CaptainAyub:
You are the low IQ person here.
Opportunity comes but once.
Intelligent ppl work terribly hard in their youthful days, and relax in your later days. Some may decide to retire at 45 sef after working hard in their earlier days.
Na your type go use your first salary go marry cos you want "steady fork"
Na immediate gratification na im de kill una wey be Africans hence you see a man working like donkey in his 70s because he was always "having time for himself" in his youthful days.
If your idea of working terribly hard is working for a wealthy man, I can assure you you won’t retire by 45 and the rich man can wake one day and sack you with no reason, they do that a lot and guess what? You’re already used to that flamboyant lifestyle without actually having a savings for yourself and that is when reality will dawn on you.

Yes, I was earning 400k but prior to meeting the wealthy woman, I was averaging in some substantial money and I had the time to rest, sleep, go on vacation, plan my life and also plan my brand.

The moment I started working with that woman as a strategist, my whole life was paused.

You will be faced with connections you can’t have
You will be exposed to money you might never touch

Advice: if you have the opportunity to work with a wealthy person, learn while working, resign creatively but keep contact with the rich man as a fellow wealthy man.

Guess what? I will be sending a RAM to my 2020 client as Christmas gift this year and guess what? That will upgrade me from Ex-staff to fellow business man and I promise when we will be meeting, I will be going with my cleanest ride.

But HEY, If yoh stay as a worker, you will be used till you retire at 60 with no pension fund

Well, you have mentioned something significant "run my personal company".
Apart from that,hmmm.
The person no de rest?
Cos if he's resting, you can be resting too.
Besides you apparently do not do domestic work for him also so you could also rest when the domestic staff take over.
Well,to each,his own.
You won’t understand brother, But you will understand someday

I will rather invest such time into my own personal life and business

CaptainAyub:
Lol.
You said "have time for myself" not that the job was extremely exhausting.
Those are 2 different things.
Apparently you be softie, cos na ppl de stand for their feet de shout 'oshodi oo,oshodi oo' grin from 5:30am to 11pm,tomorrow dem go start again grin
I summarised everything, money is not everything, peace of mind is key also.

I worked with the person for over 6 months and mine really had no closing time, I was basically wherever the person is even if it means travelling and most of the travelling were impromptu, I could finally have a time to sleep and within 4mins a call would come in “meet us at the airport in 30mins, we are going to Benin”

My free time which was mostly small was always used to finalise works done on outings, it’s something you can’t understand until you finally do such job.

Your time become their time and the pay ain’t even equal to the job even though it was around 400k then but I wasn’t really able to do another job even wasn’t able to run my own personal company then.

No work schedule
No time frame.

What do you need time for yourself for?
Na that quest for immediate gratification de make ppl poor and ppl like you always blame others for their predicament when the consequences of their actions start manifesting.
With this yarn,I'm sure you're not Igbo grin
So far good money is coming,I'd rather not have time for myself and maybe retire early at 50 than loaf around in the name having time for myself.
That’s your choice, if I die at work
Life will move on and the client will hire someone else.

I wish there is a better way to present this.

Have you ever worked or currently working under a super rich man/woman? a celebrity a high class politician? please share your experience with them.

Based on my own experience with my former boss(A billionaire businessman), the rich live like any other people out there, nothing so special. They have their own 'common' problems too. they also quarrel over petty things as well.

PROS: My former boss was very good to me. He took me as his own brother. We used to attend events together. I mean, super private events in places like ikoyi and banana island.
Imagine the thought that'll be running through your mind when you know that you don't actually belong to a gathering.
(flamboyant life at ikoyi in the day, your own reality by evening, a rented apartment in Ogba).

CONS: While I was with him, I didn't have my time to myself.
The cons was the reason why I stopped working with my super rich client in 2020,

I was always on flight 24/7, high events from abuja, lagos, benin and co, always on job and apart from the money I was earning, she was the one paying for all the expenses since I was mostly with her.

I resigned because I wasn’t having time to myself , I was being wasted grin

Before kashamu death, I worked at his western lotto brand back then in 2016 and man owed me over 3 months salary, he didn’t pay me throughout my work with him

jedisco:
A while ago, Nigeria went borrowing via eurobonds issued between 6-9%...while this was expectedly oversubscribed, and some reasoned that this showed confidence in the market, I can't help but wonder why the rates are that high... The holders of this monies borrowed would have been forced to pay interest to banks if it sat idle in their home nations

Today, over 20% of all dollars in circulation was printed over the last 2 years and more is set to be printed out of thin air. The system is aflush with funds looking for who to lend it to... I remember stating a while back that they US and EU can afford to do that vos they know smaller nations will come begging. Already, that is happening.... Wouldn't be surprised that if the FG may need to organise free crude swaps in future to pay off these debts....

I cannot understand how an individual in the west will walk up to his bank, borrow hundreds of thousands of forex at rates well below 3% to buy a house appreciating at upto 10% per annum, yet a sovereign nation is happy to borrow such forex at 8%. Nigeria is practically giving Western lenders free cash..

This is the way I see the macro picture- an American sits in his house, prints paper outta thin air, a Nigerian goes cap in hand begging for such paper money at the expense of his natural resources and his fellow citizens are happy at being afforded such paper at cutthroat rates

Is it that the monetary system is rigged against poorer nations or poorer nations don't just understand it??
Bro, it is low self esteem, why do you think these currencies are stronger against our currency’s? Because our leaders won’t stop borrowing

CBN Printing money to finance the economy = inflation
Nigeria government borrowing money from a government printing money (free money) is = more resources on the lender part and debt from money on our part.

