PoliticsBauchi PDP Guber Candidate Steps Down, Party To Hold Another Primary by Bobloco(op): 10:01pm On May 31, 2022
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State is set to conduct a fresh governorship primary election following the stepping down of the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Kassim Ibrahim Mohammed.

In a telephone interview with our correspondent on Tuesday, the party’s state publicity secretary, Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari, explained that the PDP gubernatorial candidate has voluntarily withdrawn from the 2023 governorship race.

According to Zainbari, the new primary election will take place on Saturday.

It would be recalled that Mohammed was the sole governorship aspirant in the party’s gubernatorial primary election in which he amassed all the delegates’ votes of 655 with only one invalid vote, to emerged the governorship candidate last week.

Mohammed, who is the immediate-past secretary to the state government, joined the Bauchi gubernatorial race after incumbent Governor Bala Mohammed opted for presidential race on the platform of the party.

However, Governor Mohammed lost the presidential primary election at the last weekend’s special national convention of the PDP in Abuja.

Politics2023: We Won’t Allow Campaigns For Igbo Presidential Candidates In North — Arewa by Bobloco(op): 5:41pm On May 30, 2022
2023: We won’t allow campaigns for Igbo Presidential Candidates in North — Arewa Group to Ohanaeze

Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), an Arewa Group, has vowed to disrupt campaign events of Igbo presidential candidates in the North after a similar threat was issued by a prominent Ndigbo group ahead of the 2023 general polls.

President of NYCN, Comrade Isah Abubakar, was reacting to the threat of the apex Igbo socio-political and cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide to oppose Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on which platform the former Vice President recently emerged Presidential candidate.

Reacting to Atiku’s victory, Ohanaeze, had in a statement through its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said that the PDP presidential candidate would never become Nigeria’s president.

The group also made it clear that no Igbo person would be allowed to campaign and project Atiku’s presidential agenda in the region, describing the PDP, which is the main opposition political party in Nigeria as having been reduced to a “Northern party.”

Ohanaeze rejected Atiku’s candidacy, alleging that his emergence as PDP’s candidate was a plot by unpatriotic Northerners against the Southern part of the country.

But NYCN National President, Comrade Isah Abubakar, however, chided Ohanaeze for attempting to stock mutual hatred, and ethnic division among Nigerians, by coming out openly to condemn the transparent process that threw up Atiku as PDP’s flagbearer, ahead of next year’s presidential election.

According to him, Ohanaeze, as a group, has turned itself into agent of disunity, whose stock in trade is to incite Nigerians of varying ethnic, religious, and political creeds against each other.

Isah urged South East elders to quickly call Ohanaeze to order, with a view to forestalling the possibility of other regional ethnic groups issuing same kind of violent threats to politicians from the South East.

“If they don’t do the needful, we may be forced to also take a drastic action against South East presidential candidates. We won’t allow them to set their foot on our land. Otherwise, the consequences will be grave. It is time radical and ethnic chauvinistic groups like the Ohanaeze are cut to size,” Isah said.

Built2last:
Question for all of your feeling cool that northerner won the PDP ticket.

Can we flip the coin for a second and use our tiniest brain

If a Southerner had done 8 years in office and political parties fielded another Southerner as party flag bearer, WILL THE NORTH not set Nigeria on Fire. It appears normal because it favours them now.

APC is planning to give their ticket to another Northerner. It appears Normal.

For a second, imagine Osinbajo doing 8 years as a president and ploting to hand over to an Igbo man or someone from Niger Delta.

Will Nigeria not be on fire by now.

The likes of hELL RUFAI would have gone to BBC Hausa to mobilise Northerners that the South is overriding them.

What you won't take from your neighbours, don't do it.

We all know the delay in APC Presidential primaries is that they want to have a consensus candidate and that candidate has to be a Northerner.

and don't come to preach competence to me cause the South is more competent if competence has a meaning in Nigeria

Shame on the likes of Reno Omokri, Orhi Uzo Kalu and FFK who were formerly proponents of fairness and equity now wanting power to remain in the North after 8 years for the sole purpose of selfish interest.

Orji uzo wants Lawan so he can be vice president, Reno wants Atiku so that he can end his political exile and return home with an appointment

FFK na anywhere belle face. I wont be surprised he might be decamping soon back to PDP.

APC wants power to remain in the North because Buhari feels North is more competent and gives them more chances of winning.

Shame and tueh on every southerner endorsing this charade that not a single Northerner will accept if its the south doing it.
Honestly, Reno desperately needs it so that he can return from his self inflicted exile
PoliticsEnugu 2023: Ekweremadu’s Demand Is Evil, Ignoble - Ugochukwu Agballah by Bobloco(op): 11:05am On May 30, 2022
The All Progressives Congress(APC) in Enugu State on Sunday explained that it rejected the desperate moves by the former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu to “hijack” the party’s governorship ticket.

