Pukkah:
Well, you may have a point in coming up with the First Lady's errors especially against the backdrop that the way she presents herself to the world, through verbal and non-verbal communication, should matter to all of us.  Afterall, she is the wife of our President.

However, you also need to take some time to fix your English troubles some of which I have highlighted below:

You used 'worst' instead of 'worse'.  Also, who's 'crying' here?

You should have written 'Recently, she said on STV that Nigeria is our continent'.  You ought to have made up your mind if you wanted to use 'recently', which should have a comma after it, or 'two months ago'.  In essence, you need to bring your 'syntax' under control.

Also, it is 'suicide' and not 'sucide'.

It is 'grammar' and not 'grammer'.

Need I say that you should remember to put a full stop at the end of each sentence?

Phew! Can you see how difficult it is to string correct sentences together even for someone like you who has presumably gone through an intensive grammar class?

Please be guided accordingly.
Hey! I did not write that. That is the way they put it where I got the info. I will teach you English language!
PoliticsFirst Lady Has Done It Again! by Boyoorisha(op): 10:36am On Nov 21, 2011
Crying, now this is getting worst day by day, she’s not even improving on her errors and grammatical blunders.Recently she said Nigeria is our continent on STV, two months ago, she said she’ll rather die than commit sucide, and now she would donate her family on behalf of N20million Naira.
"I donate my family on behalf of #20,000,000. Thank you"
I think GEJ should put this woman in an intensive grammer class

Jonathan And Atiku Reconcile As Atiku Running Mate Becomes Presidential Adviser

President Jonathan and former Vice President and rival of the president for the 2011 PDP Presidential ticket,  Atiku  Abubakar, appear to be on the path toward reconciliation as President Jonathan appoints Senator Ben Obi, Mr. Atiku's running mate in the 2007 election and his Campaign
Director General during his 2011 Presidential bid as one of his Special Advisers, a cabinet level position.

Senator Obi who is a confidante of Atiku Abubakar was sworn in yesterday at about 1pm in the council chambers of the Presidential Villa as Special Adviser to the President on Inter-Party Affairs. He was sworn in along with Dr Mariam Ali, who was sworn in as Special Adviser to the President on Inter-governmental Affairs.

Others sworn in with Obi and Mayiam Ali who incidentally os wife of the garrulous and abrasive former PDP chairman under Obasanjo who lost her senatorial race to Senator Patrick Osakwe of Delta state in 2007 are Ahmed Gulak, sworn in as Political Adviser to the President and Professor Tamunopriye Agiobenebo sworn in as Adviser on Economic Matters (Vice President’s Office).

With this reconciliation move, the stage is set for Atiku Abubakar to begin to expand his influence in the present administration given that the deputy speaker, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, is a dyed in the wool Atiku man.

Given that a number of Atiku's men have found their waybinto sensitive positions in the current set up, many are of the opinion that the chances of Atiku Abubakar in the Presidential race for 2015 are brightening. This is even as the front runner for the PDP chairmanship position, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, is from Adamawa the home state of Atiku Abubakar.

All these seemingly unconnected happenings in the political arena that appear to favour Atiku Abubakar are not mere happenstances if you know and or study the personality and politics of the Turakin Adamawa.

PoliticsAmaechi’s Vow: I Won’t Leave Any Debt Behind by Boyoorisha(op): 1:10pm On Nov 01, 2011
By Johnbosco Agbakwuru, Calabar
Even though Governor Amaechi is just at the beginning of his second term in office he apparently has a view of his legacy at the end. One vow he has made is to handover a debt free treasury to his successor despite his recent recourse to debt options to sustain his works in progress.

One problem many new Governors are faced with is the high debt portfolio left behind by predecessors.

It is a phenomenon common to all three tiers of government. Although the debts which are usually in form of loans and bonds are always said to be used for the good of the people through the provision of infrastructure, it is common knowledge that most of the debts somehow can also be traced to the private accounts of many individuals who were once in government.

Politics71,135 Ghost Pensioners On Fg’s Pay Roll by Boyoorisha(op): 11:32am On Oct 27, 2011
ABUJA – The House of Representatives Committee on Pension, yesterday, heard that over 71,135 ghost pensioners were on the pay roll of Federal Government which cost the government over N28 billion annually.

The Head of Service of the Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Sali, told the committee, yesterday, that the report of the pension reform task force revealed that there were several scams going on in pension service.

He said, by last month, the payroll indicated that there were 113,089 pensioners on payroll of the office of the Head of Service of the Federation with a total monthly pension of N1,634,166,812.02 as against previous payment of N3.3 billion monthly before the report.

He said before the exercise, under-aged persons were paid pension, many names and account numbers were duplicated, many pensioners provided falsified documents for verification and that with the weeding of over 70,000 fake/ghost pensioners, “the Federal Government will make an annual saving of about N28 billion.

He said that investigation also revealed that many problems associated with the administration of pension are human-related and traceable to staff of the Pension Office in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, among others.

Chairman of the committee, Mr. Ibrahim Kamba, had described the reported cases of fraud in the Pension Office as worrisome.

