jason123: This is very bigoted. So because they are "minority" (according to you),they have no rights, abi? What a shameless thing to say.He never said they have no right! He said they are too minor to dictate for Nigerian. Meaning that their votes can't make GEJ the president |
alj harem: All I am saying is that we should stop this notion of PDP can not dislodge ACN, it is false and crazy to say that. If PDP provide a better candidate like they would in the next election, they would win the SW.The problem is not about candidate! Jonathan was a good candidate but no longer a good man. The party has changed him. Even if Fashola, the man of the people, becomes the president today through PDP, he will surely fail. PDP has faiure in its 'blood' so to say |
Mind you all, the problem is not the candidate, it is the party! Even if Fashola becomes the president through PDP, he will fail. ACN got its structure right |

The Lagos State Government on Tuesday began a two- day training on news reporting for 120 officials of the Lagos State Traffic management Authority (LASTMA). The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Kayode Opeifa, declared the training open at Eko FM/ Radio Lagos Multipurpose Hall, Agindingbin. He said that the training was to ensure that the officials were conversant with news writing in preparation for the take off of Lagos Traffic Radio (LTR). Opeifa said that when the Traffic Radio commenced operations, motorists would have opportunity to have first hand information on transportation and traffic news, traffic alerts and diversions, while they drive or before leaving their homes. He said that in case of accidents, information which would enable motorists to avoid such routes would be broadcast and information on alternative routes given. The commissioner advised the officials to concentrate during the training and be of good conduct so that at the end of the training, they would be part of the pioneer staff of the station. He advised them to take the training back to the road by giving a helping hand to motorists, who were in serious need of assistance. (NAN) |
National Vice-Chairman (South-West) of Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Segun Oni, yesterday, vowed that the dominance of the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the zone would not extend beyond 2015. Oni, a former governor of Ekiti State, said if not for the internal crises that engulfed his party, ACN could not have had any chance in the zone, stressing that ACN was an interim government. Oni, who spoke in Ibadan while reconciling three main factions of the party, pleaded with the factions to forget the past and fashion out ways the party could reclaim its influence in the geo-political zone. Before meeting the feuding parties at the party’s state secretariat, he had met elders of the party at the residence of the former Attorney- General and Minister of Justice, Chief Richard Akinjide (SAN). He told them that as the party’s zonal leader, he would be happy to see a more united party where no discrimination would be allowed to fester. He said: ”The party I would like to lead is an all- inclusive one, where everybody irrespective of line of divide so far you are a PDP member, would be given voice. We are going to bring everybody back under the same umbrella to become one united family to face our future electoral challenges starting with the local government elections across the zone.” Expressing his disapproval of the leadership style of ACN, he said ACN “is in power in the interim. But, the only means of shortening their interim administration in the zone, is not to allow it go beyond 2015 and for us to come together and stand like a team”. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/04/pdp-vows-to-dislodge-acn-from-southwest/ |

The senate joint committee probing the mess in the nation's pension system was shocked to hear that Abdurasheed Maina, the man appointed by Federal Govt. to clean the stinking pension scheme placed #88 billion pension fund in a private account. The money domiciled in Fidelity bank fixed account no 5030024748 has a monthly interest of #100 million. WHO WILL SAVE THIS COUNTRY? |
Our leaders does not encourage patrotism! |
This is not in anyway acceptable! You need to see the unholy relationship they share with these drivers, they drink ogogoro and smoke indian hemp together. This is unprofessional! |
Fake report! |
The funny thing about this is that it is very difficult to accuse them of such as they can claim to be a passenger. Passenger without a destination! |
Bearly a month after the IGP directive banning checkpoints, Some police officers in Lagos now serve as senior conductor to commercial bus drivers. They go to parks in the morning with their kits waiting for commercial bus drivers to pick them, they occupy the front seat and will be with the driver all day long. By this, the driver can avoid paying tout (agbero) and LASTMA officials. This service is not for free, they pay such officers at the end of the day. What is this country turning to? |
''An eye witness, Alhaji Bako, said all the 10 persons that died were passengers’ of a Volkswagen golf car'' Can a volkswagen golf car take 10 passengers at a go? |

Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the Chairman, Petroleum Revenue Task Force, has pledged to ensure accountability and transparency in the petroleum sector in line with the mandate of the task force. Ribadu made the pledge on Tuesday in Abuja after the inauguration of the 20- member special task force by the Minister of Petroluem Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke. “We shall work diligently to meet the expectations of Nigerians; we seek to renew efforts by promoting values that support a new dawn of business conduct in the sector. “ We shall ensure that those who play by the rules enjoy all the best support and the unscrupulous players get a red card.’’ The former EFCC boss decried the lack of transparency in the petroleum sector and appealed to Nigerians to support the task force in achieving its mandate. Ribadu assured that the committee would perform and described the members as thorough breed professionals, ready to contribute to national development. Earlier, Alison-Madueke had called for recommendations that would bring reforms to the petroleum sector. “Our journey to transformation is irreversible, our mission is to transform the petroleum industry and in doing so change the way business is currently done within this sector. “Our purpose is to enhance the commercial and technical viability of the sector, inculcating full transparency and accountability and thereby ensuring value for money for the people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.’’ She gave the task force 60 working days to complete the assignment and submit its report. The terms of reference of the task force include working with consultants and experts to determine and verify all petroleum upstream and downstream revenues (taxes, royalties) due and payable to government. The task force is also expected to submit monthly reports for ministerial review and further action. The members of the task force included former Head of Service, Mr Steve Oronsanye; Malam Abba Kyari; Ms Benedicta Molokwu; Mr Supo Sasore; Mr Tony Idigbe; Mr Anthony George-Ikoli; Dr Omolara Akanji and Mr Olisa Agbakoba. Bayelsa Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Olakpe, Thursday in Yenagoa, paraded one Godswill Williams, 45 for the alleged rape of a six-year-old girl in Edepie, a suburb of the metropolis. Olakpe told journalists that the man was arrested after the mother of the girl reported the matter to the police. The commissioner said the police had concluded investigation and the man would be charged to court “next week” “We are here to parade suspects whose activities in the state, when narrated are so bizarre; even stranger than fiction. “We have with us today one Godswill Williams aged 45 who raped a six-year-old girl,” he told journalists. Mother of the victim, who was at the briefing informed that the suspect, who was their neighbour, had allegedly lured the girl to his apartment by asking her to buy him sachet water about two weeks ago. The mother, claimed that William forcefully had canal knowledge of the girl. She said the incident which occured in broad day light, was immediately reported to the police, while the girl was taken to hospital, “where she is still receiving medical attention”. The police also paraded two suspects Kingsley Wilcox and Ebipre Yenasome-Wilson said to belong to a cult group. Olakpe said, “the suspects were found in possession of a locally-made pistol and have confessed to being members of Greenlanders and Bobo confraternity.” The groups, according to him, are responsible for the death of many innocent Nigerians. “They have been wrecking havoc in the state, killing people with matchets, beheading them and even using guns.” Three suspected cocain peddlers, including a couple, Godswill Oweika and Lillian Oweika, were also paraded. The commissioner said, “We also have a drug peddler who, Iam sure, is responsible for the untoward conduct of these teenagers who are in these cults.” Olakpe disclosed that Godswill Oweika had just finished serving a two-year prison term. He assured that all the suspects would be prosecuted. (NAN) |
