Zenithsblog: A 25-year-old man, Seyi Ajiboye, has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl (name withheld) who is suffering down syndrome.
Down syndrome is a genetic disorder which causes developmental and intellectual delays in children.
The Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who spoke with journalists on Wednesday said the suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Agbado Divisional headquarters by the victim, ”accompanied by her parents”.
“The victim complained that while she was coming from a church service at Oluwalogbon street Abule Ijoko, the suspect who resides in the area lured her into his room, forcefully removed her underwear and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent,” Mr Oyeyemi said.
The police spokesman said the suspect ”increased the volume of his radio making it impossible for people around to hear her (victim) screaming”.
“On the strength of the report, the DPO Agbado Division, CSP Olatunji Omonijo led his detectives to the area where the suspect was arrested. He has since made a confessional statement to the effect that he actually committed the crime. The victim has been taken to the hospital for medical treatment and report,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Anti-human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the state police.

Toks2008: And where in the Bible is bigamy a sin? In fact what GOD hates and forbids in its entirety is divorce. Malachi 2:16 "For I hate divorce!" says the LORD, the God of Israel.
Polygamy or Bigamy though not the original plan is permitted by GOD and we saw many references in the bible. GOD even gave a guideline for men to handle polygamy very well. If polygamy or Bigamy was forbidden by GOD I'm certain it will be sated clearly and he will never give any form of guideline...and please don't give me that talks of...''its old testament'' The bible is one holistic scripture.
Exodus 21:10;If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, or her marital rights.
Deuteronomy 21:15-17; “If a man has two wives, the one loved and the other unloved, and both the loved and the unloved have borne him children, and if the firstborn son belongs to the unloved, then on the day when he assigns his possessions as an inheritance to his sons, he may not treat the son of the loved as the firstborn in preference to the son of the unloved, who is the firstborn, but he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the unloved, by giving him a double portion of all that he has, for he is the first fruits of his strength. The right of the firstborn is his.
What many Christians quote is just logic about GOD making one woman for Adam and as I wrote, polygamy was not the original plan but GOD permitted it because women were rendered single for long due to several factors and no woman deserves to be single.
Paul only advised deacons and General Overseers to be husband of one wife but that does not make it a sin if a pastor chooses to marry more cos it was only an advise from Paul that they marry one.
Shall we say it is ok for man who has more than one wife to divorce extra wives because he wants to be a deacon or General overseer? will this not be a sin in itself? or should I turn down the call of GOD to be a deacon or G.O because I have more than one wife?
Polygamy or bigamy though very complex and unadvisable does not translate to sin and it is the choice of every man to be either monogamous or polygamous.
The devil has destroyed many churches because of this erroneous doctrine of monogamy and its time someone preached the truth.
Enough of these baseless sentiments. My Friend sharrap if you have nothing to say. If it is not a problem or a sin as the case may be, so why didn't he make it public. Why marry in secret. That's the nonsense and double-standard lives that God hates. |

kamanidesmond1: 37years old mother of Little Precious Eromosele on Saturday abandoned her in a public taxi after returning from market.
According to report gathered, the mother of three identified as Mrs Cynthia Eromosele is under police custody for carelessness and child neglect.
Mrs Cynthia had gone shopping with her daughter at the popular Oyingbo market in PortHarcourt to purchase items for a social event the family is hosting.
After shopping, she hired a taxi to take her to her residence somewhere at Eleme. While in the taxi, she let her baby sleep on the taxi seat.
When she got home, she alighted to offload the goods she bought while her visiting in-laws took them inside.
She paid the driver and he zoomed off without realising that Little Precious was still at the back seat unnoticed.
The driver who was also unaware of the presence of the baby got to a police checkpoint where he was flagged down for stop and search.
Trying to explain to the policeman that he had passed a few minutes ago, the policeman saw little precious and the driver was nabbed immediately for child theft.
Every explanation to the policemen that the mother of the baby might have abandoned her in his taxi fell on deaf ears as the police insisted that he is a child thief.
Meanwhile, trouble already started at the home of Eromosele as heated accusations and counter accusations about the whereabout of Little Precious was alleged.
The mother insisted that after alighting from the vehicle, she handed over Precious to one of the guests who denied anything of such as she only carried the make up kits she bought.
The arguments nearly resulted to fisticuffs before it was suggested that the natter should be reported to the police.
The panic stricken couple arrived at the police station to find little precious and the driver of the taxi in police custody.
After every proofs of being parents of the baby, the police asked that the mother be locked up for child neglect till Monday when she will be handed over to the ministry of women affairs for discipline.
All pleas to allow the mother return home were turned down by the police who insisted that Mrs Eromosele was serve her punishment as a deterrent to other would be careless mothers.

