Theories postulated by Mallam-Plagiarist never worked and never will. Has the cashless policy worked? Why not one-step at a time? |
spyder880: I showcased this building at its construction stage last year, and now its finished and occupied, what color is this roof, does anyone know?Enugu got taste! My roofer had recently confirmed this to me. Was this not the building you tried getting its floorplan last year? If it is, abeg mail me the plan make I give to one of my client. |
bleeper: And @ Brabus, pls what can you say to Spyder's recommendation?Spyder is a great friend we met online (Nairaland) about 2 years ago. We just hit off and became good friends. Other than that, he's a great builder that I call "Bargain Hunter" and one of the most passionate friend I've never met. Honestly, I don't know if I have anything to sell you other than trust and confidence but on the strength of Spyder's recommendation, I'd like about few minutes of your time over the phone or whatever medium you found convenient. At that time, we can both determine if there's a reason for the conversation to continue. Of course, every situation is different. |
spyder880: I understand where you are coming from but I believe one incident should not be used to draw a summary on a person. Brabus is a young man and I know he understands the challenge in front of us. I have never met him physically but, how many nairalanders have I met? Thanks spyder for the referral. Its always a great risk when you recommend a product or service to another person. The last thing I want to do is pursue something that might make you fee uncomfortable. Actually, I build my business on referral in a very simple way. First, I'd give new clients call to see if they're open to a quick meeting, then explain my work, ask them few questions and see where that takes us. If they're not interested, that's the end of it. So, if you run into anyone whom you think might get value from the work I do, don't keep me a secret. |
lacord5: well the land is situate at Agbara (it not even lagos,my mistake, its ogun state but regarded as lagos too,its in a dry land. I know the 2.5 is only from foundation till roofing. But can u give me a very good estimate of cost of this building from foundation to completion, but with a different roof, this new mud_like roof, pop, good windows, china foreign doors, excluding tiles and wood work like wordrobe and cabinets. pls kindly send me details on lacord5@fastmail.fm@Spyder, maybe this will help. Agbara is just 10 mins drive from my present project site and here are the material cost. 20 ton Sharp Sand - 45k Granite 20 ton - 120k 1 ton 12mm iron rod - 160k 9in block - 120 - 170 (depending on how solid) Bricklayer charges - N25 per block Carpenter Daily pay - N4k Iron Bender Daily pay - N5k Concrete Casting Labourers - N2k Bricklaying Labourer - N1.5k Binding Wire - N2.5k Average Transportation cost of getting materials to site ranges btw - N1.5k - 3k You can only build in that area using masons from the area. I doubt you can break even using your own men. I tried it and it doesn't work. Transportation to site from Lagos Central is at least N1k per person to and fro. |
funsam85: good day, I just joined the site. Can any one tell me what the average cost of building a four bedroom bungalow (from foundation to roofing) in abeokuta is?It includes a family lounge, main lounge all room ensuite, a sit out and other accesories. I have gotten a land. Thanks.N4 - N5m will give you a nice 4 bedroom bungalow in any location in Abeokuta (from Laderin > Obantoko > Adigbe > and environs) Living Room Family/Dining Kitchen/Laundry 2 ensuite Masters 2 Bedroom sharing bath/toilet Visitors Toilet Private Sit-out Roofing: Step Tiles |
Rigging is fun but the pay does not commensurate with the risk. The job was highly rewarding back in 2003 - 2008. Back in the days when 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz are the in-thing, I used to do RF Optimization at N10k per climb back then. But now, mast climbing is more like a suicide mission. Nowadays, man must wack! You see riggers doing 60m for just N40k Hates - Screws dropping off - Realignments - Unexpected Rain - Scorching Sun Likes - Cool Breeze - City Views - Feeling like a super-human |
