According to TheWill, Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor, Mr. Nsima Ekere has resigned from office with immediate effect. TheWill said Ekere tendered his resignation letter this morning after he was tipped of an advanced plot to begin impeachment proceedings against him on Thursday, following heightened tension between himself and Governor Godswill Akpabio over his governorship ambition in 2015.

Political analysts in Akwa Ibom say Akpabio is backing his current SSG as his successor in 2015. TheWill exclusively obtained the deputy governor's resignation letter. See it after the cut..
