They might see it as something that has to do with their personal selves but it is better we curb an act that will later degenerate into something we will not be able to handle eventually, instead of toying with same.
Let me break it down here:
every human or child has the tendency of choosing the bad way over the good way upon the fact that our mind is designed to have the ability to know the right thing from the wrong thing (ethics) but from inception of man, it has been always that we find it more convenient to choose the bad way over the good one, probably due to the excuse of comfort, pleasure, lustfulness, curiosity and the likes. We have common sense, we know what is ideal and genuine, we know what can add value to human’s existence yet in most cases, we choose self-satisfaction over core values.
To me, I share the fact that when an act is considered barbaric or immoral within a society that existed before you and you are coming up with an idea that is contradictory, the most important thing you need to first consider or sell is the value of your new idea and not your selfish adventure / pleasure. At least, a new idea must be able to convincingly add worth to your own self and the rest of the society; that is when I consider an idea innovative and worthwhile. Not the one that will be all about ‘YOU and YOU’, ‘YOU and YOUR SELF’, ‘YOU and YOUR PLEASURE’. Its quite sick! Its your life tho but its also selfish! An idea to me can be dropped if it is selfish in nature. Afterall, it is illegal for now, not until it is proven crime-free.
Now, let me relate the genesis of Homosexuality the way I understand it vis-a-vis my personal experience:
When I was at the age of 14/15, there about, I was playing football (Juvenile Soccer Academy). There was this particular team mate (name withheld) of mine that had this feminine nature kind of, not physical feature tho. It was just natural. He was tender hearted, he was never upset with any issue even when others were furious, he was skilful, he was fragile, he laughed to almost every issue either funny or tensed, he was kind-hearted and kind indeed, he was soft, he had this ‘butty’ look but has a very humble background, he was feminine in nature except his physical appearance that looked like a trained soldier/footballer.
All these features attracted me to him but obliviously. I had this brief fantasy / feelings for him; I was attracted to him sort of. Mw, as at that time, all I knew about sexx or sexual orientation was just the curiosity of going to store to check out the bigger dick! That child’s play kind of. Then, I had had unattached sexx with a neighbour (a girl, almost my age out of her own curiosity of what she used to see her elder cousin doing with a guy), it was nothing tho. It didn’t have anything to do with the feelings I had for the guy because it was not around the same time and moreso, the sexx didn’t come to mind at any point in time. it was casual, passive and immature, so I couldn’t have seen it as a pusher. It was a child’s play and nothing close to the real sexual feelings, I was not sexually activated, so I couldn’t have had sexual feelings for the guy (my team mate).
Sincerely, I did not know or ever even thought that it was a special feelings I had for him then not until when I was growing up and started hearing some stories about how some folks banged themselves sort of (after a lot of years). I still didn’t have sexual feelings for him when I adequately understand the meaning of Gay, even though I always missed him and wished to see him anytime I remember the feelings I had for him then. Funny me, when I grew up to understand or remembers the story of Solomon that loved a man as described by the Bible, ‘like a woman’, I used to laugh and consider the feelings I had for the guy as a representation of Solomon’s Gayish Life (haha!)
Upon all the feelings I was experiencing then, I never for one day discuss it with the guy nor show it (meanwhile, he might be feeling the same way about me in silence as well because we were very close). Any form of relationship (other than friendship) or intercourse with him wouldn’t have been possible because I did not even have an idea of its possibility (me wey never even date a girl much more a boy like me). Gay was not on the street of Nigeria then but go to secondary schools now and ask them the meaning of gay, you will be amused/amazed with their analysis on GLBT. Personally, I got to know or have a clearer picture of GLBT recently, (can u imagine?) now that is getting crazy and more popular within our society.
The story I’m sharing here is the greatest soft pulse I have for GLBT community (as claimed) because I understand obviously what it means to be attracted to a same-sex person. Just like the way you will put your mind off it, if you fall in love or feel sexually attracted to your blood sister, your cousin or even your daughter, is the same approach, if you fall in love with a same sex person. All these feelings are natural for one reason or the other but mind you, the exact way you controlled yourself against incest is the same way you do for homo feelings as it is also condemned in our society. After all, it has not been proven that it is genetic in nature. BroS, you just need to try hard to let go!
Let me now point out some vitals in my story (my fantasied gay partner);
1. that, assuming that I was carelessly trained and exposed to immoral sexual life, I had a great tendency of taking a bold step towards expressing my feelings to him and he too, being a juvenile would have taken it as one of those playful funs just like the way I conceded to the other girl, my first sex-mate. Who knows, may be a relationship would have sprung up between us but thank God for good home training and upbringing I now cherish.
2. that, relatively, if Gay was popular as at that time (referring to early 90’s) in our society just like now or more in the future, may be that singular feelings would have put me in a curious list, and I would have felt like checking out the feelings, the fun of dating a same sex and or even having sexual intercourse with a fellow guy. From kissing to smooching and other things follow.
3. that, I would have grown up with it and assume that there is one gene that is responsible for the feelings I had for the guy.
It is natural though but growing up as a kid and even as a grown up man, you have a tendency to being exposed to different kinds of natures, habits, attitudes, characters or addictions. All these attributes are natural and environmental acquisitions that develop with us and blend with our life styles as we grow up.
Rest assured that the aforementioned attributes are the feelings Homos also have and go a step further by assuming or consciously claiming to be a nature that must be welcome into the system that forbids it (Don’t ask me why it is forbade, it is immoral and illegal – check the meaning of illegal). And also seeking the empathy of some vacillating individuals to contradict the norms of the same society they belong to.
Conclusively, Im not desperate to involve you or register you in my school of thought rather trying to let you know that Homosexuality is not a genetic sexual orientation but a natural feelings that can be nurtured or ignored. Yes, it can be ignored if you have the strong will and found it unnecessary. It is not genetic until some people make it so and that’s what we are actually trying to guide against.
Generally, if you can ignore it for the sake of its irrelevance to you and the society you belong to, fine for you but in the contrary, I advise it is wise to do what will make you to be conveniently acceptable in the society you belong to, my point of view!

