kopell: @Brabus Good morning, can we have an good close short at the top of these project parapet please. Just to see the differences from your own style of casting the parapet. I noticed your's is little smaller from that of Oga Spyder any reason for that, or it just the design. Your explanation and other professionals in the house will be appreciated thank you.I'll do my best to get a close shot. I just like my parapets simple. Parapet is just one of the so many elements needed to beautify a house. It doesn't have to be overly built. Pretty soon, we will be adding characters to the build to make it beautiful. |

Final Fix Electrical Works - Conduits and Tubing Electrical conduit provides very good protection to enclosed conductors from impact, moisture, and vapor. Because wiring systems in buildings are subject to frequent changes/alterations and our building is no exception, we have decided to do a full conduit pipe installation to make changes or alterations to the electrical conductors simpler and safer whenever the need arises. Good Morning! |
daroseconcepts: What a thread. What a section. I have been following. In just five days i have learnt what i could not in my five years of studying engineering in the university. I never knew nairaland had a construction school in property section. My wife is already complaining of my sudden addiction to my tablet pc, which has been gulping megabytes, while trying to view pictures from spyder, brabus, muyesky...In five days i have been inspired to design my own house plan, using AutoCad(which i abandoned for 8 years after learning). I am making plans to commence my house with more confidence now. I may open a thread of progress as well. I am almost in tears for the hours i wasted in other nairaland sections, gisting about air-headed celebrities and getting into time wasting banters on Tonto Dike and co.You are welcome. |
Please Accept Our Apologies We all get busy or even at times too lazy and forget to return a call or answer an email which often leads to problems and can even ruin a good opportunity. Here's my unreserved apologies to the friends and followers (silent and active followers) of this thread who has been sending us email, text messages, chats and even calls that I was unable to reply. I want to say that I'm really sorry I couldn't attend to all requests filling my inbox daily. Life do get so busy that one can lose track of even more important things. I'm sorry for leaving you hanging when you've already been so nice and helpful. Please accept my sincere apologies. I'll attend to your requests shortly. |
Pre-Plastering Comes First... Final Fix Electrical/Mechanical/HVAC Works Begins - The final fix of electrical tubing and wiring of the Chateau is scheduled to start today (oh, it's Wednesday already) in preparation for the internal rendering of the building. The HVAC/Mechanical trunking commences tomorrow. I need some time to walk the electrician through the design and style. Having decided on the overall design, style and scale of the Chateau, it is time to start working on the details — the fun stuff. I'm going back to the drawing board now. See you later. Enjoy! |
more structure - and details Two topics in this post: the incredible pace of the structure of the Chateau and dealing with the details (the picking out of lights/plumbing fixtures/finishes and the surprises) First, the growth of The Chateau. Here’s how it looks as of yesterday (https://vimeo.com/73742487), with the roof framing becoming more and more complete. It’s starting to feel like the house we’ve been imagining. Secondly, it is time to get serious about finishing The Chateau and in order to avoid running into the problem of too many choices and too many decisions to make, I'll spending hours/days scouring the internet and houzz.com for everything from lighting ideas, to wall finish options. It's time to pick the pieces! |
Finishing what we started! I have had a very specific idea of the look and finish that I want to achieve with this home and I have been making preparations for the next BIG thing (Finishing the Chateau). Sometimes it is the small details that make all the difference to a home and I am happy to announce that we have just secured another contract to finish the Chateau! When I say finish, I mean real FINISH! |
Hiding the Spiral Staircase The spiral staircase belongs to the Chateau but it is hidden from the main reception room, main lounge and the dining. It is somewhere within the building allowing us to go from one floor to another with style.
