European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Kanu Approaching 50 - Avram Grant by Borat1: 8:12pm On Mar 23, 2010 |
shadrach77: PORTSMOUTH boss, Avram Grant, has said that Super Eagles skipper, Nwankwo Kanu would continue to play football until he attains the age of 51.
Grant stated this after Kanu inspired Portsmouth to victory over Hull City by scoring the third goal to seal a 3-2 win last Saturday at the Fratton Park.
He hailed the Nigerian international insisting that he would be of help for the Super Eagles at the World Cup in South Africa.
"I think he will play until he is 51. That is in two years," Grant joked about Kanu's age. He said: "You see Kanu, he is not running as fast as before and he is not in the physical condition of before.
"He's not young any more. But he is clever.
"His movement for his goal was unbelievable, he was at the right place at the right time.
The Atlanta ’96 Olympics gold medallist came off the bench on Saturday to swoop for the winner.
With the World Cup just three months away, the coach of the Premier League side says Kanu can play for two more years.
The goal is Kanu's second for the season in the English Premier League for Portsmouth. He was part of Nigeria's team to the last Africa Nations Cup held in Angola where he played limited role.
He is however, expected to lead the Super Eagles to the World Cup in South Africa despite growing criticism by a section of Nigerian fans who are calling for his exclusion from the team. http://www.tribune.com.ng/index.php/sports/2972-kanu-ll-play-until-hes-51-in-two-years--grant-.html Dayum! deb: Your opinion sir. An average football follower knows that Taiwo is a power shooter and that was what he did deliberately sailing the ball into the net. If it was Messi that scored that you won't call it a FLUKE. learn to appreciate your own. He scored a fantastic goal, d ball entered the net. simple! story story he really didnt give me much to appreciate about during the ANC did he? |
Politics › Re: Tunde Bakare Blasts Obasanjo, Babangida by Borat1: 2:06pm On Mar 23, 2010 |
~Bluetooth: @borat---his involvement in politics is not a new thing afterall pastor chris okotie did the same thing and form fresh party which never make any different even though he prophesized himself as president of nigeria.pastors just like traditional leaders are to serve as checks and balances tools for our notorious politicians Dont get me wrong, 'pastor' Tunde Bakare is ALWAYS involved in DESTRUCTIVE CRITICISMSThat does not lead anywhere, especially in a country like nigeria |

MELAA: If you don't know what to say u just shut your own mouth up and allow people that would talk. Martins lurther that the world(blacks) will ever be celebrated for speaking out courageously without the fear or any person. Bakare is not Martin Luther Aks: @ BORAT--- from your harsh and absurd response, i can categorically say you are a NOVICE on the happenings in the country. By the way, are u a NIGERIAN? 77ken: Guy u no well if everybody shut up like u, Nigeria go turn cess pit. So Shut and let d man be. ~Bluetooth: imo,i think religion leaders ought to be moderators by preaching against bad governance using the word of God as a guidance which give them added knowledge than ordinary people but when they become personal and selective in their moderating roles, then it doesnt speak well of them.they should preach peace and not war Dont Get Me Wrong, Bakare is overtly involved in politics and he's too controversialLast time i checked, He was supposed to be a phucking pastor! |