Took all our money to build private university in Ghana while the state owned university was in comatose...Sponsored Mr. Buhari's presidential campaign from part of the loot and with that he got the ministerial appointment where he has been nothing short of monumental disappointment.

As against Fayose that is faced with dwindling resources coupled with monthly deduction to pay back the loan Fayemi took..Several roads constructed, built state of the art governor's office, Befitting high court complex for the Judiciary and a master piece of 1.9km overhead bridge, ultra modern market in the state capital and many more....All this without borrowing kobo...
And yes he is owing salaries and he already made a commitment that he will try and pay up before his tenure ends...Even Bayelsa, Delta,Akwa Ibom been oil producing states are owing salaries...So it is never a crime for just about the poorest state in Nigeria to owe salaries which the governor has promised to pay up in any case.

That brings me to the evil economics of this satanic "regime" where they have borrowed 11 trillion naira in just over 3 years of their inglorious reign as against the 6 trillion naira that PDP borrowed in 16 years and yet they keep shouting about one useless foreign reserve when there is absolutely nothing to show for the money they borrowed...

Fayose to many is seen as the Father of Modern Ekiti and indeed he is living up to his billing on that if anything we see in the news lately are something to rely on. However, some folks only see him as a rabble rouser, a kpomo-cutting, aimless talking Governor who is not fit to be a Governor. Fayemi is on the other side a well read and more of a foreign based, trained consultant with big institutions and who also had a shot at being a Governor of Ekiti State too. There are allegations that during Faywmi's 4 years stint as Governor, he only commissioned 3 projects while many were left unaccomplished unlike Fayose who has a spread throughout the whole of the State in his projects handiwork. This thread is meant to compare who achieved more in delivering the dividends of democracy to their people during their times as Givernors. I am throwing it open to those who are based in Ekiti and can convincingly point to us who achieve more in terms of projects delivery to the great people of Ekiti, especially those with pictorial evidences. Thank you all.

The emboldened is an example of the hypocrisy of Nigerians that drives me crazy. Many Nigerians are so delusional, they believe their society was this upstanding paragon of virtue before evil oyinbo came here to teach us bad tin. My mum recently was supporting a priest who sent out a girl in church for wearing a skirt below her knees. Yet, I remember seeing a picture of her in the 70's where she had an afro and mini-skirt and it wasn't taboo. People of the disco era were funky as hell. I also asked her what her ancestors wore before the missionaries came and she went mute. I'm Igbo and our pre-colonial ancestors barely wore clothes. Just some basic stuff around the loins and often naked breeasts. Yet, they thought themselves virtuous. Nigerians are such self-righteous hypocrites.

