Tragedy struck at Imo Community of Oru West Local government Area after a 17-year-old boy identified as Dominic Adiele of Uzi-Ezike kindred Umuzu in Eziama-Ubulu was allegedly beaten up by his uncle, the wife and six children on Sunday, 27th May 2018 leading to his death at an undisclosed Hospital in Ihiala Anambra State on the 28th May 2018.

According to reports, the incident happened following arguments over possessions in the shared compound.

The uncle's name was given as Patrick Adiele, his wife's: Theresa Adiele, and their eldest male child: Somkelee Adiele.

Information gathered has it that the Adiele's have fought for years over ancestral inheritances; and that Dominic's father, Odinma Adiele, was allegedly killed in similar circumstance 15 years ago by the same Patrick.

The teenager's death triggered an unpleasant reaction as his maternal relatives of Awo-idemili arrived Uziezike on the 29th May 2018 and in conjunction with the aggrieved locals - burned down the house of Patrick Adiele, and destroyed his economic trees.

Patrick, his wife and four children, including Somkelee have been arrested by the Police.

Yesterday, about 300,000 cartridges that were concealed and smuggled in trucks into Nigeria through the Benin Republic border. The cartridges were concealed in a false base of three heavy-duty trucks and had successfully gone past borders until they were intercepted at Igbogila-Ilara area of Ogun State.

The trucks were intercepted in Balogun village, near Egua in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun, by military officers attached to the 35 Artillery Brigade of 81 Division, Nigerian Army in Alamala, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

According to reports, the drivers and crew members fled, upon closer inspection, the trucks were deemed empty until the security operatives unearthed the large cache of ammunition. When they opened the metal cover, hundreds of cartons of cartridges of the 12-calibre were found concealed underneath.

The smugglers, allegedly aided by some policemen, tried to deceive security operatives to smuggle the three truckloads of arms and ammunition into the country, through the Ogun State land border.

The smugglers had declared the trucks as empty with the aim of deceiving officials of the Nigerian Customs Service at Owode-Ilaro Road in Ogun, but the officers suspected foul play and played smart on the smugglers’ team, which include some policemen in uniform.

Two suspected kidnappers were killed in a gruesome manner after they were apprehended by an angry mob some days ago. According to a Facebook user Emmanuel Akpan, the suspects were caught after allegedly kidnapping a 4-year-old child. The angry mob descended on both of them without wasting any time and stoned them to death with bricks.

Moved by compassion, the Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke gave a blind food vendor some support and whispered words of encouragement after meeting her. He could see her but she couldn't see him. According to reports, the woman identified as Grace Bassey Etim popularly known as Eka Udoh developed eye problem about a year ago.

Eka Udoh is one of the long-standing business brands in Akwa Ibom State. The business has been reportedly running for 22 years with over 180 people employed since she started.

On Sunday, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, honoured Eka Udoh with the Umbrella Show Business Icon Award, personally presented by governor Udom Emmanuel to Eka Udoh. The award came with N500, 000.

To assist Eka Udoh further, Governor Udom Emmanuel announced the sum of N1.5m and also mandated his personal physician and the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, to swing into action and make recommendations on what should be done to restore Eka Udoh's sight as soon as possible.

The Lagos State Police Command notes with regret the unfortunate burning of a police patrol van stationed at a black spot in Ibeshe, Ipakodo area of Ikorodu, Lagos state by irate motorcyclists popularly called okada riders, today, 30/05/2018, at about 10.45am..

The incident was occasioned by an encounter between policemen manning the black spot and an okada man plying the routes way beyond Lagos state approved time of 10pm.

As he approached the police pin down point, the police team observed that he was carrying a passenger with a big bag placed between him and the rider and so they flagged him down but instead of obeying the police hand signal, the okada man increased his speed in order to evade police scrutiny. Sadly, he ended up in a ditch and passed on. Meanwhile his associate with the suspicious bag vanished into the thin air.

However, today, 30/05/18, at about 10am, Okada riders sympathetic to their late colleague, mobilised in their thousands and attempted to burn the Ibeshe Police Post. They were resisted. So they moved and found a softer target which was a police van stationed at a known black spot in Ibeshe and set it ablaze.