1)Clamp down on corruption: these parastatals in Nigeria are definitely making MOREEEEE than they remit to the government, it’s like the government is doing Charity both home and abroad, you build infrastructures and the staffs and directors in charge are the ones feeding favt on government infrastructure.

Make sure every penny being made at each parastatals in Nigeria is being remitted to the government’s coffer.

2) make sure the money earned ain’t LOOTED by the Ogas in charge of the government purse.

3) Discourage Importation and encourage Exportation, the load on dollar is too much and it is already looking like Dollar is the main currency while Naira is useless.

The government should be intentional, the government should focus the first batch of infrastructural development on making sure Nigeria is Safe for Foreigners to set up their business in Nigeria
a) the government should target the top 10 things being imported.
b) the government should cut a deal with the top companies abroad in charge of these and let come to Nigeria to set up a branch in Nigeria, that way, Nigerians will have to buy from these guys right here in Nigeria and these foreigners can easily bring in their product by exchanging the Naira earned with their Currency, or.
C) the Naira earned can be used to source the raw material needed for their brand in Nigeria, or something they can buy in Nigeria and sell in their country.

4) Encourage Exportation, this is where GROW Nigeria comes in, encourage Nigerians to set up companies and use the products that can be gotten in Nigeria to produce made in Nigeria and the government should also cut some slacks on them via lenient policies and to cut back on EFCC, police harassment.

Many more things I can’t list here.

The government can also create an agricultural reserve for livestock and plant products, prisoners are cheap labours , the government should build standard apartments on forest reserves and let the prisoners scattered all across the country to be farm workers there (free labours)
Then the government in then train those prisoners in agriculture and also pay them something monthly from the money made from the farm.

This is not a rocket science, i just listed something that can practically applicable.

This will reduce load on dollar and crude oil

Let’s say I paid N5.4M for the land and then few months later they are running a 50% promo.

grin
One of them is currently marketing their estate here on nairaland for 5.4m a plot. Land is currently selling for about 600k in that place. The estate is at mile 2- rounder side.
A land inside the forest at Shiun is also being marketed as mowe/ofada. One fine celebrity is their ambassador. I’m sure she hasn’t been there.
They’re the ones preventing development in that axis, how long will it take them to sold out 5.4M per plot lands?? Lands wey no suppose pass 600k

Even if they’re selling at that rate, what are the amenities available there? Constant electricity? Tarred road from the estate to main roads? Constant water? Drainage system? No! Just pure land with nothing but outrageous price.

I respect what onward corporation estate did in Abeokuta, they bought hectares of land in a deep forest, they did road from the nearest road to the estate and they also tapped electricity directly from the main power plant ensuring at least 15hrs electricity per day and they sold the land out on mortgage to the teachers in the corporation.

Development went up immediately and that forest turned into a town with other communities springing up around them now.

If other estates are serious about development, we won’t have problem but NO! buy land, fence, sell at outrageous price, abandon

Government can't regulate any sector that's of great benefit to them.

Let me tell you the Tricks these guys use in Luring people.

They use Ogun state... Oyo... Ondo... Ilorin respectively.

All these States that I've mentioned have a large number of Farmlands that are way too cheap.. In Ogun state... An Acre goes for 300k-500k..Oyo is 70k-200k for an acre same with other states.

So these Real Estate owners make use of that Opportunity and buy a large number of acres at a reduced price(If you are buying more than 50...the price will be reduced).

Once they purchase those lands.. They'll erect a Wonderful and Attractive gate cheesy cheesy cheesy...

When they're done... They sell a plot for 3-5m

.

The business is very lucrative ooo. cheesy cheesy cheesy

Just have sweet mouth... A Nice Media Team

You don hammer cheesy
Exactly and they lure people by saying “the price will be appreciating by over 100% in 6 months”

Hence people rush in to buy with the hope to sell at 100% ! Means, most people buying are not looking to build or erect or structure but just to also make gains.

I follow some estates pages and I keep seeing “appreciating by 50% in october, buy now” and I wonder, why is it increasing? Any new development? Are people building? Is there any industry around? No! Just the developers creating artificial inflation.

Everybody na crook

Lekki should be the HQ

Buy 5 plots and get one for Free cheesy
Lekki is still even better, at least lekki is developing

The vacant lands all in the name of estates in Abeokuta is too much! Yet you will hardy see any sign of development or people building in the massive gated lands called Estates.

Adrons home is all over Abeokuta but I can tell you most of the estates are empty.

What about sweet estates? Sweet estates spoilt lands for people in mawuko area of Abeokuta, man bought lands all over mawuko (over 500 acres) and left it undeveloped now the majority of mawuko is loooking like a forest because a single company bought in excess but refused to develop.

Several other estates like that, I believe Government should regulate them and give them timeframe to make sure lands become developed

but underdeveloped estates

Sometimes, I do have a feeling all these estates are fronts for money laundering, they kept buying lands in HECTARES, Build gigantic FENCE and gate house, sign celebrities as ambassadors and before you know it, the CEOs have started driving Gwagon and lexus 570 with them receiving numerous accolades and awards but guess what?

The estates are mostly empty! We have several of such hyped estates in ogun state with no development happening in the estates for years apart from the Gate house, drainage and fence done.
