@Olaisrich, thanks for yr message. I understand yr point and I know we wont be through with digging in 1 day but Id earlier mentioned there are times we will have to shift the goalpost in order to deal with oddities.

Live from the project site. Digging has commenced and much to our advantage, it drizzled over night and as a result the ground is wet and the weather is cool. 8 men are on site and we are hoping that we should be half way done by today, all things being equal.

Brabus, I dont like how the bedroom door is being exposed to the livingroom. A lobby would have been a better plan to the bedroom. Exposing the room doors to the livingroom looks more of an old design. That's just my view and critique of the plan you attached. Could you explain why the house is been designed that way?

Thanks , I'll make necessary adjustment by talking the guest bdrm door to the space where we have the guest bed toilet and the toilet in the space where you have the door. How about that? The guest bdrm door now face the staircase

Pic updates from the site

Well now, more than 70% of materials for the foundation stage are in. I anticipate that there will be a lot of progress over the next few days, as we are working overtime to ensure that we finish on schedule.
I obviously hope that the next few days will give you an appreciation for the attention to detail and build quality that we care about so much at NextHome Builder.

Today, the following materials itemized below are ready the site.

30 tons Granite
20 tons Sharp sand
30 tons Soft sand
Peg & Tie rods

The block and cement will be delivered as at when needed since the block maker's shop is just 3 minutes walk away from the site. We are now ready to break ground tomorrow.

Forgot to mention that my Nokia N97 mobile phone was stolen yesterday. So pic updates will be delayed till I gt a new phone or camera.

As for me, I want to start producing ready-made lintels (2ft, 4ft, 6ft) So as to lower the cost of construction. remember you dont need carpenters, planks, welders anymore. Just buy it like you buy blocks

The following materials have been paid for and are been expected at the site from today,  I'll be taking deliveries from this morning.

30 ton Granite
20 ton Sharp sand
20 ton soft sand (Dagbolu)
1,000 litre GP tank
1,000 blocks
50 bags of cement

They are 1 in thick. The supporting pole can be 2in galvanized or thick pipe. I'll send you the pic of the pole as well. Lemme check my files!

I woke up this morning and was staring at the ceiling, and I thought, why don't we invent a type of decking wood that could be reused like 50 times in different decks? I drew up a plan, buy some plywood and form them into fixable mats which could be removed after each deck, 1'' plywood, a few metal clamps and metal supports can do this, engineers in the house, what do you think? Is this possible?

This is how we do it! See your dream in reality. Its possible. The plywood can be reused 25 times.

I didnt talk because you all are on track, we need to see where the study fits as you asked, and Fhemmmy also is waiting for the next floor plan to ask the same question. I think he will make provisions for it.

I think we need to understand that I was not commissioned or paid to do the floor plan. Its a free design so doing the Ground floor is not my headache. If 3ppleT wants a redesign of his house plan, he will send me a mail as requested and I will do both floors. As for the study, give me a little time. But before then, 3ppleT you can assist by letting me know yr preference via email.

ConceptDraw or any other CAD software for draft designs like the one above, but I use Revit for do the main drawing.

Still arranging materials. Hope to start taking deliveries from this afternoon. B4 then, I'll be meeting with other builders in the neighbourhood to see how we can benefit from each other.

No man is an island. One site adjacent to mine is building three units of 3 bedroom duplex and they are already at decking stage. Lets see how I can benefit from them.

I'm using the phone to browse right now. But if in doubt, I'm prepared to spend whatever it will cost if I have anyone who can guarantee that the touch screen can be fixed or replaced. i know the battery is possible.

I just hate the phone for being useless. The touch screen cannot stop calls when I made calls. I need to tell the other party to cut off the phone from the other side.

@all interested party, my prob with the phone starts from the day i bought it. I have used 3 iphones (2g, 3g and 3gs) and I thought N97 would or could provide better functionality then. I bought it for N90k or something higher, cant remember, in PromoTower Abeokuta beside Slot. So its not a China phone.

The problems:

1. Touch Screen ( not very responsive)
2. Battery

I just cant say I want to dash it out, otherwise I would have. Its not MINI, minis were released maybe 3 months after I bought this.

If you want to have a real time display of the phone, I can do so right away. Its working but the touch is crazy.

This is a commendable effort anyway.  Kudos.

Usually, a rainy day mean a lost working day to building projects. Planning ahead will ensure that project construction is executed without unexpected costs or delays.

Well-planned projects cost less than projects that are implemented in a crisis situation, so get ready before the rain is forecasted and be prepared. Do the following:

1. Get timely collection of meteorological information!
2. Get adequate materials or supplies on site. It will do absolutely no good to merely have materials ordered when the rainstorm comes.

Although, there are times when you may need to shift goalpost. Anything is possible if you do it right!
