PoliticsRe: We Are Ready To Work With You - Rivers APC Tells Fubara by BondRiv: 9:05pm On Sep 02, 2025
mastermaestro:
You are very wrong. Tinubu came to Wike's rescue. Fubara was effectively implementing Obaseki's template that crippled Oshiomhole's influence in Edo state. Obaseki did succeed because Buhari stayed aloof in the battle.

In this case however, Tinubu stepped in considering the votes Wike 'won' him in Rivers state. Left alone to battle it out, Wike was drowning faster than imagined. If I were to judge objectively, Wike had every right to fight to retain Rivers state political structure. Fubara was a nobody. He would not be governor without Wike. Who voted him? Every vote cast was to extend Wike's dynasty in Rivers.

The fact is that Tinubu's abracadabra intervention saved Wike.
Obaseki's template is a lawless template. Fubara was practically breaking laws every day. That Obaseki was allowed to get away with it, doesn't mean another person would. He can still be prosecuted for those infractions.

Fubara lost the battle legally and politically. He is a novice after all. His problems began with the destruction of the Assembly Building and ill-advised recognition of Edison Ehie as his own Speaker of the House.

I thoroughly analysed these issues at the time they where unfolding and saw no pathway to victory for Fubara. He was diving headfirst into disaster. If you want to revolt against your godfather, do so wisely, with the law on your side, while maneuvering politically.

Fubara was surrounded by bad and arrogant advisers, whose sole aim was getting even with Wike at all costs. There were no thinkers in the room.

The result was him being slapped by courts of different hierarchies in the country, culminating in the federal allocation being withheld.

Unfortunately, you have already entangled yourselves so much. Keep ego aside and follow the law and party constitution. Overcome present impediments, then chart a new course.

PoliticsRe: I Can Bet Tinubu Will Win In 2027 - Wike by BondRiv: 2:43pm On Sep 01, 2025
If Peter Obi runs again, Tinubu would win. I'm not inspired by Obi's candidacy, given the facts available to me.

By the way, Wike should look into Ibas' activities. Word is that he is secretly putting Calabar people into Rivers State's Civil Service.
PoliticsRe: NBA Defends Melaye’s Inclusion In 2025 CONFAB Panel by BondRiv: 10:35am On Sep 01, 2025
This administration will defend anything. They also defended the N300 million naira gift from a governor ruling like a dictator. It is just a simple case of what George Orwell alluded to in Animal Farm.
PoliticsRe: El-Rufai to Obi, Amaechi: Nobody believes your 'one term' promises by BondRiv: 10:24am On Sep 01, 2025
koning:
Peter Obi will keep to his word.

I'm not sure for Amaechi. In fact, he will not.
Actually, if there is anyone who won't keep to his word, it is Peter Obi. The records are there. Just that in this circumstance, if he chooses not to keep to his word, he won't also be re-elected. The only person I have confidence in is Amaechi.

PoliticsRe: El-Rufai to Obi, Amaechi: Nobody believes your 'one term' promises by BondRiv:
They can't go beyond four years and will be held to it, if elected. I don't know why some Northerners are obsessed with power grab. Power that you guys won't use to do anything meaningful.

El-Rufai probably has 2031 ambitions and that's his major concern. He believes these aspirants might do a second term, if elected. We must let go of this myopic obsession with power and focus on actually fixing things in this country.

If Amaechi and Obi think they can fix the country in four years, let them try. We have had presidents occupy that office for 8 years and achieved little.

It is my view that until we get our elections right, there will hardly be any meaningful progress. There also won't be accountability in government.

PoliticsRe: Ndidi Edeoghon Disputes Tinubu's Claim Of "No Corruption In Nigeria" With Data by BondRiv: 1:24pm On Aug 30, 2025
A blanket statement like that coming from the president is laughable. Let us be real please. We know our problems in this country.

How is that question relevant to this discussion?
He asked you a simple question, "Do you live in Nigeria?" It says a lot that you can't answer it.

We are literally discussing power supply in Nigeria. It is very relevant, if you are attesting to an improvement too. Sycophancy is a bad thing.
PoliticsRe: Mixed Fortunes As Power Supply Improves by BondRiv: 1:07pm On Aug 30, 2025
Reports like this are why the press has lost its reputation. So when The Punch does an editorial no one pays attention.

It is barely an improvement and not constant. Can we stop glorifying mediocrity? Anyway, the verdict will be out in 2027 after four years.

"If I don't give you constant electricity in the next four years, don't vote for me again for a second term."

A promise made is a promise kept. If I don't keep to the promise, when I come for a second time, don't vote for me."

