bros be4 u subscribe 4 any network 4 ur area try am with small plan first... all network fast but location matters a lot.. piple wen de airtel coverage area nor de complain.. maybe the available bts mast wen de serve d area wen u de de very very very far from r side. sometimes network head de shake but tthe closer the better..

abi ur area nor get 3g?......try n insert this same sim in2 a modem n tell us if it shows 3g..i am not using a galaxy tab but want 2 believe all andriods weda jelly bins or jelly rice looks alike. check ur fone configuration if d network mode is on 2g...

btw wat plan did u subscribe for and how did u subscribe it. did u add d 10mb daily plan 2 it??

moscovite: Linux? Windows 7 is even barely accepted within cafes. How will you deal with customers who bring their software to run so they can do their forex etc. Most softwares around are written for windows xp that is why you still have XP running in most cafes. If you want to start losing customers the day you open install a Linux.

Graphics: Are you aware that thin clients only bring what has been processed to your screen and has no interaction whatsoever with host VGA. Have you ever configured your thin client on 256 and get a high quality image with that big VGA you talked about. It wouldnt happen. The thin clients bring everything straight to its display raw and resolves the graphics using its own VGA. Sluggishness has to do with your network speed mostly. Its the same with Videos. You can see videos come in frames because RDP brings in the video raw and uncompressed, whereas what you get from the net like youtube come in compressed. RDP brings it in raw and you need a large bandwidth to have video frames come in faster. By some calculation you need about 150-200Mbps. Your LAN and switch is typically 100Mbps. So, that is where the slugishness comes from.
Try and get a gigabit switch, gigabit Lan card for server and maybe a Gigabit thin client and see how the video will run.
This has not been an issue for cafes anyway because cafe owners dont want you to continously stream video on his network especially when most ISP cap their bandwidth. You can finish his entire monthly allocation in one day with such video.
So slugisshness is an internal bandwidth issue because of how the RDP protocol operates.

virtualization rocks.... as long as u know how 2 use it.. but mind u get a good sys spec.. i am using 4gb ram on an intel core 2 duo laptop of 2.6ghz... and i am doing fine with running my win7 +linux+Mikrotik OS+ Winxp3.. i still run other os but becos of my ram and the resources i run on those stuff i just stick with at leat 2 tins powered on with my win7 as the host.there was a time i actually strected the capabilities of my pc...

My Glo sim, when tethered through my phone gives me a consistent download speed of 700kb/s

I have to add that because i use them both for online multiplayer gaming, they are both useless and their ping is often in excess of 250ms

baani: i need help with this, i didnt knw where to place to drop this. i have a surveillance camera installed in my organization that is connected to a dvr. its been configured to be viewed locally and over the internet (wan). the medium is the dvr, whereby if im on my local network and i connect with username and password (def), i hv ease of access to view but when i try to view it over the internet i keep gettin *login failed* when i put the username and password that enables me login into the dvr. i have done port-forwarding and natting on my router but i still get the same result.

onegig: abi na. I was suprised when he said they did it with that device. What most engineers do is to heat it and call it reflowing. Even as i don Waka reach i never see one re flow machine..

i dont want 2 believe that out of 100 shops in lagos none has a reflow station....

Immanuelar: please techs help me with this problem. My HP 620 laptop, anytime I insert disk into my DVD rom,it sees the disk as empty disk and when I click on it it will say the disk is empty even when it's not, av test many disk on it but the same thing happen. I av uninstall and reinstall the DVD rom driver several times but still to no avail. please what can I do. thanks

get an external usb dvd drive, plug in2 ur laptop usb ports and test the same disks on it and tell us the outcome..

If any engineer should help you reflow it, It MIGHT still develop same problem. Why not buy a new board instead of continously spending on something that might fail any moment. You can get a new board for as low as $80-$90.


Or better still get a new system..If you however still insist on going on to repair..

talking abt reflow.. do they really have the machine... and who is that engineer that said there are 2 diodes on d graphic chip? its not jst abt heating the chip with the heater gun and it works again, it will eventually fail.. The only two available solutions are

1..the reflow of the graphic chip must be done with the BGA reflow workstation ...... so if the engineer doesnt have the BGA reflow station bros____________

2 _______Get a new board..

nor let dem deceive u in2 tinkin dat the can fix it without that machine oooo..... there is no shortcut when it comes to graphic chip reflow and reballing.. it must be done with the machine... or else it will fail again and again

But the only challenge I've got now is on how to hear the sound. Even when it's at the highest volume, one can't hear as it's very faint. Maybe, I have to buy earphone n use. Tnx.

i tink vlc might help in this case cos it can help in vol increase.. bt u can amplify d voice by connecting a headfone cable 4rm ur laptop 2 maybe a sound system...y ur vol is @ moderate level u can apply d vol of the sound system..

the other one is very stressful cos i cud remember back in dose days wen i was crazy abt videos n conversion...u can use total video converter 2 increase dia vol wen converting 2 another video format..

I bought some video DVDs, which were sent to me via online links. But after downloading the videos, I realized that they were either corrupt or something. They rather appeared in notepad form with words that seem to be written in arabic or whatever. The sender claimed he sent the same links to others without such complaint. Please, what can be the cause of such anomaly n how can I get through it successfully?

it might be some interruption during download..did u try using d open with and den navigate 2 ur dvd player program, did u try another video player? can u check d file extension of d videos n tell us.. i dont want 2 believe u ve bin scammed
