The answers are in that my submission. You also said APC has to pick a Christian if they want to win. Let me start here. 98% of people complaining are PDP with about 96% of them IBO. They (PDP & IBO) should allow Tinubu to pick a Muslim so that it would be easier for PDP to win. Remember since 2020, the IBO youths said they prefer death to Tinubu becoming President and you can see Ohaneze Ndigbo assault and vendetta against an individual from another tribe. They should allow him to pick Muslim so that all the Christians in Africa can vote for Atiku and Peter Obi.

Now coming back to your last statement, One of my personal friends once served as a top diplomat in Niger & Chad and acting Ambassador as a young man. Before Amalgamation and before independence, the North was predominantly an Islamic nation. Ahmadu Bello is an Arabic scholar. Under British, they used Sharia Penal codes. They have Sharia judiciary.

In the South West, western education of our political fathers have seen that religion is a personal conviction and has nothing to do with developmental issues. Politics is a religion of interests. Democracy is a game of numbers. We know this from our forefathers. The issue on ground is fundamental. It should have been settled before independence and in 1959.

Nobody stops Christian - Christian ticket but it cannot win election because of the Islamic system in the North. The constitution does not stipulate religion as basis for being a President or vice President because it would create a situation where Muslims from the South West cannot aspire for the Presidency. The IBOs said the North does not recognize South West Muslim how come they are now complaining about Muslim - Muslim tickets. Even if Tinubu chose Pope Francis as VP, Tinubu enemies will not vote for him.

Let it shock everybody. Tinubu is from South West. In South West, our Political fathers did not practice a politics of religious sentiment. Our training is based on that as can be seen below.

1. Awolowo is a Christian, Akintola is a Christian.

2. In the second republic, Lateef Jakande is a Muslim, Rafiu Jafojo is a Muslim.

At Oyo, Bola Ige is Christian, Sunday Afolabi is a Christian.

At Ondo, Baba Ajasin - Christian, Omoboriowo - Christian.

I can name States in the middle belt and north with Christian - Christian and those with Muslim - Muslim tickets.

BACKGROUND.
The North (Arewa) before amalgamation and before Independence was predominantly a Muslim nation just like Niger, Chad, etc. That is why they use Sharia Penal Codes.

Abiola - Kingibe worked in 1993 just as Jakande - Jafojo worked in Lagos 1979 - 1983.

During the first and second republic, Awolowo, never considered religion . Voters in South West never considered religion. Shagari is from the North and he picked Ekwueme from the East. The choice was not because of religion. The Senate President, Speaker were Christians, they were not chosen based on religion.

You cannot create a situation whereby only Christian from the South can occupy the President or the Vice President office. The Muslim in South can never accept that. If Muslim - Muslim ticket is not feasible, then it means, only Christian from the South can occupy the President or the Vice President office. This is not possible and not in the constitution. It is left to the voters to determine their President.

As at 1983, in NPN, if Abiola had been allowed to contest, there was every probability he would have chosen a Muslim from the core North.

Making it mandatory that only Christian from the South can be a President or Vice President is not constitutional. That is what introduction of Religion as criterion for President or Vice President would create and that is why it can never be in Constitution.

Enough of emotions and wishful thinking, election will show you the reality.

They should leave Tinubu alone. Anybody from the North can be chosen irrespective of religion. They said only Yoruba would vote for him, they should forget analysis and wait till 2023. Jokers. If it would make Atiku to win easily, why should that be their headache? If all Christians in Africa would vote for Atiku, is that not good? Jokers. They want Amaechi or Osinbajo so that they can have a walkover 2023 general election. Now that failed, they are talking about Muslim - Muslim ticket.

Truth be told religion is just something to keep the masses busy.....when it comes down to it religion takes a back seat in politics......if Buhari had picked Tinubu as his running mate in 2015 they would have won because the SW will still have voted en masse.....the SW have a lot of Muslims among them are quite religiously tolerant. If Tinubu fields a Muslim VP he will win the SW votes not to talk of the North who will stand behind him...... At this point a Muslim/ Muslim ticket is his best chance.