These governors seem to be going gaga these days!
PoliticsRevenue Formula: Governors Propose Bill To Amend Constitution by Boyoorisha(op): 11:02am On Oct 27, 2011
LAGOS — The Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) is proposing a bill to amend the constitution that would incorporate amendments to the existing revenue sharing formula.

Governor Chibuke Amaechi, Chairman of the NGF who disclosed this in a session with journalists has also disclosed the commitment of all governors in the country to conduct local government council elections as a way of sustaining the democratic system of governance at the grassroots.

While noting ongoing anti-corruption efforts by federal anti-corruption agencies, the Rivers State Governor noted that all the efforts would amount to failure so long as federal level which controls more than half of the federation account is not brought into searchlight.

The session with Amaechi in Abuja was against the background of the fourth anniversary of his first inauguration on October 26, 2007 following the Supreme Court judgment that validated him as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP gubernatorial candidate in the April, 2007 gubernatorial election.

Asked on the agitation for a change in the present revenue formula by some governors, he said:

“We are working with the President in that regard. Currently what we have done is that we are pursuing constitution amendment. The Governors are meeting in that regard, we have met up to some point.

“We are bound to hold a second meeting and by next week or thereabout, we should hold a second meeting to conclude on all the issues and send a bill, a private member’s bill on the amendment of the constitution to the National Assembly.”

Asked on the specifics of the proposed constitution amendment, Amaechi refused to reveal but subsequently hinted at an amendment of the revenue formula.

“What we are saying is that we have a position. We will articulate that position in the next meeting we have and then come up with an amendment bill and send to the National Assembly.”

Governor Amaechi, however, disclosed the commitment of all Nigerian Governors to ensure complete implementation of democratic system of governance at the local government level. In that direction he said that all Governors had resolved to ensure that local government council elections are held in all the states of the federation.

“At the Governors Forum we have resolved that in the next few months Governors who have not conducted local government council elections should endeavour to do that and all Governors are very willing to conduct elections. Lagos has just finished their own.”

Asked on his assessment of the anti-corruption battle being waged by federal anti-corruption agencies, Governor Amaechi speaking in metaphor said:

“So, if the EFCC is serious about fighting corruption they should focus on the 52% and once they can stop corruption in the 52%, then they have passed. Even if they stop corruption in the 26%, they have not passed .”

“For EFCC to investigate 26% they have to take transport from here (Abuja) to the state they are going to, they have to book accommodation and they have to do everything possible to look for the 26% including going to London, going to Abuja looking for the 26%.”

“Now, even taxi can take them to the 52%. They abandon the 52% completely and begin to look for the 26% that is located in Rivers State, Sokoto or Lagos or Imo. You have no need to vilify the Governors. If you are serious about corruption, eliminate corruption in 100% of the economy or if you cannot, focus on the 52% because if you succeed in the 52%, what have you done? You have passed!”

“If you make 100% of the 26%, you have still not passed your exam, it is a re-sit. That is the argument. We are helpless victims of the ruling class who have always wanted to be Governors.”

PoliticsSenior Citizens Get N5,000 Each In Ekiti by Boyoorisha(op): 2:08pm On Oct 26, 2011
They were all smiles - and full of praises for a “worthy” idea.

Many indigent Ekiti senior citizens were elated by the government’s gesture as they got N5,000 each under the Social Security Scheme for the Elderly.

Governor Kayode Fayemi flagged off the scheme in Ise-Ekiti.

Fayemi lamented the level of poverty in Africa, saying in the past, the aged were taken care of by an effective social system, but civilisation has broken the bonds of kinship.

Fayemi said while it might be impossible to bring back the kinship spirit, his administration would cater for the elderly.

He said the scheme would be free of gender or political bias.

The governor said: “Civilisation has eroded the kinship system; it is now everyone to himself and God for us all.

“Consequently, people live the latter part of their lives in abject poverty, with attendant diseases, emotional breakdown and frustrating social disaffection.

“It is important for me to clarify that the payment of the N5,000 stipend to each of the registered beneficiaries that commenced today will be made regularly on the 25th of the month, when all workers are getting paid.

“All complaints of inability to register during the enumeration of the elderly shall be looked into. It is our intention to undertake a comprehensive review after the first six months of the programme.

“I assure you all that government has already put in motion the process of drafting a legislation to back this initiative and ensure its sustainability on a long term.”

Commissioner for Labour, Productivity and Human Capital Development Mrs. Olubunmi Adelugba said the programme is the first in West Africa.

She said the programme complements the ongoing free health services for the elderly in the state.

Mrs. Adelugba said any one who is 65 years and above, and had resided in the state for three years is qualified to benefit from the scheme.

A 75-year beneficiary from Isan-Ekiti, Mrs. Juliana Jegede, thanked the governor for the initiative.

Please people I need your advice on this issue: There is this girl that I was supposed to marry but did not work out. She is now married but not happily. Each time she had a fight with her hubby, she would always tell me and ask for money for upkeep. She called me again yesterday and told me about another fight, this time the hubby almost send her parking! Now he has refused to give her money as the hubby locked the draw where he keeps money for her upkeep. She has requested for another help but I am relunctant cos I would not also take that as a man. Is it right if I give her the money not for anything in return but as a help?
