By Yinka Ajayi A group, which calls itself Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria (WITCAN), has described Governor Adams Oshiomhole as a workaholic while commending him for transforming Edo State. The group, which also asked Oshiomhole to put in place measures to ensure that the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state is successful, however, complained that its members were being persecuted, pleading that the persecution should stop. It spoke through its Publicity Secretary, Dr Okhue Iboi. “Members of our association are apolitical. We are not partisan. Our own concern as stakeholders in the project called Nigeria is for peace and unity to reign. Our own witches group are not evil. We do good, and promote whatever will bring progress to mankind. We love Nigeria. Oshiomhole has been working very hard in the last seven years plus, and he has transformed Edo State, but he should be very vigilant so that some hoodlums working for some political godfathers don’t unleash violence which may lead to the destruction of properties and lives,” Iboi, a trado-medical practitioner, told Sunday Vanguard in Lagos. The witches spokesman disclosed that the task of delivering the message to Oshiomhole and other political gladiators in Edo State was given to the witches during a meeting members of the group held at Irrua. “We were holding our monthly meeting at Irrua, and, suddenly, while looking at our crystal ball in the coven, we saw some things that were frightening concerning Edo and thereafter I was mandated as the spokesperson of the group to deliver this message to the governor, and other stakeholders that have one thing or the other to do with the governorship election in Edo State. But we are making a special appeal to Governor Oshiomhole because he is the Chief Security Officer of the state. He should liaise with the police, INEC and other stakeholders to ensure that peace is maintained before, during and after the elections,” Iboi said. Warning politicians in Edo State not to see the election as a do-or- die affair, he said political parties and candidates taking part in the election must respect the will of the electorate. “Power belong to God and He alone gives it to whomsoever it pleases Him to give it to. But one fact our politicians must know is that the will of the people must be respected” . While advising politicians to take the witches warning seriously, Iboi said: “Witches are not joking over this Edo election. We will not allow any individual or group to destroy the state or give it a bad name. It is unfortunate that many Nigerians are hypocrites. When they hear witches or read about witches, what comes to their mind is evil or darkness. For our own witches group, we are children of light. We are for good. Have people forgotten that even in the Bible there is a story of King Saul who consulted a witch when he was about to go into a battle to enable him know how the battle will go? “Again people tend to forget that Nigeria is a secular state, Nigeria doesn’t belong to only Christians and Muslims, the nation is for all faiths. They should stop persecuting witches or look at us with disdain. As stakeholders they should allow us to make our own contributions to the growth and development of the country.” The witches spokesperson said the election is going to be a straight battle between the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Godwin Obaseki, and that of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Pastor Ize Iyamu. “The battle is a straight one between Iyamu and Obaseki, and the election is going to be hotly contested. But on who is going to win, we are holding an emergency meeting at Ofosu next Wednesday, and the person who is going to win the election will be revealed to us at that meeting.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/08/persecuted-witches-group/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |

Yesterday was the saddest day in my life. I was at a park when i saw a woman seriously complaining about her stolen phone. So I went near her to listen to what she was saying.. I was also downloading something with my phone at that same time.. immediately she saw my phone she told the crowd that's her phone which was Samsung galaxy S6 Edge.. For a moment i couldn't even open my mouth, i was so confused. she held me and slapped me. the crowd attempted to beat me up. But luckily a policeman was passing by and he came into the scene.. He asked what was going on and i explained with tears all over my face.. He sent me to the police station together with the woman and I still explained to the policeman that i was innocent.. So the policeman asked the woman to call her phone.. she called and a girl picked and told the woman it was her daughter. The girl told the woman that she left her phone at home when she was leaving to town... I even cried more and more because I had already been disgraced .. The policeman told the woman to settle me with some money.. The woman pulled 5million naira out of her bag and wanted to hand it over to me but it was just too much for me so i just opened my eyes, stood up from my bed and went to urinate. Please do you think I should go back to sleep? |

Abuja - Mrs Mercy Abeekaa, a business woman who resides in Jikwoyi, on Thursday told a Nyanya Customary Court that her husband insulted her because of his girl friend. Mercy, who was the petitioner, said this while testifying in a divorce petition before the court. ``My husband is having an affair with his tenant, Ogechi, he has insulted me severally because of her. ``After I got married to my husband and moved in with him, I started noticing some kind of things between him and his tenant that I was not comfortable with. ``I told my husband to send her out of the house, but he refused. What my husband could say to me was that it is because of my illiteracy that I am complaining of his girlfriend. ``Even when I enrolled myself in school, he said that it was because of his girlfriend that I decided to go back to school,” she said. Abeekaa also told the court that on the day they had their marriage blessed, her husband did not sleep in the house. ``My husband slept in the hotel on the night of our wedding and when I asked him he said he was just waiting for his sacraments to be completed, so now he can do whatever he wants. ``He has chased me out of the house and has got himself another wife, therefore I beg this court to dissolve this marriage so that I can also remarry,” she said. Mr Ernest Abeekaa, who resided in Karu, denied all the allegations, saying that he thought that his wife was a God fearing woman, not knowing that she was a trouble maker. ``The moment my wife moved into my house she started fighting with my tenant because the tenant did not greet her good morning. ``My wife went around the neighbourhood telling people that I was having an affair with my tenant,” he said. He also said that his wife threatened to crumble him financially. ``My wife, on several occasions, said he was going to tell my boss that I was stealing his money, that I have built houses in the village and in Abuja. ``At a point I lost my job and everything I was doing to make money seemed unfruitful to the extent that I started borrowing. ``I am also no longer interested in the marriage,” he said. The Presiding Judge, Everyman Eleanya, adjourned the case to Aug. 15 for judgment since all efforts to reconcile the parties proved abortive. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/08/husband-slept-hotel-night-wedding/ |