In view of this incident, the police authorities in Lagos state wishes to warn all those with the penchant to burn, destroy or loot its property/armoury, that henceforth the Command will be compelled to use all lawful means including the use of firearms to protect such properties and defend its personnel.The police in Lagos will no longer standby and watch hoodlums destroy government property worth millions of Naira for whatever reason.

Any group of persons with complaints against the police action, must toe the civilised option of registering their complaints with the police authorities for appropriate action.

The CP Lagos has directed that the sixty three okada riders arrested for burning the police vehicle should be charge to court for arson. He has also directed the OC Legal to file a motion to a court of competent jurisdiction to surcharge the suspects for the purchase of another police patrol vehicle.

A man identified as Bello Musa has died after being involved in an unfortunate accident yesterday night in Gombe state. According to reports, the man was said to be returning home after night prayers at the mosque before having an accident which claimed his life.

The accident was reportedly caused by a raging flood after a heavy downpour as the deceased was said to have been stuck in the water for about three hours.

The flood later carried his vehicle away and was dumped in a canal before residents tried to save him but it was too late.

He will be laid to rest according to Islamic rites. May his soul rest in peace..

Some days ago, it was reported how a jealous uncle bathed his niece and her lover with acid in Anambra state for ending their sexual relationship. The suspect was today transferred from the police station In Neni to CDS Awka, the state capital.

It was gathered that the suspect identified as Mr, Samuel Chikwelu from Odidiama vllage Agulu, attacked one Mr. Chinedu Anagor from Amaezike village Agulu while carrying his lover, Miss Chinyere Okeke and her kid (out of wedlock ) on his motorcycle.

While they were on their way home, the suspect quickly poured acid on them which affected the three persons on the motorcycle.

Unfortunately for the supposed attacker Mr Samuel Onyekwelu, he left his motorcycle which he packed by the gutter and ran away after pouring the acid on the victims.

Few minutes after of the incident, the youths of Amaezike village stormed Odidama village while carrying the motorcycle of Mr Samuel. They met with the Chief Security of Agulu Mr. Jideofor Ifebueme who promptly mobilized his boys to ensure the arrest of Mr. Samuel for his evil act.

During the investigation, it was gathered that the cause of the attack, was because Mr. Samuel was in relationship with his niece, Miss Chinyere Okeke (Mr. Samuel is the brother to Chinyere’s father).

Along the line, Mr Chinedu Anagor fell in love with her and had planned to seek her hand in marriage by June 2018. Mr. Samuel objected simply because of the alleged abomination he often commits with Chinyere.

It was gathered that sometimes last year 2017, spiritual cleansing (Ikpu Alu)was performed as regard to the sexual relationship between Mr. Samuel and Miss Chinyere. The abomination was reported to have continued till when Chinedu Anagor ”snatched” her from Samuel which made perpetrate the evil act.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos zonal office, has arrested three suspected Internet fraudsters for conspiracy and possession of fraudulent documents. The suspects-Sylvester Osolase, 30; Seyi Ajayi, 36 and Monday Mayaki, 37 were arrested on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at River View Estate, Isheri North, Lagos State, following intelligence report received by the Commission about their activities.

The suspects, who were dealing in romance and classified scams, confessed to have defrauded several unsuspecting victims around the world.

They also confessed to have used proceeds of their illicit deals to buy cars, paid their rents and travel around the world.

Items found on the suspects include laptops, cars, mobile phones and incriminating documents that were printed from their emails.

The suspects will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Officials of Real Madrid Football Club and Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday performed the historic foundation laying ceremony for the Real Madrid Football Academy in Port Harcourt, initiated by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

The foundation laying ceremony which took place at the preccints of Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt, attracted the President of Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Mr Amaju Pinnick, President of International Sports Press Association, Gianni Merlo, President, International Sports Press Association Africa, Mitchell Obi, International Sports Writers, Ex-internationals and top officials of Real Madrid Football Club.

Laying the foundation for the Real Madrid Football Academy, President of CAF, Ahmad Ahmad said the academy is not only for Port Harcourt or Nigeria, but for the entire continent.

He said that the Real Madrid Football Academy will promote international football best practices in the continent as well as raise future stars.

