dr dams: Plz help, my dv2500 is giving me headache.
The mouse cursor moves around the screen well but weneva i click smthing, it disappears.
Infact , i cant click anytin.
Even when i connected a usb mouse, d prob persist.
Nw i guess dis might nt be a mouse prob.
The top left corner of d moda board too makes sound 1ce in a while.
Av reset d 2 set of ram, hardisk.
Infact i tot it was spyware, i formatted it.. Sa,e prob.

lets start 4rm here. dv2500 is somehow old.. get a bios update file 4 ur lapi(be kiaful on getting the right version for ur lapi n more also make sure dat 4 wen u want 2 install there should be a steady power supply at least 5 mins -i nor de joke else u---).. get an updated synaptics driver 4 ur mouse n keyboard stuff.. probably d newest version either from hp or fromhttp://drivers.softpedia.com/get/KEYBOARD-and-MOUSE/Synaptics/Synaptics-TouchPad-Driver-16221.shtml

how many ram slot do u have.. and how many ram stick is on ur laptop..

if u have 2 rams.. i would advise switching slots with first ram.. if notin works out repeat it with the other... if it still has d same problem.. try n put ur laptops ram stick in2 another laptop and power it.. if it doesnt show up.. i guess ur sticks are bad..but if it does theres no harm in trying another set of sticks on ur laptop .(make sure they in working condition---test on other pc be4 insertin in2 ur own pc)

try another stick of ram probably same type 2 avoid mismatching.. repeat the same process above if it is 2 stick.. even with one stick u can still repeat d process..

now if the above doesnt work at all.. den i guess its time 2 take ur laptop apart.just try n above n get back........

if notin happen..den its time 2 take d laptop apart..try removing the processor and power d board ordinarily

did i hear u say smoothly ....even microsoft recommends 2gb of ram 2 run windows 7 smoothly.i nor even add process join..sef.even wtih the minimal resources on windows 7 starter.. it still lags...abeg nor push d guy..

even if u get it on.. hope u will be ready 4 drivers problem...if u tink windows 7 installs all drivers... den u must be be a comedian.. those are generic drivers from microsoft... u must install d real drivers else u will find some functions not working the way they ought 2 work..gudluck all d same

please u piple shud stop buying the former airtel modem n others.. there is a new airtel modem in town (zte).. it can be unlocked with dccrap.. i just bot 2 n unlocked dem..

u re goin 2 love this modem.. cos it has some tweaks 2 give u up 2 50mbps...lol

have u changed the ram and used the new one 2 boot ur system did it boot..if it did den u ve 2 change d ram of the system.. there is no 2 way abt it.. a bad ram is a bad ram... some engineers go tell u say dem de work ram lol ....but if u replace the ram and it didnt boot. den u ve 2 do some other troubleshooting..

sameolg616: if i have offered to sell on nairaland then u can be rest assured it has been tested(they are factory fitted hard drives i remove when i upgrade my systems)-can u even guarantee that a new one wont crash or develop bad sectors after a week...

avast lol ok put on ur pc after ur manufacturers logo disappears.. hit the f8 key continuously until a list of options appear.. except the stuff has eaten deep in2 ur windows boot up files. u shud be able 2 see safe mode and other options.. u might also find the last known configuration option.. chose either the safe mode or the last known configuration..were in delta do u reside cos i stay in warri..

the least u can get in d market is 320gb... but its almost fading out.. the best u can get is abt 500gb.sorry dude the list moni in ur pocket shud be 10k (500gb) i dont know of 320gb.. y settle for less wen u can get more and would need dat extra space someday..

ok from the above info... it sims like ur pc is looking for a bootable device...i willl assume the following.

1. sometin has happened 2 d hard disk..maybe ur pc collided with something or fell on the ground and as a result shifted a little bit from the original position but i doubt dis 2 cos of the screws attached except they are broken (the holes o on which de rest)..

2.. ur hard disk is faulty and need to be replaced..

what i would suggest 2 u is dat u shud pres f2 2 enter setup and look for pc diagnostic and do a check on the hard drive if the pc still regcognize it.. it will report d status of the hard diskk if eventually it recognizes one.. its either its bad and need to be replaced or the check didnt see the hard drive.. if it doesnt see the hard drive den u ve 2 disassemble the laptop and replace it with another drive and den do a diagnostic test on the new drive..if the drive appears ok den u can go ahead and install windows..

dont worry about taking the hard drive apart many modern laptops allows u to take out the drive without actually opening the whole pc.. except say u de use junk box