This a deliberate distortion of fact and a shameful disinformation. This is the exact words of Bush: 'I believe when it's all said and done, free nations will not allow the United Nations to fade into history as an ineffective, irrelevant debating society'

Foreign AffairsRe: Most Of Trump's Global Tariffs Are Illegal - US Federal Appeals Court Rules by BondRiv: 11:55am On Aug 30, 2025
What is the difference between what has been happening under Trump in the U.S. and those countries the U.S. illegally invaded to give them "democracy"?

Look at his recent attack on Lisa Cook, a governor of the Federal Reserve Board in order to install his preferred candidate. His call to Abbott to redraw maps, deploying national guards all over the place. Trump is running the U.S. like a dictator. The USA is a scam sold to the rest of the world.

Foreign AffairsRe: US Blocks Palestinian Leader Abbas From Attending UN Meeting In New York by BondRiv:
An outrage. The UN is useless to me anyway. Nigeria should leave it. Why should the U.S. as the host politicize attendance? It is a shame. Why is Nigeria still a member of the UN? At least the U.S. has veto power. What do we have? What do we gain?

The U.S. government has a history of treating the UN with disdain. George Bush called it a debating society. John Bolton said, "There is no such thing as the United Nations. The Secretariat Building in New York has 38 stories. If you lost ten stories today, it wouldn't make a bit of difference."

PoliticsRe: 2027: Jonathan Can’t Unseat Tinubu – APC by BondRiv: 10:37pm On Aug 29, 2025
Are you guys still campaigning? You have successfully grabbed political power, so why can't you just do the job? Getting power is one thing, knowing what to do with it is another. If you are struggling and overwhelmed, leave the office.

I have noticed most of these ramblings, excuses and defence of the senseless stuff churned out of this administration are usually from the Lagos State chapter of the APC.

The job of unseating an elected official is that of the majority of Nigerians. With the continuous poor performance of this administration, it wouldn't be a hard decision in a free and fair election. The recent fruit from the stable of the so-called renewed hope agenda is a hike in passport fees.

If you have an issue with the police tomorrow and in need of legal representation, you'll start searching for a lawyer. Yet you can't even spell "bail" but you're insulting a lawyer.

Yes, he sued a public servant. What's the problem with that? If you can't take criticisms, don't aspire for public office. Lawyers are a different stock. Take your "whole governor" elsewhere.
PoliticsRe: Aisha Yesufu Asks Deji Adeyanju For Fraud Evidence On Obi by BondRiv: 8:03pm On Aug 29, 2025
He can choose to but doesn't owe it to you. This lady is an influencer for Peter Obi and nothing more.

Do your own research and support the candidate of your choice. If we must have a democratic nation, citizens must be able to do their own research on aspirants for public offices and come to a reasonable conclusion.

What I know is that Obi's mediocre performance in Anambra State as a governor is not something anyone should be celebrating and trying to replicate at the federal level.

As for integrity, he has shown he lacks it. A simple search on the internet will reveal this.

They should also do the same thing in port Harcourt,
Despite being more populous and having more land in Port Harcourt LGA, the Okrika people only have 4 wards, while the Ikwerre have 16,
This injustice was done to the Okrika people by a kalabari man named dagogo jack with Ikwerre mother.

That's why we have never produced an LGA Chiarman or Federal House of representatives member out of the two Ph federal constituencies.
I don't know if I should call it your misguided hate or obsession with the Ikwerre people, but haven't you noticed it hasn't done anything good for your life?

So a Kalabari man called Dagogo Jack did you this injustice which you claimed but your emphasis is on his "Ikwerre mother"? What does she have to do with anything? You are not yet ready to solve your so-called problem.

Apc and tinubu would have Crush this enemy totally.
All great leaders since Moses have known that a feared enemy must be crushed completely. (Sometimes they have learned this the hard way.) If one ember is left alight, no matter how dimly it smolders, a fire will eventually break out. More is lost through stopping halfway than through total annihilation: The enemy will recover, and will seek revenge. Crush him, not only in body but in spirit.

This is going to be the right time to do that in 2027
To what end? According to Ore Ogunbiyi (The Economist’s Africa correspondent), "90 million people in Nigeria don't have access to electricity. Nigeria has more people without electricity than any other country."

What has your great leader done to address that? What exactly is the purpose of grabbing power and doing nothing with it? Can you prevail on him to "crush" the economy, end the terrorism ravaging the North and suppress the insecurity in other parts of the country? That will be welcomed.

"When people show you that they are more concerned with keeping the job, than doing the job, you know that they are not worthy of public service."
