lot of Nigerians. Drugs, internet fraud, and fraud in general. In SA, senegalese people own shops and boutiques, I know Ghanian people who own good businesses. Manufacturing of products that occupy the shelves of chain stores. I have lots of friends who are building contractors and still continue to make good money doing clean legit businesses. Not to talk of lawyers, accountants, doctors etc. The issue is that the Nigerians who do clean businesses and ply their profession are in the very very minority. I as a Nigerian get panic attacks going into johannesburg cbd. If those Nigerians all over hillbrow are what Nigerians are made of, then I think South Africans are actually very patient. Why do Nigerians find it soooo difficult to be part of a progressive society. And please if you think white in SA like Nigerians, then you need a reality check. Whites are not willing to participate in addressing past injustices that the apartheid government did. They would make friends with anyone who speaks evil of the locals. Whites are hardly your friend...wake up! Their distaste for you might be subtle..but don't get it twisted....who are you If you are from Ghana, your SA visa application can be done online and an approval sent to you online, if you are from Benin republic, you do not need a visa to get into SA and I am sure it's like that with so many other African countries. Instead of us introspecting, we cry foul...talk of jealousy...call indigenous people lazy...yet the evil that we do live with and after us. Nigerians...., start by changing your orientation, to by pass the laws of a land and undermine it, is not smartness. To go to people's country and become human traffickers, drug dealers and internet fraudsters is not hardwork. It's destroying those countries and creating problems for other well meaning Nigerians who want to migrate and be a progressive part of other societies and those who want to genuinely visit and explore other countries. South Africa has its own problems...and has the citizens fight to rescue their country from high crime rate, employment and greedy politicians, Nigerians should not further burden their system or make the hurdle harder . Dubai is an example... people would take steps to preserve their country.. African brotherhood should not destroy, it should build. |
