babyphaze07:Good question. I really don't understand how Nigerians do business. In a normal society, there is nothing suggestive about fighting crime. |
SexyStrawberry:Lol.. you know who else said that? Bobby Brown. He was doing whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. He didn't have to give an account to people. He even sang a song about it. What he didn't know was that his daughter was watching everything he was doing. She thought to herself that "yeah, i can also do what i want". Wrong. Now she's dead from a drug overdose at 22. Why did she she take to drugs? because of her parents. Like it or not, we as individuals will always give account of our actions one way or the other. There is nothing like true freedom. It comes with a price. A married woman or man who visits clubs is courting with trouble. Temptations abound everywhere and your job is to limit it. Why would anyone want to be around where alcohol flows freely, and prostitutes are available when they are married? When you get married, your priorities shifts. Your main focus is your family and how to make life better for them. That in itself is a handful. |
Pidggin:Again you misunderstand. You seem to want to see or hear what you want. I hope for your sake that you are not married because you are courting with avoidable problems. Like it or not, people of like minds move together. That is how it is, and that is how it will always be. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of conversations they would have. Their priorities and interests would be different, so what could they have to talk about? And just so you'd know, marriage is not a status; it is a responsibility which has to be managed carefully. |
Pidggin:OOOooooh. You de find trouble. Temptations abound everywhere. You job is to limit it. Of course married men who hang around other married men cheat. But that is a different topic altogether. First you have to minimize your interactions with single folks. Then also, if you find out that the married individual you are hanging around also has tendencies to lead you astray you avoid them as well. Too easy. |
Pidggin:No. That is not my point. When i was single i sowed my oats thoroughly. I had my fill. Now things like that don't interest me. Been there, done that. Are you saying you've only had one girlfriend your entire life? Anyway, Let's say as a married man, i keep visiting you at home and you are single. Your girlfriend comes in from time to time. One day, she brings her friend to visit you and i happen to be there that day. Also, i just had a big fight with my wife and i'm pissed. Really pissed. Your girlfriend's friend is very beautiful and starts winking at me. With my state of mind, anything could happen. To avoid situations like that, it is better to hang with people who have the same interests as yours. I wonder what kind of conversations a married person and a single person would have? |
babsnuel:Let me guess; you are still single. ![]() |
Pidggin:This is not the reason. The priorities of a married individual is very different from that of a single person. Your interests do not match. The married individual obviously will be thinking more of their immediate family and putting his/her household in order whilst the single man/woman is still in the market and things like clubs and parties and sowing their wild oats would still be on the table. There is no freaking way i would advice a married man or woman to keep single friends. That's how you get into trouble. If you are man or woman and your husband or wife is still busy hanging around their single friends, then it might behoove you to cut that cord. |
EroticAngelina:Thank you. Well said. |
A better headline is TINUBU receives 433 billion Naira. |
voltron:I remember a time when GAY actually meant happy. I miss the good old days. |
meforyou1:Sue someone, anyone. The point is, they should not have embarked or disembarked the plane. And yes they could. Rope everyone together and make it a class action. |
Codedrock:"writer and passer". Jesus christ. I wonder what they teach in schools these days. |
Sibrah:But he's right na. They CHOSE the option to embark/disembark using a ladder as rightly said. No one forced them to do it. The way it is done in NORMAL societies is not to embark/disembark at all and then SUE the pants out of the airline and demand that someone in charge resign or be fired. The problem is the way most Nigerians think leaves much to be desired. It is like the norm in normal societies is abnormal in Nigeria. |
CharlesPhc:I think you misunderstood what john maxwell said. Every leader since independence is to blame for where we are as a nation. All this didn't just start today. The only way you can blame this present administration is if everything was groovy in the past and all of a sudden things went bad. As far as i can remember, things have always been terrible in Nigeria since independence, so blaming Buhari is nonsensical. Nigerians never rate performances on how good things were; it is always rated on how bad compared to the last administration. Depending on which administration was/is in power. Understand and accept the root cause of your problems and maybe you can start to change things around. |
Speechless3:You fail to realise that it is not the color that is being referred to but the RACE. It is same as saying "Russian beauty" or "Afghan beauty". It is more of a DESCRIPTIVE ADJECTIVE. Obviously "black" on it's own is dull and uninteresting and more often than not is associated with evil. |

here we go again. |
delectablegyal:Funny thread. Would you buy a car without test driving it? People underate the power of sexual compatibility. Or the lack of it. I'd rather find out we don't blend together that way than find out when we are married. |