Politics › Re: Nigeria’s Brutal Decision: Former Dictator Or Alleged Kleptocrat - Bloomberg by Briller: 12:33pm On Feb 09, 2019 |
KingOvo: Voters need to choose between a pair of uninspiring presidential candidates, neither offering a fix for its struggling economy.
What’s a Nigerian citizen to do when there’s a presidential election coming up and the two leading candidates are a former dictator who’s presided over four years of lackluster growth and an alleged kleptocrat of international repute?
This is the choice facing Africa’s largest oil producer, and by some measures its largest economy, in the Feb. 16 vote. Although the field is crowded, incumbent Muhammadu Buhari, 76, faces his strongest challenge from Atiku Abubakar, 72, who served as vice president from 1999 to 2007 and has tried and failed several times already to secure the top job.
Buhari, who led Nigeria briefly in the 1980s as a dictator, came back to power four years ago via the ballot box. After military rule ended in 1999, he contested several elections unsuccessfully before finally becoming the first opposition figure to win the presidency. (He describes himself as a “converted democrat.”) Voters and pundits alike were optimistic that he could diversify the oil-dependent economy, tackle graft, and end Boko Haram’s deadly insurgency. While the stern former general has succeeded in stamping out some of the corruption that’s long blighted Nigeria, critics say he’s been selective, mostly targeting his political opponents. They also say he’s failed on other issues, nicknaming him “Baba Go-Slow” in reference to his age and sluggish response to crises. Nigeria’s economy is still smaller on a per capita basis than it was in 2014, when it was hammered by the crash in crude prices. Unemployment has surged to a record 23 percent from 6.4 percent at the end of 2014. The stock market has been the world’s worst performer since Buhari came to office, falling more than 50 percent in dollar terms. Boko Haram militants, some affiliated with Islamic State, continue to wreak havoc in the northeast. Other parts of the country have been roiled by a conflict between farmers and herders that’s led to thousands of deaths.
Abubakar, widely known as Atiku, is a father of 26 who has business interests ranging from oil and gas services to food manufacturing. He’s pledged to loosen the state’s grip on the economy, end the naira’s peg to the dollar, and privatize companies including the Nigerian National Petroleum Corp., which dominates the local energy industry. But for all his market-friendly talk—he admires the late Conservative U.K. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher—many Nigerians think he used his past positions in government to enrich himself.
“It’s like a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea,” says Andrew Niagwan, 36, a teacher in the central city of Jos who doesn’t know if he’ll vote. “Buhari’s got good intentions, but he doesn’t seem very capable. Our living standards have dropped in recent years. As for Atiku, Nigerians are wary because of all the allegations surrounding him.”
A U.S. Senate report in 2010 concluded that Abubakar and one of his wives had wired $40 million of “suspect funds” into American accounts and said that his business dealings “raise a host of questions about the nature and source” of his wealth. Although he has denied the claims and has never been indicted at home or abroad, Abubakar hasn’t been able to shake the perception of impropriety. In January he met with lawmakers in Washington after having been banned from the country for more than a decade under a State Department edict against politicians linked to foreign corruption, according to former U.S. officials. (A spokesperson for Abubakar’s campaign denies he’d been banned from the U.S., and the State Department declined to comment on the visit.)
Investors expect Nigerian assets to rise if Abubakar wins. “As much as Buhari has done in terms of tackling corruption, under his guidance the economy has been quite stagnant,” says Christopher Dielmann, an economist at Exotix Capital in London. “The perception is that, under Atiku, a degree of corruption could return to the country, but that might bring with it higher economic growth.” Still, any bounce could be short-lived. Abubakar may not risk the political fallout from trying to sell state assets or, as he’s also promised, removing a cap that keeps Nigeria’s gasoline prices among the cheapest in the world.
“I’m doubtful there’d be any great change with the economy, no matter who gets elected,” says John Campbell, a former U.S. ambassador to Nigeria who’s now a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington. That’s a major problem, he says, as the United Nations projects Nigeria’s population will double, to 410 million, by 2050. “How on Earth can you grow an economy fast enough to accommodate those numbers?”
New York-based risk consultant Eurasia Group, which included Nigeria on its list of the top 10 global risks for 2019, predicts Buhari will be reelected. But even if steadier oil prices mean the worst is over, it won’t be an easy four years. “The country might just muddle through for now,” says Amaka Anku, head of Africa at Eurasia. The next election, in 2023, could be an inflection point, she says. “There’s a real chance that a reformist government emerges then."
BOTTOM LINE - No matter who wins Nigeria’s presidential election, the economy is unlikely to improve, setting up the nation for a humanitarian catastrophe in the coming decades.

Son called his mom and they spoke in some coded ibo language which my brother was able to decode a little that the boy should go through the backdoor unnoticed and come to the shop which was a very long distance from the house. (Oyibo to Rumomasi if you know Ph enough)
My brother offered to give the boy a ride to wherever he was going to after he intercepted the son at the backyard trying to escape. Boy entered the car and started giving directions. Soon after, mom called and son told her he was coming in my brother's car to the shop, mother scolded him on the phone called him names and dropped the call, my brother was just calm.
By the time they finally arrived at the shop, Dreaded looking men of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Mini Okoro Police Division Port Harcourt (which was not so far from the shop) were on ground to pick my brother for attempted child kidnap.
Clear SET UP...!!! Woman had raised a false alarm, called the police claiming that the 'kidnaper' was requesting for money and she'd promised to give the alleged 'kidnapper' the money as soon as they get to her shop.
Well, cut long story short, my brother had to agree to part with the money he was being owed that night (N150k) just to get off the hook...!! The heart of man.... |