Late Tochukwu Iro According to a facebook user identified as Chukwunonso Fisher, a policeman has just rendered a family fatherless. The yet-to-be-identified policeman reportedly shot Tochukwu Iro who is said to be a newly-married father of two, in Kano state, on May 28. Here’s what Chukwunonso wrote on his pagebelow: “The most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained! When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure!! We’ve lost a great treasure today in the hands of cold blooded murderers who called themselves force men! Rest In peace Tochukwu. God will surely avenge your battle! Your two beautiful daughters are now left with no father, your beloved wife is now left lonely in this wicked generation! Oh death! why now? For those who might be interested in the cause of this young mans death!!! Perhaps could help bring justice… He was unjustly shot by one of Nigeria’s police, (SARS) men here in Kano in broad daylight…the reasons for shooting this innocent civilian is what we can’t possibly explain but all we know is that justice must prevail. Those who kill by the sword must also die by the sword! Our rights as individual can’t be abused for no just cause!” RIP to him! https://www.naij.com/909212-read-policeman-newly-married-father-two-photos.html?source=index_latest lalasticlala |
Most careless and inciting statements are made in political campaign grounds NAN reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Ben Uwajumogu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of Imo North senatorial district rerun poll held on July 28. Uwajumogu received 56,076 votes and defeated Athan Achonu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who has 43, 815 votes. Arinze Agbogu, the INEC officer, who announced the outcome in the early hours of July 29, said the results were a summary of scores of July 23 and that of July 28 exercise. On July 23 Uwajumogu had scored 48,921 while Achonu of the PDP received 40, 142 votes which forced INEC to announce the election inconclusive. Likewise, the electoral body announced Nkenna Nzeruo of the APC winner of Oru East state constituency, though Collins Chiji also of APC was announced winner for Isiala Mbano state constituency. Uwajumogu told reporters in Owerri that he was highly overjoyed over the victory, continuing “my gratitude goes more to Gov. Rochas Okorocha whose structure helped me to win this senatorial election’’. After the emergence of Ben Uwajimogu as Okigwe North Senatorial district it seems that chances of Senator Ekweremadu to continue as the deputy Senate president are slim. https://www.naij.com/909071-breaking-inec-announces-results-imo-rerun-election.html?source=breaking |
Veteran actor, Pete Edochie, has been warned by some Nigerians to stay out of politics and face his acting career. Pete Edochie has called for APC governors seeking the removal of the deputy Senate president should tender their resignation letters and handover notes. The warning to Edochie comes after the actor slammed the President Muhaummadu Buhari- led government and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for plotting to remove Senator Ike Ekweremadu as the deputy Senate president. The actor who queried if Ekweremadu’s removal will help stabilize the economy, create jobs, or curtail Fulani Herdsmen from killing of helpless Nigerians among others, said the deputy Senate president should be recalled if his removal will bring solution to the problems in the country. Edochie however stated that if Ekweremadu’s removal will not proffer solutions to the challenges facing the country, then all the APC governors seeking the removal of the deputy Senate president should tender their resignation letters and handover notes. The actor’s statement has generated mixed reactions from a section of Nigerians with some suggesting that his comments could get him into trouble. But others have hailed him for speaking out on burning issues affecting the country. See reaction below: Emakpo Yenrie Austin: “Come Nor Be Juju Thing Or Occultic Film Wen U Dey Art,commot Ur Mouth 4rm Pdp And Apc Wahala.” Shedrach Da Monarch: “Some fools here is lambasting Mr Pete to remove his mouth from politics and focus on his acting career but am here to ask those fools , please can you tell me when did democracy turn strictly to the government of politicians that masses cannot interfere because the ain’t into politics?” Chijioke Dimkpa: “Sir God bless ur age we have always wanted to hear from well meaning Nigerians like you not like some of ur colleagues who have sold themselves into praise singing of this mess called APC administration.” Josephat Eze: “You no go leave them alone this one no be acting na real life something, oga clear oo hmm.” Ephraim Chukwuedo: “U spoke like a real Nigerian father, God bless u my chief, all APC chiefs are brainless house fly.” Tolulope Yemisi: “See ,people one thing about Nigeria is we’ll just stay here to talk we can do nothing.Rather, let’s pray that things will go well in the NASS because anything can happen it is in the same country that senate president was removed what did we do nothing.” Don Chimex: “ur old age is never to b toil with really u made a clear proverb is left for them to choose in between d options listed.