Again, human survival is not dependent on sexuality. If anything, the population of the planet needs to reduce, or at least stall, for the survival of the planet. Lakes and rivers are drying up. Deserts are encroaching vegetated space. Sea levels are rising. Several animal species have gone extinct. And yet, Africans continue to breed like rats. The least of my concerns is how homosexuality threatens human expansion.

I told you that studies have shown that in every population, 5 to 10% of individuals in that population are gay.
Do your research.

Secondly, sexual orientation is not an addiction that one gets "hooked to" like you said.
Because you're making it look like once a person is exposed to homosexuality or engages in homosexual behavior, the person cannot stop engaging in it again.

Firstly, sexual orientation is not just about the sex.
What makes someone a homosexual is not that he has sex with people of the same sex.
What makes a person homosexual is that he has romantic/sexual attraction towards people of the same sex.
A man can be homosexual even if he has not had sex with a man before.
So a man can be having sex with other men, but if he doesn't have any feelings of romantic attraction towards men (just as a straight man may feel towards women), then he is not a homosexual. In the same way, a man can be having sex with women all his life but if he feels no romantic attraction towards women and has feelings of romantic attraction towards men then he is a homosexual whether he has had sex with men before or not.

If you had done an in-depth study and understood this fact, then maybe you would not have made this your post/comment.

There are some men who have had sex with other with other men, maybe because of their situation, for example, people in prolonged incarceration in prison who have no access to women or people who do it just for the sake of making money from it to solve financial issues.
When these people come out of those situations, like when they get out of prison or their financial situation improves, they go back to having sex with women as they are romantically attracted to women.

There are straight men who have been raped by other men but they didn't become homosexual.
There are boys who went to all boys schools and engaged in all those sexual frivolities rampant in those schools.
Yet they still did not become homosexual.

So no matter the number of times a straight man continues to have sex with men, as long as he is actually straight, that is not what will make him gay.
No matter the number of times a gay man continues to have sex with women, as long as he is actually gay, that is not what will make him straight whether he knows that he is gay or not.

It is not man that controls the population of gay people.
It is nature that controls it.

We all care about our existence and our individuals here, I believe the reason we are trying hard to enlighten ourselves on what can save human race and protect the special ones among us.
To my understanding and reach, I think it is yet to be proven that gay is genetic in nature. The best known result from various researches so far is that sexual orientation may extend to DNA as a result of time.
If we are debating on nature, human race and society, I think values and importance should be prioritised. Priority in the sense that; what value is an invention/innovation adding to our existence and coexistence. If we consider value, then we think of the disadvantage as it concerns the importance.
I stand to learn here one importance of gay marriage as it promotes the human race or the economic value of our first society. This should bother me much before thinking of its adverse effect.
To my understanding, I think homosexuality is more of an environmental influence than the genetic or biological affiliation. I'm not here to judge anybody but of the school of thought an act that is generally unacceptable to ur first society nor add significant value to yourself is worthwhile of dropping. The only reason I will agree with any one that is attracted to same sex partner and gets desperate to live with it, is obviously selfishness, ego and probably inability to engage self control as he finds the abuse of freedom / freewill a pleasure.
It is recorded that some people have lost their lives through suicide because they were not given 'assumed' right of choice, I mean the opportunity to practise homosexuality, the act that can be easily controlled and forgotten if you really want to discipline yourself. Homosexuality to me is just a mere fantasy grown into habit and later nature.
It is even claimed that smoking as an habit can be hereditary as a matter of time as it donates some impactful chemical to the genes and can be distributed down the chain. We all know that smoking can not affecting anybody other than the person that smokes directly just like same sex marriage. You might want to argue that cigarette smoke can affect close by people but as the smoke from firewood can affect same people. Authorities try as much as possible to caution smokers but do u know what, the population and rate continue growing outrageously. Just like the way the act in question can grow. Assuming the authorities have deemed it fit to eradicate that at earlier stage, may be cigarette wouldn't have joined the list of killer habit.
Anyway, let's wait till the time it will be scientifically proven that samesex relationship can endanger human race, may be that's when it will be popular that the unnecessary act needs to.stop.