I give willingly because God gives me without conditions. Life is too short to be playing demi-god. I give to that Muslim faithful who's looking for help even though I'm a christian. I give to that security man who's keeping night watch while we sleep not because he deserved it but because I felt its the fairest thing to do. I give to that under-privileged neighbour who cannot afford to sink a borehole. I give to that community which cannot afford electricity pole even though I can afford 3 Mikano generator. I give to that friend who's struggling to keep his family together even though he's driving a Nissan Murano. I give to that family with a newborn baby whose house was flooded and needed shelter. I give to that neighbour who definitely cannot afford to pay his child's school fee. I give to my community not because I seek attention but because I want to make an impact. I give to anyone in need (be it fraud or genuine) because no one knows tomorrow. A tree does not eat its fruit. Give and you'll be rewarded. |
acidtalk: Personally, I will speak for myself. You must have been raised by good parents with good values. |
spyder880: Ok, I will be thinking about it as you are doing the roofing. Good finishing is key in building.Remember me in your kingdom. I've lived in Ibadan for over 20 years and sabi the terrain like back of my hand. |
Fhemmmy: Big man too dey soak gari, are you kidding me?So, garri dey Canada! |
spyder880: For whereThanks! My end too dey fine. I know the reward of this service is not monetary gain but I see it as a good way to build oneself. The thrills and frills of building project are the real excitement. I spent all day today showing a client 'Topshop' (another Nairalander), who came visiting from Ireland, her project in Ikorodu town. The beauty of everything is that she was so grateful and even mentioned how people like yourself has help instill confidence in our people abroad. That's more than money, bro. I even got a nice cedarwood state shirt and tie set as a memento. Na me she gave that one o. Her msg to you is 'Keep it up' |
yndig: Thanks so much Brabus for the break downYour engineer is charging N250k for a job which is less than 50 man hour, how much will he charge for MTUs (with 8 flats and 3 floors). Julius Berger doesn't pay that much. Little wonder your cost are outrageous. Abi Spyder880 - dem they pay you like that? He'll be like an engineer on one of my site who's riding BMW X6 while the house owner is cruising 2005 Honda CRV. Let's digress so that we don't derail the thread. _________________ @Spyder880, well done sir! I'm enjoying all the good works o. Remember me in your kingdom when you don dey collect millions for supervision fee o. ![]() |
yndig: Thanks guys for the reply i see points in what both wrote but for me i think the quote was way too high. Are there bricklayer union in your project site? If the job involved is just ''blinding, casting, blockwork, slab and carpentary'', then the amount is outrageous irrespective of the terrain. Worst case scenarious, even when you're giving the job to a contractor, the charges should be as follows Blinding/Block Setting (say 3,000 blocks @N40) - N120k Sand filling @ N4k per trip (say 20 trip) - N80k Casting - N100k Others (carpentary, soil treatment etc) - N50k The major work here is blockwork, sandfilling and casting. I won't pay the cost above irrespective of location, even water-logged areas. The location where I charged N410k is water-logged (at 1.8m depth). The cost includes site clearing, excavation, carpentary, iron bending, casting, removal of planks from the water, bricklaying, casting of the gates and fence, fence capping. |
@Spyder880, Prince_onx, Well Done o! N450k might be too much for some project but not all. I'm presently doing a fence for a client on Nairaland and my charges is N400k +. It seems ridiculous but the work is not a joke. |
There's no point fighting back. Let's just divide Nigeria now. The earlier, the better. Why should we fight? |
tunde300us: My ppl, nobody is saying dont count your money after collecting it from the ATM,but pls dont stand in front of the ATM while others re waiting counting your money and wasting oda ppls time unnecessarily.Bros, leave dat thing. It doesn't take forever to count your money. Highest - 45 seconds to count N40k. Remember, there's a camera on the machine that records each transaction. You aren't competing with anybody, count your money. This is Naija! |