Ahmad noted that the timing of the construction of the academy is a proof that it was ordained by God.

Initiator of the Real Madrid Football Academy and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike who spoke at an an international press conference and during the foundation laying ceremony, said that the academy will help in building a new crop of International stars across the country.

He said that the Real Madrid Football Academy will be open to all kids, but with special preference to Rivers Children, whose resources will fund the project.

Governor Wike said that the project will be completed in seven months and commissioned for use by members of the public. He said children to be admitted into the school will be between 8 to 16years.

In his remarks, President of International Sports Press Association, Mr Gianni Merlo said Real Madrid as the best club in the world will develop a new set of stars from the Academy in Rivers State.

President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinick said that with the Real Madrid Football Academy, Nigeria will ensure the emergence of another generation that will keep the nation's flag flying in the international football circle.

Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Mr Boma Iyaye said that with the establishment of the Real Madrid Football Academy, Governor Wike has shown unprecedented love for soccer.

He said the academy will contain a club house, classrooms, conference centre, training pitches and 1000 capacity spectator stand among other facilities.

A Facebook user from Benue State by the moniker, 'Kuhe Alberts Hemennsse Doc' - has been arrested in Makurdi due to falsehood and criminal defamation of character. Earlier today, Kuhe had written a fictitious story on his Facebook wall under the title, "Wan Torkwas Alaaga, Tell Gov Ortom that engine oil boy died yesterday " alleging that the governor's convoy on Sunday knocked down one Aondohemba Ioryisa who later died due to internal bleeding.

But this story was false.

According to reports, Kuhe was said to be talking of one Agidi, an indigene of Mbabegha, Nzorov, Nongov, Guma Local government who was knocked down by an unidentified white SUV in Makurdi and sought the governor's help for medical assistance, where the governor directed that he should be taken care of. This particular young man is not dead and is pictured below with a bandage.

Kuhe was arrested by the police today and is at the moment under interrogation before he will be charged to court.

Kuhe who knelt down and begged for misinformation, revealed that he picked the story at a barber shop in Makurdi where he had gone to have a haircut.

A disappointed man has taken to Facebook to share the shocking thing he saw today in front of a police station in Benin city, Edo state capital. Emmanuel Agbogun berated officers at the state police command after sharing pictures of a man who was spotted laying helplessly on the ground in front of the station as police officers passed by without appearing to notice him or help him.

My Edo people how else do we want our Leaders/government and its security institutions to show to us that they have failed in there primary responsibility to the Nigeria state.......I found this man laying down helplessly before the Edo state police command and I noticed no single police officer considered to attend to him! Resident of Jattu Uzairue Etsako West local government area of Edo State - are thanking their stars after escaping what would have been a terrible mishap after a heavy rainfall early this morning by 3am. According to reports, a mast belonging to Globacom telecommunication network fell after the downpour and landed on residential houses in the area - destroying many properties in the process.

According to reports, no death was recorded in the mishap.

A mother, Mrs Olaore Yetunde, a resident of Adetoro Adelaja street, Magodo, Lagos, on May 24, 2018, put her 2-year-old son in harms way by leaving him alone in the car while she dashed into her apartment situate in the aforementioned address to pick up an item.

According to the findings of the police team that visited the scene, Mrs Olaore drove her Hyundai 4-wheel-drive SUV with registration number AAA 507 DE into her compound at Adetoro Adelaja street, Magodo. She left her son in the car and hurriedly went inside her apartment to pick up an item without properly bringing the car to a halt with the handbrake.
The result was that before she could come back to the car, it had drifted out through one side of the gate that was left open after she drove inside. The car further drifted across the road and slide off the main road into a 20 feet gully with the bottom of the car facing up after it somersaulted severally.

The infant who sustained injuries in the head and the arm was rescued by the Command Rapid Response Squad patrol team stationed near the scene of incident.

The child was instantly rushed to an undisclosed hospital for a first aid from where he was referred to another hospital in Ikeja for a comprehensive treatment.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Imohimi Edgal advised parents to draw lessons from the unfortunate incident and never leave their little children all by themselves in their cars. The CP reiterated that negligent parents would be prosecuted in accordance with relevant laws.