You are aware that there are people who are naturally sterile. No matter what happens, they cannot reproduce.

Nature is not stupid for doing this.

As for the instance you gave, the complexities involved in human-human love is beyond the capability of the dog.
Remember what makes sex legal or illegal is age and consent.
Sex between two consenting adults doesn't infringe on anybody's rights.
Sex with a minor is pedophilia and there are laws against pedophilia to protect minors from being taken advantage of by adults because it is believed that minors do not have the physical and psychological capabilities to deal with all the emotions and feelings that are involved in sex.

Sex without consent is rape and there are laws against rape because it protects the rights of the other person. Having sex with someone without his/her consent means you're trespassing the person's private space. And that alone is criminal.

Now, a dog cannot give consent to sex with a human being.
And you can't determine whether a dog is a minor or not with human standards. At least we know that from 18, a human can be considered an adult. At what age will you say a dog has become an adult and who determines that convention? Even if you say, a dog becomes an adult at so so age, it is you as a human that imposes that convention on dogs.
Dogs have not opened up to tell humans that they consider all dogs of a certain age to be adults.
Moreover, interspecies mating, just like incest, is frowned upon because it causes far-reaching distortions in the gene pools of the species involved.

Sex between two people of the same sex, if they are both of age and are consenting to the act, does not infringe on any body's rights.
Except they have sex in public or commit other acts of indecency in public, that's when they should be arrested.
But, last last, what two consenting adults do to their bodies, what two adults do to themselves, in the privacy of their room/house (as long as nobody's rights was trampled upon) should not be any body's business.

You don't compare it with weed smoking or other drugs of addiction that the government regulates.
This is because weed is banned simply because after smoking it, there is a tendency for a person to get high and in that state of highness, that person becomes a danger to himself and to others.
Loving someone of the same sex does not pose any danger to the persons in love or to the society.
Having sex with someone of the same sex does not pose any danger to the persons involved or to the society.
So they are not to be compared.

I joined both of u together cos of my observation, you share the same school of thought on the topic of discourse, so I don't want to duplicate my text for time's reason.
Are you also of the opinion that same-sex sexual attraction is natural or adopted habit? If natural, kindly prove with reference and state how it is scientifically or biologically proven.

Let me come from the perspective of morals first; morality is defined according to an online dictionary as an act that promotes the goodness of a society. It is also defined as the differentiation of intentions, decisions and actions between those that are distinguished as proper and those that are improper. There are some things that we can desire either naturally or lustfully that will irritate the society we belong to, the best thing you do as a right thinking person is to avoid such either publicly, or privately as much as possible even though it might not be easy but better still, let go!
There are other legal immoralities that exist but pple that indulge in them try as much as possible to be discreet about them. An example is porn watching or acting... they rate it 18 so that underage will not have access to it, it is a condemnable immoral act to the large society but larger part of the society that condemns it publicly while watch it privately. Masturbation is a similar act.
Now, do we now suggest that they legalise gaydom and quarantine the practitioners to avoid its popularity in the society and its negative effect on some softminded persons as u r claiming they MUST not be more than 5% in any population. So u both agree or accept the threat it might eventually portray if it is more popular than the normal, accepted and popular intimacy BTW a man and a woman.

If you think a woman walking on the street uncladly is showcasing immorality and you agree that she should be cordoned off, I guess you should also condemn two men or women caressing, hugging romantically or kissing each other in a public domain. Another observation of mine is that, you are both underating the unpredictable nature of man. According to study, human is not designed to be static. Rather, he is designed to grow rapidly and that is why it is concluded in the study of human science that human's want is insatiable. That is, if gaydom is given right acceptably in our society, its a matter of time, they will surpass the 5% you forecast here and brand it admiringly to be attractive to any one that gets hooked. When WE were growing up, we used to assume that wearing undies, cleavage bearing and other similar stuffs were alien to our society that can never be popular but now, see our artistes and slay queens, they display their privates freely and peep accept it, love it and hail it. We even ask for more graciously, a typical example of what gay can grow to if not disvouraged.