erico2k2: lol this is funny well here in the UK,at one of the ATM at convent garden once uppon a time was overpaying people. So the ATM doeas makes mistakes, however whatever transaction you make is recorded correctly and in real time, so even if it under or over pay, its all recorded. Now my question for you guys who wanna count thier money at the cashpoint*** If you are underpaid by an ATM what are you gonna do?You need to see the gbege wey one guy give the Branch Manager of Oceanic Bank when he realized the ATM machine paid him N500 less. He was given the balance sharply. ATM do short pay whether network issue or not. Just imagine N40k deducted from your account without been paid. I'm a witness to this. I got my money back after 2 months. As for me, I do the following: 1. Insert my card and check my Account Balance. 2. Make a withdrawal 3. Count the money 4. Check my Account Balance Naija ATM works like a Fuel Dispenser in a filling station which has been programmed to only sell short. |
Ogun state is always backward in everything. Here's a state where the incumbent spent N1.3bn to expand a 2.4km road from 4 lane to 6 lane. Misplaced Priorities! |
O my God! I can remember that time when I used to pack at Ajah U-turn and ask anyone that I find on the road, "Please help me turn this thing to the other side" |

Kobojunkie: Are you one of the many daft ones on here? How many times have I said it thus far? Don't tell me what to believe, show me the evidence for this claim.Kobo-tistics, this thread is enough to prove that to you. Be awake to reality! |
I've lived in different parts of the country and when I say something is improving, I knew exactly what I meant. This is unlike the service I'm getting 2-3 months ago. Getting at least 18 hours steady such each day, spending less than N4k on fuel in one month, ironing my clothes with NEPA light... All of the above are happening for the first time this year in the month of July. Kobonatty, power is improving. Shikenah! Levels don change now - its 3/10 and I'm loving it. |
touch_me_hard: What has the Vice President done to Boko haram? Is he not a Muslim like them? Or they are just attacking whoever spontaneously comes to their mindRandom selection ![]() |
Power supply has improved in my area. We now have steady light 12 - 18 hours per day on the average - Sagamu, Ogun State Kobojunkie: Are we already calling Manitoba's takeover an improvement even before the day has ended?Yes, the takeover is an improvement. And I want to believe our problem is really not inadequate megawatts but the sycophants. Kobojunkie: How can electricity in the country have improvedYes, it hasn't but there's major improvement. Kobojunkie: b) Generation has fallen back down over the last couple of months. It is estimated to beMaybe our problem is not the MW generated. |
Nice move Generals! "Do-or-die" + "Non-negotiable" = Non-democratic government like Tinubu/Fashola's govt in Lagos. Not too late to right the wrongs . At least we've seen nothing progressive in our 13 years of democracy. The Generals are saying "Nigerians, democracy ain't working, let's try autocracy" |
afam4eva: You sure say this guy no wan stage coup?? he should be arrested asap.Do you just arrest people like that? :-/ You need to see the BIG guys in the Military Intelligence. They're genius and not just google-developed-brains we have nowadays. If you don't know what to say, just shut up and start learning! |

Maria-Goretti:And you think he'd ever take you serious? Ever seen where dem dey take "Go away! Go to your daddy!" harrass church rat. Anyway, go and try your luck and remember to put "L" sign on yourself cos you're still a learner. By the way, where's the man you claimed to be in your life. Is he also involved in an accident? |
@OP, Just say this to the man and let the drama end. Hey Mr. Stalker, |
sexkillz: Forgiving him is a different matter.I can understand you now. Just advice her to break his arms and legs in order to balance the equation and make you happy. __________________ @OP, thank God the guy is a gentleman and not a Danfo driver or a hit-and -run driver maybe you won't be here discussing this thread. The guy bleep and he's sorry and want to show how truly sorry he was. Now, you're acting like Omotola, playing 'hard-to-get' Common loosen up, jare! Poo happens. I'll here waiting to read your testimony of how we met. Have a fun filled day! Note: I'm not asking you to date him if you already have a man but friendship is not a bad idea. |