The party’s position followed speculations around Ekweremadu’s political future following his withdrawal from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) governorship primary election in Enugu last week.

The state chairman of the party, Chief Ugochukwu Agballah who briefed newsmen in Enugu on Sunday, said the party rejected the pressures mounted by Ekweremadu on the APC in Abuja to grab its ticket.

He, however, said such a move would never work, describing it as evil.

Agballah added: “Ekweremadu is a man I have great respect for. We have held discussions, on the need for him to come and join us as a member of the party, the same way I met other persons.

“I reached out to him before our primary, but he informed me in the presence of the Southeast chairman of our party, that we should give him our ticket for governorship position.

“Even after our primary, he is still insisting that we should give him ticket.

“And I’m baffled because his demand is repugnant to natural justice, at variance with the Electoral Act, which he is one of the makers.

“His demand is evil, ignoble, shows that a man does not change his colour.

“He is in court claiming that he was subverted during the PDP primary, but the same man is now running up and down, disturbing us up and down, mobilizing Senators to prevail on our national chairman to subvert the Electoral Act.

“The Electoral Act is clear, nobody can give him a waiver to undo what we did.

“Uche Nnaji is our candidate; he emerged after a primary election duly observed by INEC.

“We want Ekweremadu to be our member but we cannot give him our governorship ticket. These are some of the things that give bad image to Nigerian politicians.

“Ekweremadu wants to be governor but the position was not even zoned to Enugu West, but he wants to take Enugu East turn. Now, he wants to come and subvert APC, where I am the chairman. And I ask, what kind of a man is Ekweremadu, who is this Ekweremadu?

“He is not a member of APC and he is demanding our ticket, is he now blinded by ambition. If I see him in my party, I will treat him like a mad man.

“His demands portend grave danger to our political system. I will not allow desperados to come and scatter what we have laboured for.

“Ekweremadu has been in power for 24 years, he should support others. It must not be about him all the time. We are not operating absolute monarchy.”

kettykings:
There are more than 4 million Igbos in the south West, 8 million Igbos in South South, 10 million Igbos in the north who can tilt/ swing the Apple cart any day
This is what most people have failed to understand, the Igbos have a significant population living and working/doing business outside the south east. In fact, in all the states outside the south east, after the indigenes, the Igbo is next tribe with a sizeable population and they vote during elections. Eg Kano, Lagos State.

Every one was clamouring for power to return south,
While that clamour was on, the south west said that they are to go for it, when they know that in the same south, south east is yet to have a go at it. Is that not sabotage.
The south is not ready

Look at the just concluded PDP primary, Tambuwal stepped down and supported Atiku thereby making it easy for Atiku to garner support from the north west thereby making it possible to win

PoliticsRe: Implications Of Atiku Abubakar Clinching 2022 PDP Presidential Primary by Bobloco: 6:30am On May 29, 2022
Oleys:
Atiku Abubakar wins PDP primary.

The former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has won the 2023 PDP Presidential ticket.

He got 373 votes beating Wike’s 224. He led him with 149 votes

Aminu Tambuwal stepped down for Atiku for him to gather the core North votes. Unfortunately the southern votes were splitted by Pius Anyim’s, Udom Emmanuel’s and Nwachukwu’s

With the emergence of Atiku as PDP standard candidate, take it to the bank, APC will not field Tinubu, Osinbajo or Amaechi so that it won’t make the Goodluck Jonathan’s mistake of 2015.

Rabiu Kwankwaso, another northerner has put more pressure on the southerners once he emerges as the presidential candidate of his NNPP party and i can’t see anyone stopping him

The southern candidates are technically out of the equation.

Presidency is going to the North and if it ends that way, this is end of rotational presidency in Nigeria

Make nobody come dey tell me say na British be our problems in Nigeria

As it happened in 1960 when Nnamdi Azikwe could not form a coalition partnership with Awolowo to form the national government, history is repeating itself again because the southern politicians cannot look at the big picture and work together.

This is a self inflicted wound by the south because the children of Awolowo and Nnamdi Azikwe have not learnt from the mistakes of their fathers. While blowing gramnar, making noise all over the media that power must come to the South , the North were politically and silently working towards knocking out this gentleman agreement

Nigerian south, north is your boss when it comes to politics.

The crowning of Atiku as the next President may have begun because the southern politicians in APC may undermine their party just like the northerners worked against Goodluck Jonathan in PDP because of the jettisoning of the gentleman rotational agreement in 2015.

So the serial loser Atiku may repeat the “Buhari effect” in 2023

Wetin i sabi sef?