Destined2win:If you are a Nigerian citizen and you've not learnt anything from GEJ, buhari, obasanjo, etc then you need to consider yourself lucky. The standards and examples they've set is not what you want to inculcate into your life. Unless you are into corruption, and mismanagement then go right ahead. |
dammytosh:Lol. . .funny guy. PDP, APC, AD, XNT, SDP, QRP, . Nigeria has not seen one averagely decent political party since the pre-independence parties faded away. When you have a PP and in your ranks are looters and touts masquerading as leaders, then there is a problem. Worse is when the citizens support them en mass. Nigerians live in too much denial. The fact that one would compare PDP to APC or APC to PDP is in itself laughable. They are both useless. I really don't know why Nigerians forget too quickly. Part of the reason is not understanding their own history and the other is not knowing what quality leadership is. There has never been one decent government in their history but yet they want to compare governments. Na really wah for una. |
Riensi:You've just proved my point. It doesn't matter why Nigerian's have a messed up mentality, the point is they do and they need to change it. |
Riensi:So bad leadership is the reason people think it's ok to use ladder to board planes. The right thing to do is not board, Sue the airline and demand someone's resignation. Is it leadership that prompts people to set other's on fire for no other reason than instant judicial gratification? The right thing would be to hand them over to the law. I remember each time I visit Nigeria. The aggressive look on people's faces is scary as hell. I just get the feeling anything can happen. Everyone want's to be a "sharp guy". |
Chimezie198:This sentence should not have even been considered. The Nigerian mentality at it's finest. Anything is ok as long as there is financial gratification involved. Na wa for una. |
Toks2008:OP na wah for you ooo. I go de bug una till una get sense. So your headline make sense to you. Have you been to heaven before? Why you come put "never" na? Na really wah for una. |
CoolUsername:Why? I have the right to inflate dolls and then send them in a balloon if want and also lay clothes on the ground in front of my house na. |
Riensi:That's where you go it wrong. Nigeria has gone through enough leaders to realise that it is a mentality thing. you forget that it is an average Nigerian that becomes a leader. The mentality he's had is what he will use to lead you. Haven't we seen the jubilation when people engage in jungle justice? No normal society does that. you need to have a mentality for it for that to happen. Recently we saw the news of people climbing ladder to board a plane. In normal societies someone would have been sacked by now but it's business as usual. |
A couple of years ago my wife started bugging me about going back to Nigeria. I tried all i could to make her realise that it would be a horrible mistake. She would have none of it. Then I started showing her front page stories on Nairaland. After a couple of horror stories she had a change of heart. There so much death and destruction a person's mind can take. Thanks Nairaland for helping me out and seun especially. |
efilefun:Lol. ...You are funny. You talk as if people don't travel in and out of Nigeria constantly. Not to talk of small business owners who travel out a lot. |
intrepid:The implications you say? Let me help you. When supply is limited and demand is high, price goes through the roof. Expect the price of the dollar to Naira to be at 400:1 by the end of next year. |
zinachidi:Let me summarize this for you since SH can't. 1. The Nigerian mentality is phucked up. 2. You have oil, you export it but can't refine for your own use. 3. You don't want Number 2 on the list because of corruption. 4. To solve your problems build more refineries. 5. Be more organized. 6. Countries like Germany don't have oil but there are no scarcity. Why is that? 7. The Nigerian mentality is phucked up. |
CoolUsername:They have it plenty in stores here. Especially in sex shops. |
I have been lucky in my life. I have had the opportunity to travel far and wide both in Nigeria as well as around the world. All of this on the dime of someone else. Every job i've ever had always seems to end up with me travelling as part of my responsibilities. Now, my current organization asked me to finish a project in Germany which took five years to complete and in all those years i did not see one accident. Minor or Major. Not even bumper to bumper. Why is that? Let me give you a little background. To get your driver's license will cost you 1,500 Euro or more. To pass a drivers test will almost feel like you are taking a bar exam. You can drive as fast as you want on the autobahn. 200 km or more if you can handle it and people still don't get in accidents. Why is that? If you drink an ounce of alcohol, or even taste it, and you are stopped and tested by the politzei, say goodbye to your license. They understand that driving is not a right but a privilege which can be taken away at any time. Nigerians think it is their right to operate a vehicle. In Germany everyone is on the same page because they all went to the same drivers class and they know what the standard is. So, when you stop at a four way, you already know what the other driver is going to do. No guess work. It is also mandated that you do periodic vehicle inspections to determine your vehicle's road worthiness so issues of breakdowns are at a minimum. In Nigeria it is free for all. I started driving in Nigeria when i was 12 years. I did because i could. Who's to stop me? I shudder at thought now. I could have killed someone. There is no standard, no law, no guidelines. Everyone just does whatever the phuck they want to do. Na really wah for una. |
