Picture Updates

Breakfast Update: Internal plastering of the Chateau (Ground Floor/Upper Floor) have commenced. |
Project Update Cutting corners is a common practice in Nigeria, with developers and builders keen to reduce construction costs, often at the expense of the structural integrity/safety of the building. It is often in the places that can not be seen that these corners are cut. In this project, we are adhering to the highest possible international construction standards. A lot have happened since I left the site on Saturday. Here are the milestones achieved already: Plastering of the Parapet - fully completed. Plastering of the Decking - fully completed Plastering of the Staircase - Completed Mechanical Final Fix - We have completed works on all the interior and exterior plumbing works for the Chateau and a pressure test (using test bucket) will be carried out tomorrow to check for leakages before we cover it up. We can't be too sure. Its professional to check everything over and over again. Electrical wiring - All of the electrical wiring (including low voltage, TV, data/voice) for the Chateau (upper floor, ground floor, exterior security lights, grave site) have been completed in preparation for the POP ceiling to be fitted and rendering of the walls. Here's another scary area where developers and builders cut corners in Nigeria. |

Fhemmmy: I wont be able to get you a SIM Enabled and sorry to hear that the last one was stolen . . . Brand New or Used? Though brand new now is like take out the teeth of a lion that is hungry cos RIMs aint making them anymoreI have a MiFi device so the sim-enabled version wont matter again. Afterall, it cant even make calls. I'll suggest you give a calf to the lion in exchange for a teeth. Let's get a brand new one out-of-box. |
Fhemmmy: SIM enabled is not easy to come by and when we found one, the price aint worth the troubleLet me use this medium to pre-order a 64GB blackberry playbook from Sir Fhemmmy. When should I be expecting my package? |
Fhemmmy: Yes, not bad too, but the cost dey scare people off . . . I stayed away from Iphones, I am a Samsung Fan and Blackberry as well as NokiaMaybe we should do another BB playbook 64GB, the last one I bought from you was stolen. If I can get a sim-enabled version, I'll be so glad. |
Fhemmmy: Lol . . . God dey ohiPhone 4S |
Fhemmmy: Nice project and the pix are not doing it a favor at all . . . .And I'm sure you know exactly what to do sir. I think I still have the account details of your Lagos representative. Make una get me one nice camera ASAP. If not the whole world will know you are responsible for the poor pictures. |
bebe2: tnks my brother,So glad to be of help. Good luck! |
kopell: @brabus good job, if you don't mind can you tell us the cost of your style of these parapet pls.The parapet cost a little lower than a million naira but I think it truly worth every penny spent. Oga Fhemmmy needs to find me one nice camera now to take live shots from the Chateau. I don't think the pictures you're seeing on this blog really depict the finish. |
Rendering Update Neat is an understatement here. The rendering here is world class. Kudos to my Cotonou masons rendering the Chateau. Two guys working at the moment. Full boys to resume to site tomorrow. Sorting out immigration issues with the officials at the moment. |
Marpol: Oga brabus pls I will be needing this your roofing carpenters soon.Hey My Oga-by-the-side, My carpenters are ever-ready for business. They're on standby to take up whatever job you have for them. I'll only advice that you shouldn't be discouraged by their age and size o. What matters is the quality of their job? |
Rendering continues today... Meanwhile, our guy from Wichtech is coming in today to take measurement of the roof. |
